I hope this video is encouraging to you and your own decluttering journey! This is just phase 1 of the basement and garage decluttering so no huge before and afters to share yet. Let me know if you even want to see the rest of the process as we continue to chip away at it here and there, or if you’d prefer to stick with the indoor transformations inside the house instead. My feelings won’t be hurt either way, I promise! I’d rather post what you actually like watching! 💛 since this video didn’t have the hugest before and after transformation I tried to keep it inspiring by chatting about what I’m learning and my minimalism mindset throughout the whole video, so if you like chatty videos this one is for you! 😆
Look up A Hoarders Heart and Erica Lucas on TH-cam. Both are on an extended journey to declutter and simplify their lives. Both are good to binge watch.
Watching Erica Lucas and hearing her work things out in front of the camera encouraged me to start my decluttering process. My guest room was my crawl space 😆
And I am so glad he helps me! It would be very overwhelming and sad to do it all myself! We both contributed to the mess so we both need to take care of it! 😊
Aww thank you for letting me know it was encouraging, I am so glad we can do this together! I am so enjoying connecting with so many likeminded individuals on here 💛 It definitely keeps me motivated to keep going!
I loved this video! We are partially redoing our basement and had to put all of the basement items in our garage. Our garage is now filled with things… these videos would be so helpful for me to get my mind wrapped around where to start, etc Great video!
Oh I can imagine how overwhelming that must feel in the garage! We are right there with you! So much stuff to deal with!!! Thanks for watching and commenting ☺️
Aww thank you!! I am so glad you found the video interesting enough to want a 2nd part! Thanks for taking the time to drop me a comment and let me know 💛 Maybe we’ll even work on filming part 2 this weekend, 🤞 📦
Yay! I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know your feedback! I did not expect so many people to actually like this video so I will keep them coming 😊💛
Oh best of luck in November!! It will be much more pleasant to accomplish when it starts cooling down! 😅 Sorry, I thought I had already responded to your comment but I just realized I never did!
Aww thank you for being so encouraging! I am so happy this is motivating you because connecting with other likeminded individuals on here definitely motivates me to keep going too! Thanks for being here and taking the time to comment 💛
Thank you for the encouragement! You can do it too! I almost never feel like I have the energy to do this 🤪 But it feels so much better afterward. Thanks for being here and commenting 💛
Thank you so very much. I'm currently going through items I had with my ex for 10+ years and there has been times where it was hard to let things go, but I'm remarried and honestly don't want to have things in our home from the past mostly ( bad memories), now there are a few items I absolutely love and will be displaying in my new home. I loves what you said about mental memories not physical memories. Again thank you so much
Aww thank you so much for sharing this with me! You are so right! And those things don’t have a place in your new home if they’re bringing you down 💛 I am so happy to hear you have decided to only keep and display the items you truly love. Your home will feel so peaceful because of it 👍🏻 Thanks again for being here on this decluttering journey with us 💛
Aww yay! Thank you for the encouragement, as you know I wasn’t sure if this video was a good idea so thanks for the honest feedback. I love knowing what types of videos inspire you 💛
of course we wanna see part 2! I liked this video because of more reasons - it reminded me we are all humans and it's so easy to slip into having full basement or garage 🤷 and it gave me motivation because sometimes I struggle with decluterring because I started with like those people from shows about hoarders and I saw little progress but now it's definitely better, little progress is still a progress .. and I thought that I had it all finished and I remembered suddenly that there is a room at my grandma's that looks exactly like your garage and it's full of my stuff 😢 but I am realizing I am lookimg forward to decluterring that because I can feel so much being lifted of my shoulders already 😍 I cant wait to build our new house which is gonna be a "tiny house" which means minimalism also solved my financial problems, I don't need a mansion anymore 😀 keep going with the videos, I love them
THANK YOU for taking the time out of your day to comment and let me know your thoughts about this video but also in sharing a bit about your own decluttering story! I hear you, it is SO HARD keeping motivated when it feels like you’re making slow progress! That’s why I almost didn’t want to post this video, I was worried it would be boring and disappointing since we didn’t make a ton of progress. So thank you again for your encouragement to keep the videos coming. Also, I want to wish you the very best success in the room at your grandma’s, we can do this! You’ve already made so much progress!! Keep me updated! 💛
Its nice to see the progress! Too often I see the before and pinterest worthy after so when I tackle something and have to go back and back, it is discouraging. But seeing yours and knowing it will be more than one go through is helpful!
