I agree, I wish it would go away too. But the problem sadly runs far deeper than just one industry. You'd have to get rid of the core tribalistic nature of human beings in the first place. That's the problem; we evolved as tribal beings and "modern society" has only begun relatively recently. Sadly many of us can't stop our tribal/primal instincts being applied to even stuff like our choice of entertainment, a place where that type of mindset should be left out. Well Phil, the most obvious thing Microsoft needs to do to convince the PC gaming community at-large is to not restrict their PC games to the HATED Windows 10 App Store. That's literally the biggest thing you could do to gain back PC gamers' trust. It's a really stupid policy anyway. You're not going to convince anyone to start using/love the Windows 10 Store by making your PC games exclusive to it. Your PC games would nom doubt do measurably better if they were available on every platform possible. I do recognize that Microsoft has released some of their PC games recently on Steam though, so credit where credit is due.
Well the problem there is that Microsoft, just like EA, Ubisoft and other big publishers really dont like the fact that selling their games on Steam, they dont get 100% of the revenue, but 30% of the revenue from every single game sold goes to Valve....thats why both EA and Ubisoft still have their own marketplaces running as well, even if some of their games would be available also from Steam- I mean ye, basicly all these companies would have to recognize that there isnt really anything they could do about this situation, cause Steam has already grown too big for things to change and in the end they could still get more money selling their games on Steam, rather than just selling them through their own marketplaces, but I do kind of get the corporate persective that you dont really want to give another company 30% from every game sold....while at same time wanting to build your own Store, cause really if their games would all come to Steam, then MS could basicly just shut down Windows Store entirely.... Besides as gamer who has played on PC since 1996, I never had any bigger issues with Windows store.....ye for sure its interface isnt the best one and all the mobiles games are there as well even if you go there from your PC, so all that should be organized better, but other than that and having trouble get some demos working, I never had any groundbreaking issues with it, and I never understood the amount of whining that seems to come from so many ppl that Windows Store is such big issue for some of you, that you would rather not buy the game, than even try to deal with the Windows Store....

Even though xbox is not the best selling console Phil completely changed Microsoft's messaging with the customer and has shown a lot of goodwill. I would love to see what Phil and his team can do when they launch the next Xbox. Don matrick left him with a mess to recover from and he's done his best. Great job Phil.

i mean no,lets be real here both consoles are awful when put against a pc,thought the ps4 does have exclusives,when xbox dont,so really its Pc>Ps4>xbox but i think a lot of people was disapointed this E3 and thats why the dislikes are here,being a fanboy of anything is bad and very childish,you must look at facts,and when it comes to gaming what has the best games,best performance,better settings,and value for money.and the xbox seems to be last in that,yes the xbox one X is powerful but if it has not games thats dedicated to the console.....whats the point?

The man thats slowly rebuilding this thing back to greatness. And somewhere Don Mattrick can hang his head in shame at the damage he caused to the XBox division. Phil is so much a breath of fresh air. You won't get a smug attitude with him, he admits the mistakes, and tries to keep in touch with the fanbase and he takes their input back with him to so he can better the XBox brand. He's got XBox locked back in and focused, and going into the next round its gonna be a good fun ride with all the 1st party he's been building.

Whoever takes over from Phil in the future has some BIG boots to fill. As a long time Xbox user and fan, I don't think we could ask for a better head of Xbox.
I wish we gamers could all get along and let go of this tribalistic console warring. It's pathetic. I've been an Xbox fan since 2001, but I'm willing to admit that it's had road bumps, and needs more exclusives currently. But I also love things about Playstation and dislike things about Sony. I just want good games on all fronts and a better community in this art form. And this is coming from someone who is primarily a PC gamer now. I hate all this toxicity.
I agree, I wish it would go away too. But the problem sadly runs far deeper than just one industry. You'd have to get rid of the core tribalistic nature of human beings in the first place. That's the problem; we evolved as tribal beings and "modern society" has only begun relatively recently. Sadly many of us can't stop our tribal/primal instincts being applied to even stuff like our choice of entertainment, a place where that type of mindset should be left out. Ideally, we wouldn't have that type of mindset about anything, but we're not anywhere near that far along as a species yet, despite how many of us brag about how "far above we are from the animals" when I still see us as basically just the "human animal"...

It happens when you are a gamer you want to talk about games, good games and games you had fun playing. Phil name drops games he likes all the time, probably needs to be careful dropping sony titles names though, the fanboys will rage.
Well Phil, the most obvious thing Microsoft needs to do to convince the PC gaming community at-large is to not restrict their PC games to the HATED Windows 10 App Store. That's literally the biggest thing you could do to gain back PC gamers' trust.
It's a really stupid policy anyway. You're not going to convince anyone to start using/love the Windows 10 Store by making your PC games exclusive to it. Your PC games would nom doubt do measurably better if they were available on every platform possible.
I do recognize that Microsoft has released some of their PC games recently on Steam though, so credit where credit is due.
Well the problem there is that Microsoft, just like EA, Ubisoft and other big publishers really dont like the fact that selling their games on Steam, they dont get 100% of the revenue, but 30% of the revenue from every single game sold goes to Valve....thats why both EA and Ubisoft still have their own marketplaces running as well, even if some of their games would be available also from Steam-
I mean ye, basicly all these companies would have to recognize that there isnt really anything they could do about this situation, cause Steam has already grown too big for things to change and in the end they could still get more money selling their games on Steam, rather than just selling them through their own marketplaces, but I do kind of get the corporate persective that you dont really want to give another company 30% from every game sold....while at same time wanting to build your own Store, cause really if their games would all come to Steam, then MS could basicly just shut down Windows Store entirely....
Besides as gamer who has played on PC since 1996, I never had any bigger issues with Windows store.....ye for sure its interface isnt the best one and all the mobiles games are there as well even if you go there from your PC, so all that should be organized better, but other than that and having trouble get some demos working, I never had any groundbreaking issues with it, and I never understood the amount of whining that seems to come from so many ppl that Windows Store is such big issue for some of you, that you would rather not buy the game, than even try to deal with the Windows Store....

In the 3,4 yeas since he has been in charge Xbox has done a lot for the gamers. Everyone talks about games and that absolutely is the big gamping hole but man everything else has been so well taken care of. And now with 5 new studios, the games will be coming. X Box, PS4, PC it really isn't the thing you play your games on, that's a matter of choice, it's the people that are passionate about games and have the experience and know how to make it happen that are keeping games alive and hopefully get gaming to reach its potential.

Phill has probably the best vision for the game industry. He's a forward-thinking guy who puts consumers first. The xbox x is probably the best thing the console industry needed after the PS4 became the most sold console of this gen. Good PR guy. Almost gets me to buy an Xbox after my 360 (which I still love), but then I look at facts realizing I can play everything on my PC, PS4, or Switch and move on with my life.
