If you mean the background of the main screen, then yes. As long as you have a picture. But there are pre-installed themes and live backgrounds also. You can also customize the outside dotted screen to do what you want as well.
@spsbandgirl its a Korean term of respect that girls use towards older guys. It typically means "older brother" and is normally used from a girl to a guy of interest :)
@OtakuPanda13 You can read Korean fonts on this phone. But you can't type in Korean. The languages available on the American version (dLite, not Lollipop) are English and Spanish.
@nelchan13 I bought the phone on Ebay for around $80 USD. It works here in the US and also works on GSM bands in Africa (I visited Kenya recently). It should work. It is a quad band phone. But for 3G only 1700 and 2100 frequencies work. But either way the phone will work in any country that has GSM sim cards, but 3G is limited to those two bands.
@2Ne1minzyfan You're right. My friend was playing around with the phone before I made the video. I think she added my number into the phone and wrote oppa. I was surprised, and thought I'd leave it in.
@Tsumugari67 You can use mp3 files stored in your phone's memory or micro sd card for ringtones. The songs I tested were all over 3mb. For backgrounds I used the pictures available on the phone. I feel the phone is much more customizable that older LG or Samsung flip phones. The external dot-lcd is also customizable, meaning you can make your own animation. My Taiwanese friend, she really likes this phone. Any person can pick up this phone enjoy its simplicity.
Well if its a phone from Korea, you'll need to make sure its a GSM phone that supports America's GSM bands. Just make sure the phone is quad band at least. T-mobile is 1700/2100 and At&t is 850/900. It may sound complicatd, but you need to make sure its a gsm phone and it works on the carrier's band. Most gsm phones will work.
@BanzaiHearts The phone should be able to send pics with messaging. Its been on all phones since years ago. Try call tmobile or go to a tmobile store, they may need to enable picture messaging on your phone.
@xxcottonmonsterxx I just checked out the website. It says "Out of Stock." Sorry. But a month ago I saw them being sold at the T-Mobile store. Maybe it depends which store. You could sell your phone and use the money to buy the dLite on Ebay.
no they aren't the same because the Korean version has a 3.2 megapixel on the back but the dlite is 2mpg and the lollipop has a front camera.the lollipop is a little faster and heavier and it can store more data.
Fake mean the buttons feel different and there is no backlighting on the buttons. The battery cover has a different paint coating. If you buy a Dlite from, say a Retail store in the US, UK, Korea, etc. you will see the box relates to actual product and manuals don't feel like newspaper. Check out other generic phones coming out of China on TH-cam videos, such as fake Galaxy S3 to fake Galaxy Nexus.
Hi! I was wondering where you purchased this phone. I currently dont have a phone so i thought this would be a great substitute. Please let me know who and where you purchased it from. Thanks :)
@nelchan13 Thats ok :) I think amazon should be fine. I got mine from ebay and it worked great. As long as its new and a seller with good ratings then its ok.
I watched your video on the fake version and I just wanted to tell you my experience of buying this phone. I bought a blue version. The seller was petter926, and he is out of Shenzhen China. I recieved a great product. It only cost 62$, and it had all the features/functions/appearance that you see in the review videos. I think you may have been overreacting. Yes, you can get some lemons from china, but you can get just as many lemons in the good old US too. You can get gipped anywhere.
I really want this phone ever since I saw it at Target :P, but now I find out that it's only in T-mobile and that it will work for At&t but with 2g. What is the biggest difference between the two? I have a 4g phone at the moment and I'm starting to get bothered by the touch screen and the overall size of the phone.
why are these discontinued.?! :( i was gonna get the blue one but t-mobile said it was discontinued. so i had to get the lg optimus t instead.. i dont like touch screen phones very much. >3
I'm sorry, you probably get this a lot. But would I be able to use this on the Verizon network through some kind of crack or sim card exchange? I'm not all too well with these things yet...
@jnjsez oh ohk well i wont really need interenet i just wanted the text to work and the calling but can it work if i dont get the dlite? and get the regular korean one?
can you please tell me where to buy this unlocked, the one that ill be sure that its unlocked? and if i buy it unlocked, will my sim card here in ireland work with it? please answer ^^
Not sure if this phone is sold anymore. Actually I just bought this phone on Ebay a few weeks ago from Hong Kong. DON'T BUY from anywhere in China. It was a fake. I'l be uploading a video soon of the fake I bought. Buy from Europe or North America if you can. Check ebay.
-.- In Gangnam style. He doesn't say Oppa. He says "Oppan" Which means "Oppa is" Therefore, if he had said "Oppa" he would've been talking improperly..
The hinges are mine are so loose that the screen half just flops around and flips open every time I pick it up and I just got it yesterday :T If anyone can tell me how to tighten it please send me a pm.
oppa 오빠 is the korean word females use for men who r older than them such as older brothers older guy friends but it is most commonly used to say "biyfriend" anyway this phone looks cool and seems awesome i have a friend who has a pink one but real quick how do you know all of the ones from china r fake? just because u had one bad experience doesnt mean that theyre all fake right? lol anyway thanks for the review it was very helpful 안녕!
This brings so much nostalgia. I miss having this phone. Ahh how times and life were simpler 🥺
this is the best clamshell (flip) cell phone i've ever owned that i still use today!!! nice review presentation!!
If you mean the background of the main screen, then yes. As long as you have a picture. But there are pre-installed themes and live backgrounds also. You can also customize the outside dotted screen to do what you want as well.
That's great, since you understand that whole song while all I understand is "Heyy! Sexy lady!" xD
@spsbandgirl its a Korean term of respect that girls use towards older guys. It typically means "older brother" and is normally used from a girl to a guy of interest :)
@1288881 Depends. If you're into the cutsie look. I could live with the blue one, but I'm more a smartphone person.
@chusunhi The LG dLite is the American version of the LG Lollipop. Basically, the same phone is my understanding.
@Cookiechiluvme123 Sure. It worked in East Africa and in the US. I think it was a quad band phone, so it should work anywhere sim cards are used.
@OtakuPanda13 You can read Korean fonts on this phone. But you can't type in Korean. The languages available on the American version (dLite, not Lollipop) are English and Spanish.

