After you lasso her and then blur, how do you deselect and still see the texture? I'm having trouble seeing what you did or getting it to work on mine,
Make sure you are on the texture layer. Lasso around her, then go to Filter--> Blur--> Average. CMD+D on a MAC will remove the marching ants.

Hi Barbara. Love your editing. When I import a texture in to my file, PS is automatically bringing it in as a smart object, which then affects selective filter averaging. I notice your textures are not smart objects. How can I fix this?
Right click the layer and choose rasterize layer.

We so admire your work! Thank you for sharing your vision and especially thanks for showing us how you achieve it. Unfortunately, due to COVID, our studio work has completely evaporated as requiring proof of vaccination and wearing a mask makes the whole exercise impossible. Alberta, Canada.
