  • This video shows exactly how you'll get to your resort after landing at Maldives International Airport. I show you how to check in at your resort's desk, and where you'll go to get on your speedboat or sea-plane to your private-island Maldives resort.

    I've been to Maldives 5 times and used the seaplane once - I thought there was more hassle doing this but the plus side is that aerial views are awesome but only certain resorts do them and you are charged at the resort. Speedboats are easy and no hassle every time we used it - maximum time we waited was 15 minutes but the waiting area was very stuffy

      We booked as well with sea plane transfer, and in the reservation says its included also the transfer. Is that right or they liying?

      I used the seaplane twice in the Maldives and the views are breathtaking- even the pilots say that it is the most beautiful view ever ( not the domestic ones haha guess they are used to it ) We flew once with Emirates and once with British Airways and both of the times the pilot announced- welcome to the most beautiful place on planet Earth (Emirates) and Welcome to Paradise( BA)
      Maldives truly are incredible- the whole tranquil feel to them and the ocean is absolutely incredible, I have never seen water this pure and turquoise anywhere else in the world

      @@rhea3133 I've used seaplane on one of the visits to the Maldives and yes the view from the seaplane is just amazing. Maldives is my favourite country along with Seychelles, Mauritius, Thailand and Malaysia.. I flew with Emirates from Birmingham to Dubai, then a stopover for a couple of hours onto the Maldives (Male, the capital city) which is around 3.5 hours flight. Maldives seawaters are the best - I've seen turquoise seas in different tropical countries but nothing can be amazing as Maldives - the only other place that can match Maldives is Bora Bora close to Tahiti but that place is more expensive than Maldives and a pain to get to as well especially from England

      Brother SMan right? I am on same page here.. I said that the only place that matches the Maldives would be Aitutaki - Cook Islands minus the water villa. The waters are so clear and warm in the Maldives because its a tiny island surrounded by coral reefs which filtrates the water
      We also flew to Dubai from London as a stopover with Emirates and second time with BA direct flight from Gatwick which only takes 10.5 hours but I gotta say Emirates are incomparable to BA but BA gets you there faster. The food was awful though lol

      @@rhea3133 I flew from Heathrow to Dubai using BA and Emirates on my first 2 visits to the Maldives, then the next 3 from Birmingham using Emirates every time since the airport is just a 40 minutes drive from where I live. Cook Islands is very close to Bora Bora so the waters will be very similar. A lot of the Maldives resorts are amazing - the best one I've stayed in was Gili Lankanfushi - the other 4 were Paradise Island, Meeru Island, Baros and One and Only Reethi Rah - I did visit Soneva Jani Resort as an Island Hopping Tour from one of the resorts I was staying in and that was amazing. Maldives is a beach holiday destination where other countries in the Indian Ocean such as Seychelles and Mauritius have a lot more to offer than jusr a beach holiday destination but Maldives turquoise waters are something else especially when you stay in one of the water villas

      Allan, I'm glad it helped. I don't have a video of Dubai Airport, but it's very easy (and also huge). To change planes just follow the signs. It's also very modern and new as well. Have a great trip. -Roger

      The speedboats to the resort cost quite a bit and have to be booked through the resort itself. Is that what you meant?

      @@rawjer I mean the shuttle to the seaplane transfer

    • @rawjer
      @rawjer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@alyssasnomad Ah, that makes sense. Yes, that is included in the price of the sea plane itself. You'll report to the sea plane company near baggage claim and then they will gather the passengers and put them on a bus to the sea plane terminal. Fortunately that little ride is free because the sea plane itself is quite expensive.

    Is the airport transfer by boat or plane included in the purchase of your resort stay?

    • @rawjer
      @rawjer 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Global Traveler, the airport transfer isn't included in the room price, but it will be bundled into your hotel bill one way or another. Usually, you see a nightly room rate and then when you book it will show you the transportation options and add that to the total you'll need to pay. -Roger

    Some resorts when you pre book they automatically charge for seaplane like kuramathi.What if we want to avail the speed boat option?. Did you people pre book the speed boat or at the time of arrival to male?

    • @rawjer
      @rawjer 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Khizar,
      In my experience the resorts always insist on booking your airport transfers for you. Some resorts offer both a sea-plane and a speedboat option, and after you book and provide your flight details they should give you that choice. I think the automatic charges are only for resorts that only have one option.

    • @rhea3133
      @rhea3133 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends how far the resort is- if it’s on the south atoll then the speed boat would take about 2 hours to get there so speed boats are for resorts which are closer to Male
