How Police Officers Investigate Crime

  • What do these investigation officers from Singapore’s Tanglin Police Division do on a 12-hour night shift?
    Real life isn’t quite like police dramas #Brooklyn99, #LawandOrder or #CSI. CNA Insider shadows the officers as they respond to crime cases in an area that ranges from Bukit Timah to Bishan, Orchard Road and Kampong Java.
    Solving crime, however, extends far beyond the 12-hour shifts which they pull 4-5 times a month.

      Or for any enforcement officers. In 🇸🇬, 🇲🇾 or anywhere else. One does this kinda job because you own the job. People around you expect you to be good at it. A thank you is welcome but that's not why you do it. Of course burn outs occur. That's a risk you already know. If you can't hack it, just leave. Thankless really.

      Tuan, unresolved cases are KIV cases... Keep in View. They aren't closed, just dormant till something new about them crops up. When you have 2 dozen or more cases per officer expect things to go slowly but surely. From the outside, sure, brickbats fly... but these guys aren't playing golf 99% of the time. That's the nature of investigations

      You do not require any particular course to join IO. Once you sign on Direct Entry Sergeant with diploma, you will usually start as a Ground Response Officer at a Neighbourhood Police Centre. Subsequently once you get a few years of experience, then you can apply for IO which they will teach you the skillsets required if you are selected. If you sign on Direct Entry Inspector with a degree, you will go through a few posting and one of it will usually be IO.

    • @techgamerboy8807
      @techgamerboy8807 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be an IO, you need to join as a direct entry inspector, and the minimum requirement is at least a University Degree in any field. Or your second option is to join as a direct entry sergeant first, for that , the minimum requirements are at least an O lvl cert,NITEC/Higher Nitec/Poly cert.
      They’ll post you to a NPC for around 2 years and thereafter, you may then look out for postings to your desired division ie (investigation).
      You may read more at SPF’s website if you’re really keen.

    As a woman's have to say if met like sexual case or happened at the work place , or plus unfair work place , and plus if met a employers pretty bad I believe when reports to HQ police force department I guess takes time to for an request for an fairly outcome I believe woman's always the weak or disadvantage, we also don't wish to given them burden or really find issues or given to the police force for any department , because also seeking for the justice, and a fairness outcome for the protection for the woman's., Don't know why takes so long to investigation for a sexual case, I guess for those like rape, or died, or remove those bodies or those very extreme case, will faster, but if like that cannot force we as a victim go and harm ourselves to died, then will charges the person on court ?? Haizzz, woman's no matter what are the disvantage ij the society, hopefully all the woman will not get hurt, and also adding me for stress, and low mood condition plus needed to see counsellor, hopefully will have justice and a fairly outcome will be given

      read the description, they made comparisons of real-life experiences of police officers to those of police shows. that's why they used those hashtags.

    Oh so busy, no wonder I reported sexual assault and my IO didn't give me any updates at all for the whole 2 years and kept ignoring my emails.

      And my IO refer my case to the court and get me charged. I was assaulted and there was a cctv footage of it

      @@hafiz-.- I'm sorry to hear that. My IO didn't call me to inform me that they let off the perpetrator with a warning. So I was left waiting for the results in vain for months. The whole thing took 2 years 3 months and they caused me so much distress, victim-shaming me and such. I hope they get a taste of their own medicine and you will be able to free yourself from this system.
