    The WaterColor Tool 6:24 works well. It works like paint in real life. The longer you hold a particular color, the more of it is added. If you add too many colors, the paint becomes brown or black (just like dirt in real life is also made of tons of different colors, I suppose)
    In fact, it is even better than in real life because here you can actually subtract colors as well and make your palette white!

    The color pallet kind of reminds me of Inkscape but I can see the Gimp options are more extensive. Thanks for making and sharing this tutorial.

    When I go to the pallet function it appears empty even though I have been using lots of colors. Any tips?

    It would be nice if they had a basic set of palette colors a user could select from.

    Great tutorial. What I can't seem to find is a way to change the opacity of a selected area. Say I have a landscape photo and I use the rectangle select tool. I fill the rectangle with a desired color but I want the area under the rectangle to be somewhat visible. How do I do that?

    I have a black band logo with a white outline on an alpha BG. I am trying to change the color of the white outline in the logo. It seems like something which should be very easy to do, but it isn't. Any help is welcome.

    U did not tell about the color picker tool according to the name of the video

  • @hubercats

    I’m a bit confused as to the meaning of foreground and background. When you use the “x” shortcut to switch between them they seem to act more like alternate colors. I.e., they don’t seem to be affecting anything related to “back” or “fore”. On the other hand, if one starts with a new file that has a white background and then draw on it using a black pen, for example, then the meanings of “fore” and “back” seem more intuitive. In this latter mode it seems that the meaning of “foreground” is really more about what color is associated with the tool one is using (e.g., paint brush). Am I understanding this correctly? Thanks! - Jim

    • @HIM-HUMAN
      @HIM-HUMAN ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jim, you're kinda right, the thing is, these applications like GIMP or Photoshop they use layers modes to edit pictures, and in that sense, the foreground is the upper layer, and the background is the lower layer, when you change the background colour, for example red, and then use the eraser tool, it is not erasing in red, it's actually erasing the upper layer, and because the lower layer is red, it shows the red colour. It's similar to a canvas in real life, the canvas has a plain background, for instance, brown, and then u start painting above it, but if you were to erase some of the painting it would show the background colour, which is brown. That's how foreground and background colours work, I think. Hope this helps, thanks.

    Am I the only one experiencing a problem with this video? It's not showing anything at this point? I get a smudgy upper pic and just a green background for the rest of the pic. NVM! My bad :/ I tried posting here as the video was going and it gave me all that mess . . . NP all squared away now ;) TYSVM! These videos are really helping me out ;)
