I remember going on a hike with my dad's girlfriend when I was a kid up in Springbrook Township, PA (just outside Scranton) and we both got stuck in nearly chest high mud and had to wiggle out of it. It was like quicksand. We were following the one line of utility poles down through the woods and the more we walked the more we sank. You never know what kind of hazards you'll find when you're out there.
@@samanthab1923 It certainly was. The kind of mud we encountered was like the one the woman from Random Outdoor Fun experienced while looking for a crashed plane in the woods of NJ. someone said in another video that when another bat was seen in a similar situation to call for help that it was dying. So sad and helpless to see a poor creature that has no way to get help. Wonder how they contract it?
I'm about to watch this now. I just came from a church where the program was called 'The Living Christmas Tree.' It was absolutely beautiful! A huge tree, with lighting that changed so many ways & times & folks were on platforms & blended with the tree which was huge. If you ever get a chance to see it you'll be blown away. I'm going to teach my preacher how to edit pictures useing stuff I've seen you do Jay. : )
@@JPVideos81 We has a nice time. The lighting board must have been very complicated with how many different lighting changes there were. I did one of you nice effects with the background with no colour and the tree in colour. Now my preacher wants to know how to do it. : )
From all the graffiti on the entrance it must not be a secret cave. lol Pretty cool place. Thanks for taking us with you cave crickets and all. Do cave crickets jump or anything other than creep people out? Glad to see you remembered your hat and made it out without falling in the mud. I loved this adventure!!!

According to the Pennsylvania Cave Conservancy, Davey Lewis Cave is at least 970 feet long, with several leads that are un-pushed. Never been in that one, but I've done a lot of caving nearby, so I'd love to see moar! Thanks again.

My Dad lives in Carlisle. He was born and raised there and returned there after retiring. He lived in Northern Virginia and way Upstate New York in between.

I am so claustrophobic but oddly love caves! I have been to all of the big ones like Carlsbad NM and Mamouth Cave in KY and then here in Ohio we have Ohio Caverns and a few others. Awesome video!

Great video! I was waiting for one of you to loose a boot in the mud! 😊 I have a pair of those to get through my yard in the spring when the snow melts and is ankle deep! All that graffiti is terrible! Wished people didn't do that! Those cave crickets and bats creeped me out! 😝 Walking all bent over isn't easy and then to do it in that mud! Wow, awesome limestone cave guys! I always think it's so funny seeing the comments about the camel/cave crickets, because I don't mind them. As soon as I realized they weren't spiders, I was like, aww crickets don't bite, & are kinda cute, lol. They will jump on you accidentally sometimes, but they're afraid of us & totally harmless. They're drawn to moist, dark areas. I left a damp towel on the porch, & there was a group of them huddled underneath. I went to wash it, & SURPRISE!!🦗🦗🦗😂😂😂🦗🦗🦗

Love the video, interesting and beautiful location. I looked up the info on David Robber Lewis and found he was know as the Robin Hood of Pennsylvania very interesting since I live in PA and had never heard of him. I am guessing the reason is that I live North near Lake Erie.
Can you think about trying to live in a cave? Way back in the cave men/women days. Must have been really dirty and hard. And you never know where quicksand might be. It was Interresting to see inside. All the carvings, bats & cave crickets & 'Kermit'. : )

If you do it on a hillside you can have windows in your underground home. Summer time, mostly stay in the above home, in winter you can save big time on heating bills in the underground home.