EXACTLY how I feel too! It’s so discouraging and feels like there is something wrong with me and our home if it doesn’t look like Pinterest says it should! I am so happy you found this video encouraging, as you know I had a lot of doubts about posting it for that very reason, it wasn’t a pretty outcome (yet) and didn’t look Pinterest worthy. I was worried it would be disappointing but I am relieved to hear that was not the case. 💛
I like to see this kind of video. Definitely when you're working on garages and basements it happens in phases and I like to see the progress. In the garage if you could tuck the big drywall pieces along the wall somewhere then the washer and dryer would be visible and could be sold to open up some space. Also in the basement maybe you can set up some zones like an area for belongings and furniture from the previous house that needs to be gone through, a renovation materials area, a tool/working area, etc. Then it might not seem so overwhelming. I highly recommend taking for yourself some before pics on your phone (even now) so when you feel discouraged look back and see how far you've come. We tend to forget what it looked like before and start to feel like we're not making progress when we are. Great job!
Thank you for all these wonderful tips! Because of your suggestion I stopped to take some before and after pictures 👍🏻 Also love your idea about zones! That does sound like it would make it less overwhelming. Thanks so much for being here and for taking the time out of your day to stop and comment, means so much!! 💛
I am so glad to hear this was motivating and thank you for your feedback! I was so uncertain about posting it in the first place since it is going to be a whole process and not an instant perfect after shot, so it was encouraging hearing your thoughts. Thanks for being here! 😊
Thank you for the encouragement! I had no idea this would really be interesting and was considering not posting it so thank you for taking the time to comment and let me know you’d like to see more parts to this process! 😊
Well done you guys! You deserve credit as well! No less than your husband, you were hauling the baby around WHILE decluttering and making decisions! You go mama!!💪😎 I am here for more! Subscribing right now. This is inspiring and you keep it realistic ☺ Love from me here in Reykjavík, Iceland 💙
Aww thank you so much for the encouragement! I am so glad this was inspiring to you as I was so hesitant to post it thinking it might not be a big enough transformation to be at all motivating, so it was so good hearing your feedback! Thank you for taking the time to let me know your thoughts and thanks for being here! 💛😊
Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know your thoughts! I am glad to hear this was interesting to you since I was so hesitant to post it. We will definitely have to film more of the process then 😊
Very random but I'm interested in that baby monitor where did you get it from and what brand is it it seems to work everywhere in your house outside and even in the basement that's really cool
I don’t necessarily recommend the baby monitor I have. We don’t love it. But it’s OK and like you said, it does seem to have decent range and it is still currently running and everything, so here is the link if you want to check it out: amzn.to/3lpcpOV
Well done! would love to see the progress going…for the appliances, I would suggest just scheduling Salvation Army to come and pick them up for you, speed up the process and give them towards a good cause! 😊
Thank you for taking the time to drop a comment! And thanks for the suggestion, I love that idea and speeding up the process is almost always worth considering! We will have to look into if there are any Salvation Army’s close enough to do a pick up. We live kind of out of the way so I’m not sure we have one anywhere near. But still love the idea! 💛
You definitely lifted your own weight when you were taking care of the baby you were doing something very important and he would not have been able to do the job he did if you didn't care for the baby.
I should not have assumed you had the same mindset as me when I first became a a stay at home mom but stuff can creep in. My husband is the one that said I couldn't do my job of you weren't home with the kids.
It is true though, you are absolutely right, stuff really can creep in if you’re not careful with keeping a healthy mindset! Sometimes it is easy to lose sight of the worth of what you’re doing when you do it every day without even thinking about it as “work”. That is really sweet of your husband to remind you as well and let you know you’re a team. My husband told me after having a baby he is so glad I wanted to stay home with her 🥰
Definitely want to see part 2. You are lovely and have a great video face and voice, but I am very concerned about how skinny you are. I have never seen anyone so thin especially after having a baby. Are you okay?
Thanks so much for the feedback about part 2! And about my weight, thank you for your concern 💛 All of my family are very thin too, so I think this is just how I was made 😘 I am a little lower than I would like right now and I tend to lose weight very easily and without intending too if I’m not careful, so I think nursing my baby really takes anything extra I have! But I assure you I am eating 3 full meals per day (+ snacks!) and staying as healthy as possible. Like I said, this is just how God made me I think. If I had the choice, I wouldn’t be quite so thin! 😆 Thanks again for the concern though and thanks for being here on the Channel 💛
Aww thanks so much for your kind words! It can make you worry when you get comments about being too thin right? But honestly I’ve always been this way and I just easily lose weight by accident if I’m not careful. I think nursing my baby really takes every last ounce of any extra weight from me! 😂 If I had my choice I wouldn’t be quite so thin but I am eating so what can I say! Oh, I am Christy by the way! Thanks for being a part of the channel 💛

I’m so excited to watch this basement episodes! Love the voiceover format of the video!
Would love to see you document more of your progress in these areas! They're so motivating, thanks for sharing!

2 of my favourites!
So glad to see a husband involved so many women are doing this themselves🥰
