That's a fact no one comes close to being good as CDI there are few companies that do the job well but no where near the level CDI operates.

Awesome. I remember seeing this up close in the early 90s as the projects were knocked down in Newark, NJ. To feel the vibrations from the explosions is special.

Another well-done video, especially the aerial view. It's very interesting to see the sequence of the detonations. The aerial view shows much better the actual collapse. Other views have too much of the dust cloud obscuring what's happening.
I think I see in the lower left corner of the aerial view the very first explosion. I had never thought before (duh) that when the plunger is pushed down, it sets off just one explosion that starts the whole chain reaction through all the miles of carefully placed wires.
It occurs to me, and what do I know, that only one detonation would be used to start the process. To me, multiple wires into the plunger might not fire at exactly the same time, which could affect the planned sequence. Or maybe a couple seconds doesn't matter. Like I said, what do I know?
I appreciate your responses to my previous comments. Way cool! I can feel a tiny part of the team.

This shows just how stupid our corporate government is. Destroy a reasonably sound building instead of creating more housing for at least the homeless.

The old 2,000 bed hospital dated from 1912. Can you imagine the cost of updating a building that old? Think in terms of HVAC systems alone. I'm sure that 88 years of wear and tear had taken their toll. The structure may not have been in good enough condition to renovate.

There’s a short article in Wikipedia about the hospital. At one time, it was the largest privately owned hospital in the US.
