I watched the show syndicated in the 70's & 80's , owned the 45's from a Kellogg's Cereal too & everything. This song is so nostalgic & soothing. I must have played that 45 a bazillion times before my double digits. Just think, this is precursor to what we know as music videos before MTV came along. Hanna-Barbara did good work here, along with Sid & Marty Kroft on costume & set designs before starting their own production company, & it worked, right down to Mutt N Stuff on Nickelodeon last decade. Back then...no internet, no smartphones, no CD'S, no mp3, just TV, records, local radio, 8 track & cassette...good times. Anyway, thanks for the nostalgia.
I had that too in the 70's & 80's, worth it. Records? In a box of Kids cereal? Who'd besides Us would believe that in a million years today? Mindblowing🤯.
I've been doing a little digging (no pun intended) - Looks this could have been filmed in a remote area of Southern California known as Mammoth Wash. Still popular for dune surfing today, apparently.
Truth, it is a Tommy Hunt, I do like The Splits' version of the song though. The Catanooga Cats covered "My Girlfriend is a Witch by obscure 60's band October Country.
Who were those people in the dune buggies? Were they specially commissioned to be in this show, or was it just random stock footage? And if so, does know anybody what show the footage was from originally?

I first heard this song as a kid on a 45rpm disc that came in a Kellogg's cereal box! I still have it.

I love this video and the visuals of the carts running in the sand and the banana buggies on the ground. A very pretty song!
“You’d never make it in the movies. “ Not the biggest compliment.
Gonna start saying that to my crush lol
I had this record when i was a kid, I am so glad to find this song on here, i lost that record years ago
This is a nice song!! And the video is so peaceful. They look so funny and cute!! I love them.
Come to think of it, such could've done well on FM stereo in the late 1960's, back when "easy listening" prevailed.
Funny watching Snorky and Fleagle bump their buggies!
Calming
2024 anyone?
Quiet, isn't it....George....Michael....Dolenz....
The famous "Banana Buggys"
Would've been so cool if this aired on Love American Style.
I loved that show too, albeit it was syndicated when I watched it though.
Or, even better, preceding the sign-off announcement on some small-market TV station, as graciously archived throughout TH-cam.
Groovy man groovy
1:23 - Hmm..the steering wheel column on the buggy doesn't appear to be connected to anything !
I need a lyrics please
I wonder where the dune surfing footage was filmed ?
Maybe Death Valley? Although it looked pretty expansive, so maybe even the Sahara itself?! Those dune shots are incredible.
I ausume it’s Drooper singing
I could very be, as "Doin' the Banana Split", "Soul", and Wait til Tomorrow" are Fleegle songs.
Snorky does the Ragtime piano song.
Bingo probably does "Adam Had em" and gonna find a cave".
Drooper and bingo sing all of the songs and Fleegles puppets and feegle
That's an old Tommy Hunt song.
Didn’t know that... damn.
@@batcaveloner1383 Sarcasm? :O) Judging by some comments, many didn't
No sarcasm man... I think I like this version more it’s more soothing.
