Bernini used clay models, but generally they were smaller than his original works. The results of the clay can be quite alarming, in that the white of the plaster will expose every flaw in the clay. That is why I highly urge artist to use plaster before turning into a bronze.

I use a water bound non grog potters clay.
What kind of clay do you use for this?
This is a water based clay. It is a light buff color, and contains no grog. the brandname is Maccabees sold from Laguna Clay
