This song and music has helped me understand my ex, the love of my life who is battling addiction with heroin and meth. He was ckean and had so many dreams and ambitions after he got out of prison in 2017. Slowly he fell back to his old ways in the last 2 years. Now hes somewhere out there looking at life if he gets caught again. My heart i love him still

Just came across this video and ive got to say how it really hit home. At 15 i made a lot of bad decissions and by my early 20's was a drug addict in jail. Got out and drank the next 15 years away. No home,no children, no nothing living under a bridge. Since then i have faught and faught to get back up and with the grace,love and help from God i am now happily married, own a small farm, love every day and work hard. If you think your down and out then start climbing, dont give up, don't surrender, it can be done ! Havent cried in a long time but this song.....

It was the hardest thing I ever had to deal with, leaving me with our two kids to continue raising. I am so glad that I had the family network I have, otherwise I may have gone the wrong direction. I have just recently found your music, but you truly are inspirational to so many. Keep up the great work. They say that you stop growing mentally after abuse like that. Well I was about 10 years old and I have spent the last 20 getting these rocks out of my life. Thank you for this song. Im sorry for that terrible thing that happened to you! For me, my brothers and my mom, it was merciless physical and emotional abuse. I allowed it to make me angry and prone to violence. Drug and alcohol abuse was my escape. I finally decided I hated myself, so suicide was the next logical choice. Then I remembered what I learned about God as a child. I finally forgave my dad for how I was treated and forgave myself for all the damage done by my choices. Forgiveness is key, and I dont think anyone can truly forgive without accepting forgiveness themselves.

One night a week the program has a one hour night class in which close too 30 patients attend . She played this song at the class and she said that the room got completely quiet and EVERY single patient in the class had tears rolling down their cheeks including another counselor and the intern! She has worked in substance abuse for 20 years and said it was the best class she has ever attended to where the class went an hour longer because of the emotions your song sparked!!! Just came across this video and ive got to say how it really hit home. At 15 i made a lot of bad decissions and by my early 20's was a drug addict in jail. Got out and drank the next 15 years away. No home,no children, no nothing living under a bridge. Since then i have faught and faught to get back up and with the grace,love and help from God i am now happily married, own a small farm, love every day and work hard. If you think your down and out then start climbing, dont give up, don't surrender, it can be done ! Havent cried in a long time but this song.....

Im sorry for that terrible thing that happened to you! For me, my brothers and my mom, it was merciless physical and emotional abuse. I allowed it to make me angry and prone to violence. Drug and alcohol abuse was my escape. I finally decided I hated myself, so suicide was the next logical choice. Then I remembered what I learned about God as a child. I finally forgave my dad for how I was treated and forgave myself for all the damage done by my choices. Forgiveness is key, and I dont think anyone can truly forgive without accepting forgiveness themselves.
I don't have anything I can say to you. I don't know your pain. All I can say is that I hope that you are happy and healthy these 2 months down the road.

Hey Brother, I want say all your songs are kick ass! This song is my favorite song! I played this song for my X-wife who is a substance abuse and director of a in patient substance abuse program . One night a week the program has a one hour night class in which close too 30 patients attend . She played this song at the class and she said that the room got completely quiet and EVERY single patient in the class had tears rolling down their cheeks including another counselor and the intern! She has worked in substance abuse for 20 years and said it was the best class she has ever attended to where the class went an hour longer because of the emotions your song sparked!!! Tom I have to say this song speaks LOUDLY to me, I'm so sick of seeing people suffering and no one is willing to help in any way. Sometimes just a simple "how are you today?" means the world to some. Usually I can't stand anything even close to Rap, but Tom McDonald is definitely changing my opinion. I haven't heard anything from him about drugs, money, n hoes! I try to think 'God put us all here to help each other', I hear a lot of that from Tom's songs!
Tom has come such a long way in 4 years. He used to rap about all that... Sex, money, badass cars, ect. Just like everyone else. He was lost, now he has meaning in his songs! I love where he is right now and i hope he keeps it up!

I heard this one this past Saturday for the first time. This one hit home so hard in 2021. Everyone so offended by words today that we care more about what people say that hurts their feelings while ignoring real problems everyday people are facing. I'm 57...had one or two rap songs I liked but that was it. Until I heard Tom's music. I'm hooked. I'm an old metalhead, and I think what drew me in at first was the hard edge to his music...then I listened to the lyrics and realized how intelligent this guy is. He speaks truths many don't want to hear.
