I agree he put on a persona in later interviews after he started drinking again. I love the real David: Down to earth, intelligent and articulate. RIP sweet man!

Sweet & handsome David. We LOVE & MISS you so very much!!!
😭😭💔💔 You retired for 3 years, but all of your fans never forgot you. 😊😄 As with anything that you did, you did a phenomenal job with Blood Brothers. I'm very proud of everything you did and I am very proud of you. 👍I am glad that you were on this Earth to give joy and love to all of us. But I'm very sad about everything that you want through that made your life so sad & painful. You're no longer in pain now David, and I am happy about that. Wish you were still here, but not in the pain and turmoil that you were in before you left. Hugs to you in heaven David. God bless you forever.☺⚘

My childhood first crush as 12 years old. Loved watching him play “Keith” in “The Partridge Family”. Too bad he had a sad ending.

David always kept his boyish looks. I can't believe it will be 4 years that he was taken from us. Love you and you will always be missed ❤

I don't think Susan Day thought he "took the high road." I will say that he is more "authentic" here. In many interviews, he seems to put on a persona, which stems from his deep insecurity. I love that he acknowledged the love he received from fans! RIP DAVID, I am sure he and his father have now been able to resolve their issues. I am sure they are both together, and at peace~~~

David was so intelligent to know what was happening to him, and he at that young age had the presence of mind and courage to leave the Partridge Family show. He went on to be successful in everything he did. Bravo! I've quite underestimated his talent and maturity as a person.

Well we all know he didn't get past it or over it. Not what so ever. Alcohol killed him and that's the truth.

David Cassidy always just launches into talking and rarely lets the host ask a question. His interviews always include the following: frantic lip licking, the words Lunchboxes, Bubble Gum Cards, Cream/ Clapton, Hendrix, Crushed Velvet. This appearance didn't give him enough time but watch some others. You'll see what I mean. I used to adore him but I feel like he grew into a boring broken record. Sorry

OMG! Nancy... I would rather listen to the person being interviewed than the interviewer. Also of course he will discus his teen throb days & he's plugging his book. Perhaps you have been obsessed with David Cassidy & saturated your mind with him to be this critical of the dead.
Nice thing is, he will always be remembered for decades & decades perhaps centuries & you Nancy, well we won't need to worry about your frantic lip licking, those words, & growing into a boring broken record... I'm not sorry eh!

Nancy: I agree with your observations about David although I still have a mad crush on him. He did like to talk a lot, God bless him, based on some intense tragedies in his life. Sometimes I think his relationship with his father nearly drove him over the edge and then his father died in that horrible apartment fire in the 70s. But there's no denying that David was beyond handsome and so multi-talented, and I'm so sorry that his later years were troubling. He had a good soul but a very demanding inner demon at times. RIP David. See you on the other side.

Of course the 1972 version of David Cassidy holds a place in my heart forever. 8 years old and sitting in the 2nd row at Madison Square Garden yelling at the top of my lungs was an epic moment of my childhood! I almost wish I hadn't seen all the videos on TH-cam of his later appearances. It kind of tainted the nostalgic innocence for me for sure ❤

Nancy Jones You feel like that because you watch EVERY interview, other people may only watch one or two - when on a promotion for a book, the discussion will always be the same, a bit like the set list for a concert

Nancy, Thank you! I, like you, adored him. I saw him in concert when I was about 8 years old, then met him in 1990 at a club in Toronto, where he was promoting his new record. I looked SO geeky, more of a teenybopper than a grown woman. I believe the record label brought in two leggy models to hang around, and he kept eyeing them. I could be wrong, but I think he may have eve rolled his eyes when I was the last one to have my pic taken (Polaroid on my refrigerator ;). I totally agree with you. He constantly whined and complained about how no one took him seriously as an actor. The thing is, as I watch The Partridge Family now, all I see is a beautiful young man who could really act, could sing like nobody's business AND he co-wrote some of those amazingly well-crafted pop songs. What on earth could he complain about? I believe that if he'd left due to burn out, ('retired") took some time to reflect (therapy) but still have GRATITUDE for his success, he would have built the career he'd longed for. The law of attraction states that you attract what you focus on, focus on the good, and more comes~~~ (My two cents ;)
