It was a really fortunate find from our friend, who was very generous in giving us that peice! We're really excited about it though and to get more set up inside!✌🏾
Congrats on that beautiful slab! I also really like the placement with the rough edge out, it's an awesome asthetic! Neka's detail work on that mudding and infill is tops!
Brandon. Here's the thing, man. I've figured out how your cliffhangers are so good. You set them up the same way you set up things in the video. I guess it was a subconscious thing. It just clicked when you were setting up the rest of the straw bale work. Sneaky. Hi, Neka.
Maybe only use the music in between talking? Dunno. I'm not personally a fan of a constant music background - my brain can process either music or talking, but not both at once.
You can adapt the ancient Egyptians' method for making stone blocks seat perfectly to planks: push the planks together and run the saw down the crack, push again and saw again until there is no gap. The joint will wander organically, but match.
0:10 Awesome Content! 🎉 How do you hunt for quality windows that are very affordable, if not free? Would you guys be willing to come out and do like a two-day class somewhere in Deming, NM? We want to focus on food forest and building your home predominant from what God has given us on the ground that we stand on. Thank you so much for sharing! ❤
Craigslist, Facebook market, construction sites! You have to be a bit resourceful! But we'd love to do classes, preferably on a new property, but that would be cool to go over to NM for that! We'll see what happens in the future!💚✌🏾
Beautiful piece of granite. I love the edge you put on it. Really love the recycling in this work. It looks great with the rocks. I’m glad you have an indoor kitchen and counters.
When I was in a forest development area in Africa they had a really good way to get rainwater in the ground so it could make it possible to grow both forest, and vegetables. And it was super simple and very cheap
Time to comment! I've been watching and am blown away at the progress you (and Neka!) are making! Today's clip really tied in some loose ends I have been thinking about. BUT!!! Let's not dismiss that beautiful, extraordinary piece of rock you aquired!!! That is gonna be a defining accent piece to your home!
I bought that ALLPOWERS R1500, slightly inebriated, while watching your last video. Now, slightly inebriated, I'm looking at it thinking maybe I'll install it tomorrow...
Nice score on that granite slab. I was positive that pipe through the wall under the counter was going to be a sink drain into gray water collection. Did you ever say your plans for the interior gabion basket wall finish? Leave as is, exposed, seal it with Adobe mud and leave that exposed like the platform? Or mesh+plaster then paint?
Thank you very much! This was all self taught and learned. You can look back in our journey from the beginning to get an idea, which I have a couple Playlists. Otherwise the earthship biotecture company does classes in New Mexico on this concept, the recycling. Etc.✌🏾
You're right we need to get the floor re done! You know I thought Walking barefoot on the gravel and stone inside was going to be more therapeutic, like acupuncture.... it's not we need a new floor coating!😅✌🏾
@@GrowTreeOrganics thank you! I thought I was going crazy, but isn't going to be an issue with the furniture you're now building straight on that gravel?
@MAKESOME you'll see soon how the floor and wood line up. It's been built so we'll still be able to dismantle and build back up. Plus the floor will be mud, which is free, and a little work to fix, worst case scenario! Appreciate your patience!💚✌🏾
Notice that only cheaper to build it yourself but it can be infinitely more beautiful and there is just something about being able to take pride in your own handiwork I don't know how Brandon and Nico would have answered that but I've been at home stutter for 11 years and I think most of us would agree with that statement
No waste of time here. We love building and creating. And it follows our morals and values, to build grow and create alongside nature. Also incredibly cost effective and as commented, makes for a much more beautiful and unique build that buying a prefab. And our hard work is our own, we work for no one but ourselves and have very little to pay for ✌🏾💜
Less expensive is definitely a top positive! People are free to build and live how they like, but also nice that there are options for building things yourself and also pre made things. Everyone's different, Good thing there are options!💚✌🏾
love the smile in your eyes.
Thank you kindly!😅✌🏾💚
That stone counter is special! So beautiful. Happy indoor cooking (soon!)
Congratulations on your (mile) stone! I love the smiles on your faces. You are both adorable! ❤ I’m so very pleased for you.

Thank you and Appreciate the kind words! Neka is a pro!😅 💪💚
I couldn’t live like this brother. It seems like one long extended camping trip to me. That said… it’s really absorbing to follow. Good luck!🍀
It's definitely a different way of life, but not for everyone! Appreciate your support either way, thank you!😅✌🏾
@@GrowTreeOrganics all the best!
That stone is looking great 👍🏼
It's awesome to see y'all growing and settling 🙏🏼🕊️
Thanks so much!✌🏾💚

Really appreciate! Build and fill!😅✌🏾

My very bad. Apologies. I will delete the post. Sincerely Brendan
Enjoy your adventure. Your smiles say it all. X
@@BJPCameron appreciate it! Plenty more of the journey to go!✌🏾
Music was a great addition to the video! Maybe turn down the volume a bit, when you are talking 😅
Thanks for the tip! The sound can be different depending on if you wear headphones or not, but I'll make sure the music isn't too loud.💚✌🏾
Maybe only use the music in between talking? Dunno. I'm not personally a fan of a constant music background - my brain can process either music or talking, but not both at once.
@mtncreekdawn totally understand. I'll mix things up, but I'll take note with the music and talking. Thanks for your patience!✌🏾
I like those glass bottles in the wall. The sunlight coming through will look great.
Thank you, just wait till we start cleaning up inside, including the bottles! Should be pretty cool!✌🏾
That counter top is stunning 🔥 monkey really liked the music this time and says "wow! He's really fast!" 😂
Too funny! I'm glad she,..and you enjoyed the episode!😅✌🏾

Interesting. I'll have to look more into the technique! Thank you!✌🏾
Given the constant wind, are you considering installing windmills as generators. It is possible to have small wind generators.
Indeed, although that won't be till the farther future when we get to that!😅✌🏾
I love the light shining through the bottles.
Wait till we clean up everything! It'll really shine!😅✌🏾
Thats a beautiful piece of marble! How wonderful that you guys finally have an indoor space. It's looking amazing!
Thanks for noticing, we're excited about the indoor space too!💚✌🏾

Oooo fancy! What a find. And your little cat has made its mark on the walls! (he or she?).
We have 6 mouse patrollers, so it was a he/she mix there!😅✌🏾
@@GrowTreeOrganics Lovely!
Perfect color granite! Way above average music ( Hammond 3B organ playing jazzy funk circa 60’s!!).
Nice, glad it added some value to the episode for you!✌🏾

It's really nice to be able to use recycled materials! Definitely has made the difference in a lot of ways for us!♻️✌🏾

I know we were pretty stoked, especially the color if it. Super fortunate!✌🏾
👀h!!! Beautiful, great find! I love the cat prints in the mud too😻
They felt the need to leave they're Hollywood sidewalk square piece!😅✌🏾
So satisfying to see those wires run from the solar panels through the conduit to your power bank.
Yeah! That's one of the best parts of seeing things come together on video!😅✌🏾

This house is the best. But I also can't wait to see what you can achieve when you finally have all the time for plants.

Get the roof rain catchment together before the upcoming system that's moving in this weekend early next week,

Looks amazing though the counter seems very high.. are you making mud floor etc that will raise floor level? Beautiful stone!
Yep the floor will be coming soon!✌🏾
Interesting watching. Why do the bottoms of your walls protrude into your room/cupboard space?
Still more mudding and detail work. So you're still seeing the rough outline of everything still!💚✌🏾
