I'm an old grumpy man who thinks today's music generally sucks, but I like this band a lot. Solid musicians, not using the polishing gimmicks many use today and her voice is not the least bit forced or cliche'.
Same as you - the first time I heard Heaven knows it pulled back into music. Pretty Reckless, along with Halestorm are my two favorite bands... been luck enough to see them both in concert as small venues---both put on great shows.

Gave it a chance. Video started, quite a classy blonde, not impressed, professional procrastinator higher standard applied.
She started singing... Holly f*cking sh*it!!! Lost like an hour banging, crazy dancing, singing along... energized like nuclear plant started coding while listening over and over..., till 4 am wrote 51 new files, 33 modified, including unit tests and it bloody f*cking worked!

I haven't heard the rest of WYSF yet; admittedly I'm behind on the album but the past two months have been sort of crazy for me. And Gines, I agree, it was simply the devil reference I meant since it was a big topic in GTH. I even know the song is an homage to Robert Johnson and The Rolling Stone's Sympathy for the Devil, it was simply the theme I was referring to. I don't think it is a lack of creativity, I think it is a nod back to the roots of the music she loves. I love her voice in this, and love the simplicity of the whole thing. Straight up rocking with no tricks.

other than the mention of the devil in both songs there's very little in common. The Stones tune is raw and bluesy and this is pop and slick. I love Sympathy for the Devil but this is very good.

This band is maturing nicely! I love how their sound is consistently evolving. This song really is catchy as hell. Also, even though Taylor is hot as hell, it's nice to see them stepping away from oversexualizing their videos for a change.

At this point, their only focus is their career, and that's when they evolve and improve their skills.

I just named about 75% of all chords. one thing about this one and steel dragons, is the changes are very similar to the chords. so it might seem repetitive. i like it, because the worst thing to happen to some songs, is the change-ups....

At that point, she was an actress playing a role (albeit she was an adorable kid)...I personally believe that the things that Taylor sings about are just more of her acting and playing a role of a rock n roll, sex kitten, lead singer of a dark band. I really like TPR's music however vocally she doesn't match a lot of other metal ladies so she's relying on dark themes and sex...

I think that's just because it's the single in order to appeal to a wider audience (fucked up world was definitely one of the catchiest but mellow ones of GtH and that was made a single ). I still really like it but I'm hoping the rest of the album will be like Oh My God.
Actually, "Fucked up world" was the first TPR song I heard. Yeah' it is pop- but of decidedly superior quality. I heard that and my first though was "Who is that? They are really good!" Then I heard "Going to Hell" and saw the video- and Taylor is now negotiating the purchase of my soul from Wendy O. Williams' estate. ;-)

I really liked the new album: "Who You Selling For". My favorite songs were: Take Me Down, The Devil's Back and Mad Love. I liked the trippy middle instrumental part of The Devil's Back, and the funk 'n' roll of Mad Love. But I do agree with the people who say a lot of these songs sound like other bands songs. They must have eaten a lot of South Park "Member Berries". But I really like the bands that they are emulating, so this didn't bother me. The important thing is, the songs are very good. This is another great Pretty Reckless album.
