    Excellent video! I'm currently running an Edelbrock TM2R single plane on my otherwise stock 454. It runs great, but i bet it would be even better with a Performer RPM. You guys put out great material. Thank you!

      I think a good dual plane would be better on your 454 too. Thanks for the kind words.

      Use performance air gap intake rpm not the performer

    I've seen some testing that shows the old Edelbrock Performer RPM works just as well as the newer Air-Gap when a open 1" spacer is used. Might be a low buck solution for those that still run the older intakes.

    • @SS454LS6
      @SS454LS6  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      From what I have seen, the Air-Gap feature is in truth a pretty insignificant upgrade when compared to the regular Performer RPM.

      @@SS454LS6 I'd venture to say on a street bound pump gas big block, the Air Gap's only real advantage over a regular performer RPM with a spacer will be less heat soak. The spacers help alot too, but on a dyno your only gonna see maybe 5hp if your lucky? IMHO plumbing ALL the extra water ports the intake provides from front to back helps big blocks stay out of detonation on the street even better.

      @@SS454LS6 I have some vids up on my channel from several years back. 70 Elky was 350/th350. Ran 15.0 at 90 (like your pal) on rock hard TA Radials.
      First upgrade was a very low buck 8.8:1 454, started at 13.4s, end of summer 12.7s.
      Then built a 10.25:1 454 with a HR cam, 11.6s with loose front end through 2.5" exhaust, 3995# with me on board, normal street front tires, DRs out back and 3.42 gears and 10" B&M converter.
      I had closed chamber oval heads with some 2.19/1.88" valves and pro bowl work. It liked 36* total and LOVED 38* total.
      Remove the sock off the fuel inlet
      Smaller crank pulley
      Set that rev Limiter higher! That should pull like a beast to 6200 all day

      Sure he knows how. Ive only seen 1/2 tenth, touch more powershifting over shifting very quickly
