haven't tried building a submarine yet (toying with an idea for a submersible though) but it seems to me that If you build the submarine largely how you would like it to be with most heavy components installed, and then measure out equal distance from the center of gravity point to the front and back and make identical ballast tanks you should get an equal amount of bouyancy without much trial and error.
I wish there was weight stand-ins and theoretic power testings in this game. I mean yeah you can test trial and error for things like buoyancy with ballast tanks or lift with a certain engine and gear ratio, but that ends up changing as you add more and more stuff on it and I feel like I can't actually accurately test it until I have filled a bit of it in. And then it becomes an annoying game of "do I completely renovate the setup I have to accommodate the change I need or do I build the accommodations around the existing setup?" If there was like a weight stand-in besides weight blocks or just spamming in batteries and a way to quickly test power setups of the effect an increased load of just the vehicle itself would make would be great. I run into this a lot when building helicopters. Slap down an airplane engine or 2, hook up the bare bones for them. Test it. It flies. Add on everything else, Fire it up for it's maiden flight and it's a rock..... I would have liked to have known I needed to change things when they could easily be changed. Also, sorry if I'm venting a little, we need to know the optimized grip % for the various wheels and tank treads. I know with treads track tension you generally want the total sum of all wheels, both drive (the gear-like ones) and guide (the round ones), that are in contact with the ground on the same track to equal 100%. So if you have a tracked vehicle with 5 wheels on each side with 3 of them contacting the ground, you'd need an average of 33% track tension on those ground contact wheels. One of them can have 34. This is what I've discovered through simple trial and error, but the margin of variable is a lot smaller for treads on vehicles.
You deserve a like and a subscribe as I started out this game and the best I know on how to build as in build I mean ad player tools/outfits edit: thanks to only part one I was able to build a large sub that works
From a realistic view point this is kinda weird. The air inside the ballst tanks before flooding has to go SOMEWHERE. Just pumping in the water wouldn't get rid of the air so the pressure inside the tanks would get incredible high. Is air a viable "fluid" / volume in Stormworks? Or does the game not recognize air as such?
As of v.0.4.50, I cant seem to get fluid pumps to work in advanced mode. Everything is connected, electrical to switches and pumps, switches are connected directly to pumps. However, no particle effects from ports. Is this a bug?
What if one of your pumps doesn't work. The one in the back works perfectly fine, but the one in the front says that no water is coming in. I even put portholes in both sides, but the front one still didn't work. Can you tell me if this is just a bug or if there is reasoning behind it.
The hard part is keeping an electric supply for long journeys and enough diesel/jet fuel (if you want to use jet fuel) for at least an hour (one of my career missions took me quite a while.) If they are sinking maybe try to make the ship lighter.
My sub does not wanna sink... it takes about 10 minutes (I used 2 fluid port and the pipes but change the small pump to a large one) Maybe I have to big tanks?
I love that this guy just dedicates his time to teaching us things he taught himself
thats how the oldest teachers were
Yes my wish has been granted a sub tutorial
Keep this channel on because it helps someone
For guys just like me
One of the videos all your viewers wanted

thanks for clearing my eyeballs with family friendly content. may god bless you.
why did the beginning remind me of a minecraft giant tnt cannon tutorial
Music and maybe mic quality

Llllllllllllllloooooooooooonnnnnnnnnggggggggg
Welcome to stormworks.
Really good you definitely deserve more subscribers
actorpus The great I was just about to comment that
Your tutorials are the best!
Woah! This video is before he even had 500 subscribers!
great tut-vids mate! subbed! keep up the works!
yes thank you i've been waiting for this
His mic quality has improved so much since the release of this vid
Congrats!, 300 Subcribers :)
hah

Great video
Nize you are my favorite youtuber tutorial Stormwork
they should have built the titan like that
ah yes...controlled sinking, sort of like a controlled plane crash, but with a lot less screaming...because it's hard to scream as you're drowning.
Thx for ur guides bro
the thumbnail of the game itself (not the YT video) is fm fourite part

No, air basically does not exist in Stormworks.
To remove water, all you do is pump it out.
Air is a fluid in Stormworks. The only uses for Air that I know is keeping engines running.
Thanks for the video
Anyone else watching the all the submarine building episodes just to find the correct way to put the small fluid pump
not trial and error
use logic to create a program that balances the tanks itself
Bigger pumps are not working for me. Thanks for the upload. Cheers
Do career mode

Same thing here. I think that the update of the developers had cause some bugs.
I would use the other pump
Aren't ballast tanks need to be left/right instead of front/rear? I mean for the obvious design reasons? :) (or entire bottom for that matter).

There was a crane in the creative base?
Can you next make a advanced ship tutorial? I watched your speedboat one but I cant seem to get to gripes with building larger ships
(They all sink)
@@jugostran check for holes

"Go ahead" once every 18.2 seconds an average. Impressive.
Approx 50.05 go aheads
That seems too low for some reason I may have done my math wrong
I used the ballast on the bottom would that also work?
yes
I make similar sub, but The pump doesnt working. What's wrong with the sun??
please come back
I can do the same sistem in a bigger submarine??
The memories
Any idea if this is outdated?
I'm sorry for the noob question, but how do even set your controls to delete without having to painfully click on the eraser
If you use keyboard use 'x', I hope this help, took me a while to figure out.
My sub does not wanna sink...
it takes about 10 minutes

Same here, did you ever get it to work.
Do you have a discord or somwhere i can contact you?
I’m in the Stormworks Server which is linked in the description. I will start my own server when I reach 500 subs 😉
Because to set up a discord server takes time. I assure you I will have one but not right now. :)

How do people get colors that aren't on the pallet? Do they have to edit the xml?
If you click that larger circle at the bottom of all the colors you can then make custom ones in game.
@@MrNJersey thanks alot! Earned a sub btw loving the vids, even if I know how to do some/most of the stuff.
So many good tut u have ny sub
thanks
Upgrade your mic?
How do you have that boat lift?
Might be from an older version
Stop “going ahead and doing things” cause now I have no idea how much weight to do on the bottom!
just put weight on the bottom and see how stable it is
How do you pump air in?
Pump the Water out
oooh 0 dislikes, there's almost always that one guy
Old crane looks old
Muy bueno. Jajaja. A mí el barco se me hunde de costado
I see. Well submarine isn’t that hard than i thought it would be
Could you do a twin engine plane tutorial
the bachelor
hello. are you South African by any chance
Plz do a hovercraft toturial
Never mind got it
Good tutorial but dont just change the submarine instantaneously its pretty annoying brcause my submarine doesnt do as hid submarine.
Is this outdated?
+1 sub
Dis a old vid :o
I cant find the pipes
Did you enabled advanced mode? If not, try again with enable advanced mode
Check if Fluid is available in your logic links.
Pls dont skip i cant not build it
а она затонула...
i made a box and it looks better
We did Joe get the game
WhO's Joe!!1!?
@freezingfalcon nah

Wow
First
You can't even go slow
