    Quick tip for removing the side mouldings. On the inside you can push down on the tabs that stick in on the top of the moulding. Stops you from needing to worry about snapping it. Also, just got my reproduction manual from you, thanks a lot for supporting the Motocompo community.

      i grab it on the front and with alittle upward pressure localized on the clips, unclip just the bottom tabs then slide it out. mines custom painted and so far that technique has stopped paint damage

    Random question @Benny's Custom Works, at 10:01 you give us a precise measurement for the gearbox capacity of 500 millimetres, which is good info. But at what width and height do you pour that 500 millimetres? I'm just wondering if it's at a nominal 10mm wide and half a mm high?

    • @5UPRAH

    I was going to comment and say I have used the 7.2 nicads on my ct90 that needs a battery to run and they work and lights work also... they are slim enough to cable tie almost anywhere on the bike and they are easy to charge too... but I only have the 500mah charger so needs a 8 hour charge...lol

    In my experience you are better disabling the auto lube function on these small two stroke motors and premixing in the tank - when the auto lube system blocks and fails (and they do regularly) the first you know of it is when the piston seizes and eats itself. With older bikes as the parts get rare this simple method of premixing will ensure you always get the right oil/fuel ratios and don't have to scour the earth for new engine parts.

    • @ricky1022
      @ricky1022 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no ones makes a oil pump delete for these motors, the pump is lubed with oil so no oil will kill kill the pump and hurts value of bike

    Has it still got the original main jet in it? I know with Postie bikes adding an aftermarket filter/intake requires going up a jet size as there is a massive restriction in the factory intake. I imagine these have one as well to keep noise down.

    You said something about RC batteries. I'm curious as to if you could build one with AA NiCad batteries. They're 1.2v each fully charged. So 5 would give you your 6v. I've seen people make 18650 cells but those are lithium and I don't think would work for this. But the building the cell would be somewhat similar and less volatile. I've seen people make a spot welder out of an ignition coil and a motor cycle battery and relay. Would need nickel strips and could make your own battery I'd think. Maybe I'm missing something though.
