First of all, I love your videos and your tips. I am following many of them, or maybe all, and I am changing the way I dress. I love jeans! I just got a pair of straight leg ones and now I will look into the wide leg style. I don't like the flare or boot cut ones. Those would be my last option, but they looked great on you in the video and on the models that you showed. Keep on the tips coming.
My favorite jeans are straight leg. With my apple shape and 5'3'' height, they are the easiest to style overall. I like the boot cut as well, now that cooler weather is here. A thinner sweater and cropped jacket with short boots are a great look, Thanks Deirdre for your demo. It was helpful and entertaining too!
Hi Deirdre. I have 3 pr high-waisted skinny jeans, 2 mid-waist "mom" jeans and 2 pr of bootcut that I've had for about 20 years. Lol I'm in my late 60's and boy has my body changed over the last decade especially. I went from lovely muscular hourglass in my 40's to somewhere between a rectangle to apple shape and significantly fatter now.😢 I've also got mid to lower back scoliosis which contributes to my full waist and I've shrunk 2 inches in height partly due to the scoliosis and some osteopenia. I tell you, aging is NOT for the week. I loved all the suggestions in the video, as I do with most of your videos. I just don't know how much I can away with and still hide the "hump" from my spine and also try to create the illusion of a waistline. I have my work cut out for me. Wish you were in the US, so you could give some of us "makeovers!' 😊
I love your analogy of jeans as your best friend! My fave jeans are a dark rinse straight leg style with a slight boot cut. Very slimming. I found the best brand for me (5'4" size 14) are Levi's and NYDJ.
Hi Deirdre, I prefer straight leg jeans. I wear wider legs with tailored and linnen trousers, but jeans are items for several years, and therefore I don't want them to be too trendy. Love your videos!

Oh Deirdre wearing jeans can be a minefield……that’s why your video is so helpful for us to look stylish and modern in them. I’m just barely 5foot tall so I have to be really careful. I have had success with skinny’s, but am coming round to straight leg now. I also have some boot cut black trousers which look good, so must invest in that shape of jean…now I know what footwear to team with them 👍many thanks 🌸 ,

What an informative video, thank you. I recently bought a pair of wide legged jeans and I love them, as they cover my weirdly shaped legs, so I look relatively normal😂. They took a bit of getting used to after my boot cuts, as they aren't tight across my butt. Just hope skinny never comes back😊.

Many of us will not wear another pair of shoes for perhaps the next 3 months. However, boots with spikes will be our winter fashion. The comfortable shoes you suggest are ideal for home.

This video was extremely helpful. I’m 5’2”. Finding petite jeans is sometimes problematic. I’ve yet to find a brand of jeans that fits perfectly. I end up “settling” for a so-so brand and more times than not, I have to return them.

I so agree with you on cigarette pants and straight jeans - as a 5ft hourglass, I have learned that these are the only styles I can really get away with! I like the way that you are elevating your look such as the hair falling to one side, and some slightly more classic items which you've been showing. I also like the additions that you have made to your jewellery wardrobe - would love to hear an update on your current pieces. Great tips!!! I am 4'11" so I am loving cropped bootcut for the summer but now winter is on the way I will be going back to longer ones mostly since I wear alot of boots. I think cropped ones are great in the summer for showing off sandals.
I’m a very small size but with chunky legs. I never show my legs, and I wear straight or flare jeans. You need to wear what looks best on you. I liked your white shirt look and the tucked in tank, both.
I am 5'2" and bought a couple pairs of flares last year. They look great, but even the petite length ones needed a bit of hemming. Aargh. Good luck Marilyn!

I have several boot cuts jeans and I also have several straight leg or slim leg that I wear with tunics. As for foot ware, I live in Florida so sandals are daily wear, til we get to cooler weather ( if it ever comes ), I have sever boots… ankle and knee high. Love your channel, your ideas and energy. Loved watching this video. I have never used blouses as " jackets" over tops but I have some nice long sleeve blouses so will look into finding a white tank top to try this. I'm top heavy so always avoided white and tank tops but think I will try it. Great video!

I do admit it’s hard to find jeans for the more petite size that’s not ridiculously long in the legs. I don’t agree with the view that older women can’t wear jeans, they are versatile and go with most things.
Hi my favourite jeans are the Eva boot cut from marks and Spencer perfect fit for me. I am UK size 10 5ft 8 they are a high rise cut reasonable priced too I now have them in every colour. Great video on what to pair with our jeans I am 61 and still love my jeans dressed up or down. Thank you x

Dark to medium wash, straight leg jeans…mainly because I predominantly wear flats, even though I’m only 5 ft tall. Flares are ok, but frequently are too long even with my lower heeled boots.

I prefer straight leg as well. At 77 I think they are more comfortable and look slightly dressier for my genre.

Baby boot cut might be best for you. NYDJ makes them. They are expensive, about $100-$120 a pair. Costco sometimes has them for a lot less.

Cropped pants cut the leg off, so I never understood why ladies like them. Bootcut are my fav and now trying wide leg too.

Dark to medium wash, straight leg jeans…mainly because I predominantly wear flats, even though I’m only 5 ft tall. Flares are ok, but frequently are too long even with my lower heeled boots.
