This is why i love beekeeping, the amount of knowledge you can access is frightening, puts google to shame 😅 So many differing opinions, yet all can be valid. This dearth is a killer atm, we're close to the main countryside and theres hardly a flower in bloom. Thanks for the video Laurence, top man as always.
Thanks to you and Carl for that, always good to see and hear from beekeepers with other methods. A great and thought provoking video, trust you will do some more like that at some stage.
Hi. Really enjoyed the format of this video. I've had one of my hives reject inseminated queens (from your Buckfast F1 stock) twice this year even though they were hopelessly queenless for several weeks, my other 4 colonies accepted new queens with no issues. As you say, impossible to figure out why sometimes.
One of my queens is from a caught swarm but she was marked so not a feral colony and they have been one of my best colonies. So it was worth trying her out in a quarantine apiary and could have requeened if she was a dud.
Is there a link in which to buy one of Carls awesome Kangaroo queen. I’m 3 years into beekeeping learning all the time. My long term goal is to have placid calm bees. Great video.
Had hives requeen this year only to requeen 3 weeks later. Its been happening too much this year i wonder if theyre poorly mated due to the terrible weather. Anyone have any thoughts or similar experiences this year?
Yea, I have. My hives have seemingly requeened twice already. Supercedure the last time so clearly they weren't happy with their new queen and got rid shortly after
Am struggling to find Carls details to purchase any queens from him or a website to visit as said in your video that would find bottom of the TH-cam video .
I really enjoyed that video thank you . Lots of content in there . I too didn’t know what a Kangaroo 🦘 queen was. So thanks for explaining . If I would like a Kangaroo to add to my apiary , would I buy from Carl, yourself or the Kangeroo Island Bee Company in Oz ? Also I really like the short hive tool that Carl uses
@patrickmcauley151 Best to order online if possible. Or can you can call and we can take your details over the phone. Please don't send your bank details to anyone 😉
Unfortunately if bees were left to fend for themselves they’d die. Starvation (especially this year) and varroa would end them unfortunately. Beekeepers help the bees survive

Finally you made a video longer than 5 minutes, maybe most are looking for a quick video but there are some who needs a good video every now and again

Particularly enjoyed that video bud. Would like to see more like it.
I love this video. In my dreams I would like to have calm bees like those. I'm PT and I have the native Iberic genetics... super agressive
two swarms i caught this year had red dots on them, needless to say i did not squash them😉

"bought it off his missus just before they buried him" - Carl doesn't mess about 🤣
LOL!
Nice, I would like to sit down with Carl myself and have a cup and talk bees. Thanks.
Great video 📹.....
I couldn't see the link for Carl's site?

I see the queen in that swarm. She is marked.
Why are the bee keepers now interfering with nature. It's not right to do this .
Without 'interfering with nature' we wouldn't have honey bees!!

You need to go back and get Carl to specifically share his knowledge on breeding
