He was so transparent. That's why people loved him so much. He didn't try to hide his pain. He shared his human experiences. It made him real. What a beautiful man. Loved and missed. 💖

Ever since I was a little girl (like 4 seriously) I loved David. I was hospitalized with acidosis right before I went into kindergarten and I didn’t know it, but I almost didn’t make it. I was trying to sing with the Partridge Family on the radio on the way to the hospital but my respiratory system was shutting down…and I started to lose consciousness….still…a couple weeks later , I left Buffalo Children’s hospital with a gift of a vinyl of Up to Date. I swear that music healed me, lol!
But, anyways, even as a little kid I remember laughing at “Keith Partridge” and thinking “It’s so nice of him to be funny for us.” It was hard to imagine that someone who seemed beautiful and perfect would actually have insecurities, and David’s self-deprecating humor was always to his credit.
A few years ago my daughter and I binged all The Partridge Family shows. My daughter had been between first and second grade, and she just loved “Keith” too! When she got to school she was writing The Partridge Family on her notebooks and it turned out her teacher was my age and had LOVED David Cassidy too! We were heartbroken when he passed, not a whole year later. To this day my daughter who is now 15 and I share a special bond because of David’s music and his soul that transcends generations.

This was David as his very best, mature, reflective, softly spoken, articulate. He had picked himself up from the state he was in around 1990, smartened himself up, looked dashing and handsome, found happiness and recognition as an actor, he was married and had a son, a happy homelife. You just want to hold on to him and protect him from what was to happen to him in the future. Selina Scott was beautiful and she conducted the best interview there has ever been with David.

Watching The Partridge Family i never would think David had suffered so much. He suffered so much! Watching this made my eyes watery because he was such a real, raw person that deserves more recognition. I miss him so much!!!! 😔😔😔😔 I also agree when he said he felt the teen idol image had stunted his image that he really wanted to portray. It kinda upsets me when people label David as only a teen idol or a pop icon. Because he was so much more than that. ❤️

One of the best interviews I’ve seen of him in his latter years. So articulate ,honest and and just drop dead gorgeous still.
You can see how towards the end even the interviewer starting to fall for his charm.

Wow. What an interview. So thoughtful. Do reflective and articulate. And sort of full of pain despite his claim to the contrary. He just feels sad to me even though he’s on the up here.
He’s a lovely man isn’t he? That laugh. That face.
I miss this guy. And I can feel the depression somehow and only wish he found the happiness in life he deserved. RIP I so hope you are at peace DC

What an amazing interview,Selina Scott really looked like she was interested in what David was saying, asking the right questions, letting him speak without interruption,so we got to listen to David,I think speaking from his heart, telling us what it was like for him, both in the past, and when this interview was made. Yet again you can see how much David respected his fans, when he talks about the "crap"merchandise that was being sold to the fans,he always seemed angry about that, that he didn,t want us to be ripped off,he mentioned that several times over the years. But it's when he speaks of his father, what Jack Cassidy was like with him and not getting his father's arms around him, giving him the praise and support that David so badly needed,he missed that love right until his passing, that you really feel for David, not as a mega superstar, but as a human being,no child deserves that. Thank you for making this video, wonder how many more of these gems are out there!

A very GREAT interview of where he was TRULY himself and seemed happy, but in his eyes, you could kind of see the emotional trauma he had of how he was treated and perceived by his father. And I particularly liked that Selina ( the interviewer) really allowed David to speak without all of the interruption of questions. This was again...a really wonderful interview. Thank you SO much for sharing! I miss and love DC SO much!! ❤😢🙏⚘

The industry destroyed David Cassidy. It was disgusting. He was a great talent but after his very Young success they didn’t know how to market him at all. I wish it had have turned out better for him but sadly it didn’t, and when the drinking started the media loved to see him of guard. RIP David no one can take away my happy sweet memories of you.

As I watch this, it suddenly occurred to me that he could have channelled all his pain into helping others. Perhaps there is no point to bringing this up now that he has passed, but as I've started to believe in the "Law of Attraction," David seemed to speak SO frequently about his addiction, sadness, problems, teen idol woes, instead of focussing on his amazing talent and abilities. He could have used his celebrity to uplift the world. RIP David~~~
