This guy's talent and enthusiasm are fantastic! However I want to comment on something he said about meeting Buddy's brother (which BTW was very interesting). He said Buddy's brother felt that Buddy wasn't appreciated in the US. I wonder what his brother meant?? Buddy was among THE FIRST TEN INDUCTEES into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. This list included such stars as Elvis, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis. Also, a song by Don McLean, "American Pie", was basically about Buddy Holly. It was Number One in the US for weeks. Also, there was a movie made about Buddy Holly. (And I don't think there was ever a movie about Elvis.) So what did his brother mean? I think he means that Buddy's songs aren't covered by bands in America as much as they are in Britain or Europe. I've noticed this phenomenon on TH-cam. There are far more European and British bands playing music from the 50s than there are American bands. Why this is, I don't know. Maybe Americans just take oldies for granted, to some extent. But any American who knows anything about music appreciates Buddy Holly and knows how great and unique he was. I remember his death. It was just absolutely horrifying to everyone.

Buddy is a far bigger name in the UK and Europe, than he ever was in the USA. In Lubbock, many people have never heard of him. His records continued to sell in their millions in the UK, in the USA, he faded from the charts and was struggling to get a hit record. People like The Beatles, made Buddy popular again around the world, and many other musical artists paid homage, but the general public in the USA were far less enthused about him. To this day, many people in the USA have never heard of him. In the UK, he's a household name.
