I was super nervous in the beginning since i'm still pretty new to D&D. You can tell I was much more comfortable toward the end. I would love to learn what some tips you use as a player to get into the character instead of using the third person when roleplaying? Thanks for supporting the series!
I think the best thing to do is just to have some confidence and try to have fun. In my opinion, DnD is best when you are just going along acting. Don't worry about messing up or anything like that, it just plays into the character. And I think you did really well.
It's harder on zoom for sure but ambiance and atmosphere help live RPG sessions for me, maybe work on a theme/image on your green screen or props that make you feel more like you are in character accessories perhaps?
I am an old time player. I have been playing since ADND 2nd edition and have been loving the content. I really miss the game since life happened so this is a great way to reminisce about the game. Thank you for this.
Merchant and Alias' accents are hilarious, I've no idea how Craig is keeping a straight face. And each of these characters are just brilliant. Loving it so far!

I've listened to ever podcast you guys have on spotify, and when I heard you guys were stopping I was devastated. You guys are seriously the only dnd podcast group I consistently love listening to. So I came to the channel to support. I was literally telling my boyfriend today how bummed I was about my favorite group disbanding, and on a whim I checked your spotify account and saw you posted yesterday! I literally screamed haha. Welcome back guys!!!
At least they managed to fight him inside... and alone. What madness is it that he is suggested as a level one encounter?!?! This was an IDEAL situation for it, and he's still just nuts!
@@kelanjanneck3286 I mean, that's pretty much how it went for my group. They jumped him at night in Easthaven, and it just kept getting crazier, and at the end, they were so desperate to be sure he was dead that they burned everything before they could try to examine what he was.
Definitely one of the best actual plays of Icewind Dale so far, and sticking fairly close to source. That's a hell of a scrap to start with for 1st level guys, and top marks to the characters for pulling it off. And the carpet Vs longsword scene cracked me up.
I’m so excited for this. I recently started my first ever D&D campaign as a Goliath fighter and I’m looking to pick up some great tips. Listening to Merchant for 2 hours straight is just great on its own, but even better as a DM and with the awesome group here.
I love how you present your campaigns for viewing. For instance, the background music, it keeps my attention in what may otherwise be a struggle with other D&D video play-throughs. That, together with the solid DMing and colorful role playing makes this one of my favorite channels to watch D&D games.
I really have a hard time listening to online campaigns. I have to say, you are a FANTASTIC DM and I am really enjoying your content! Thank you for sharing!
When I decided to learn DnD you guys are the first video I ever watched. I was hooked from the first episode and have watched every DnD video you all put out. I have incorporated "Banana bread!" Into my every day life. I missed Always Turtle her low rolling caused some interesting situation.

From Candlekeep Mysteries to Descent into Avernus to Rime of the Frostmaiden after this series I'm checking out Curse of Strahd. I'm thoroughly enjoying watching you guys play. I know most of the modules like the back of my hand except for Candlekeep that one is brand new to me.
I've watched all your dnd videos and have loved every minuet of all your content. Craig rules!!!! So good to see this as the players from all your champagnes. Justin in all his snooty glory. Craig master of both worlds. And alias and her smash mouth style in which we all love. Connor glad to see you doing dm again but always have been the best player on here but it gives new blood a chance to win our hearts. Great first episode I was in tears of laughter only 35 mins in. Okay, waited to the end to comment... Merchant what did you assail them with? The character you instilled into this “ice wraith” (?) was a blast to watch! Tickling the players with a tpk in session one was a giggle inducing experience. I love how much everyone is diving into their characters, please keep it up! The investigation turning into an interrogation at the market was pure gold! Great start to your campaign everyone, so glad to have you back!
I can't watch because our group is gonna run the encounter ourselves, but I'm so happy to see you back on D&D. Curse of Strahd was amazing, and I loved Guildgates as well.

I've tried watching other Icewind You Tube groups. Finally, a party whose PCs actually ask meaningful questions, like "real" characters would do. Jus t started watching you guys, bu liking it so far.
man you have the perfect dming voice. i should go watch the curse of strahd campaign but after running it myself any mention of strahd triggers my flight or fight response
So glad you're doing this again. I started playing after watching your first campaign, and both you and Craig had a huge influence on me as a novice DM.
Omfg, I am watching the beginning to come up with a reason why my character is hooked into the plot, and this is perfect. I am playing an Ice Witch with the Midwinter Child(Cold Resistence) secret, who fled to Icewind Dale years ago after her village accused her of ice-magic related crimes. I can easily be a prime suspect, lol.
Loved the first session. My guys destroyed Sephek with amazing rolls so didn’t get to down any of them. Defo thought the Warlock was gonna be dead dead with that second 12 damage 😂

Don't worry, using third person is also okay! Just ease yourself in your own pace, that way you'll organically get better

I'm excited. As someone who doesn't play much MTG anymore, but runs multiple D&D sessions a week, I am glad to see the D&D content back.