@QUIKKSTAR That is true, haha. That phone is quite long. Thaks for watching.
@SoftLittleAngel Should be able to in the settings. Most phones, especially Samsung and LG, you can change the short cut keys.
@BanzaiHearts The phone should be able to send pics with messaging. Its been on all phones since years ago. Try call tmobile or go to a tmobile store, they may need to enable picture messaging on your phone.

@FaraKhun The one I reviewed is the American version and it can be used with any GSM card.
@mummysgrl I don't think so. You may want to check. I remember a lined note looking screen.
no they aren't the same because the Korean version has a 3.2 megapixel on the back but the dlite is 2mpg and the lollipop has a front camera.the lollipop is a little faster and heavier and it can store more data.
@AhnYeoungHahSehYo Yes if the phone is unlocked. But you will only get 2g or edge internet. 3g is limited to T-mobile network.
@dizzyisverysosilly Haha, right. My girlfriend was playing with it before I had a chance to review it. She likes the phone a lot.
@DiegoShining Thanks! I appreciate the comment!
Yes. Ebay is where this was bought.
Haha..never mind about the keychain question. But I have another question..What's the reception like after a week?

@jnjsez that's a perfect feature. I'm gonna love it.
@lesliehellokitty1996 I think its the same. I didn't get my hands on the Korean version, but my assumption was they're the same.
@nelchan13 Thats ok :) I think amazon should be fine. I got mine from ebay and it worked great. As long as its new and a seller with good ratings then its ok.
YEAH! I've had a smartphone and not quite satisfied. I want a classic phone; I don't need to follow others!!!
I watched your video on the fake version and I just wanted to tell you my experience of buying this phone.

Does it have an inside camera? Like. So you can take self cam?
What's the difference of US version (dLite) from the Korean ones? Is it the self-cam feature only?
Where can I find the APN or internet configuration in this device? I want to turnoff the internet and I can't.
@jnjsez thanks that helped a lot ^^ but u said u bought it in eBay, would Amazon be ok too? Sorry I'm asking so many questions xD
I really want this phone ever since I saw it at Target :P, but now I find out that it's only in T-mobile and that it will work for At&t but with 2g. What is the biggest difference between the two? i like the korean version better called the lollipop unless this one can make pictures on the led light on front to does?? please reply
@BanzaiHearts There was enough space for a few mp3s. I recommend getting a micro sd card.
@Girlikesmuffins00001 Sorry no. Only GSM networks, such as AT&T and T-Mobile.
So what's the difference between this phone and LG Lollipop? Do you know?
I got one from Ebay for 65.00 and the item location is in hong kong and its ships WORLDWIDE for FREE...NOT JOKING
how do you know if it's a fake? and where else could it be bought besides ebay?
when you flip it over is stays muted for as long as it is flipped over?
why are these discontinued.?! :( i was gonna get the blue one but t-mobile said it was discontinued. so i had to get the lg optimus t instead.. i dont like touch screen phones very much. >3
Hi! I would like to now if the battery is good or does it die easy? I bought it online and now I'm freaking out about that.
I'm sorry, you probably get this a lot.
But would I be able to use this on the Verizon network through some kind of crack or sim card exchange?
I'm not all too well with these things yet...
Cool phone i'm going to get it.
Can you use it with AT&T? Does it have a keychain hole?
@jnjsez
oh ohk well i wont really need interenet i just wanted the text to work and the calling but can it work if i dont get the dlite? and get the regular korean one?
I want to know, can you change the background to whatever? (:

If you've used a flip phone from LG, it's the same.
-.-
In Gangnam style.
He doesn't say Oppa.
He says "Oppan"
Which means "Oppa is"
Therefore, if he had said "Oppa" he would've been talking improperly..

The hinges are mine are so loose that the screen half just flops around and flips open every time I pick it up and I just got it yesterday :T If anyone can tell me how to tighten it please send me a pm.
