What an incredible vista of motor cars. Utterly fascinating. Thank you so much for taking the time to film this gathering. Your commentary is really enjoyable too! 🙂
Thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you for all your toil! Beautiful countryside. I feel like I stepped off the Enterprise and into yesteryear! Thank you so much!😅
@@oldclassiccarUK yes I've watched lots of your videos love them keep up the good work hopefully I'll see you at one of the shows have a few oily rag Classics as you would say🤣🤣🤣🤣 regards Peter
4:22 Rick, I think you were right the first time with Australia. SA is South Australia (South Africa would be ZA). VSCC Prescott is always the club's biggest meeting of the year. I was there for the Sunday competitive runs. Great video. Thanks.
Ha yes the driver did very well there, my youthful assistant captured the scene on his camera as mine decided to have a flat battery at the wrong moment!!
Hello Richard . Well that was one for the connoisseur . My goodness, the most fabulous collection of vintage race cars probably in the world . I may have mentioned in a previous video there were 2 Bugatti's at a local show in Exeter recently . The owners said that in the 1970's thier father was a Bristol fan , went to Prescott and immediately sold his Bristols and replaced them with Bugatti's ! I noticed a Black one in your video , that may have been one of them . Thankyou Richard
Hi Rick thanks for this. The old Dodge like yours is probably from Australia like you first thought. The SA on the plate at the back will be for South Australia State rather than South Africa.
Another enjoyable video, Rick. The Curtiss aeroengine in the Luxior looks like an OX-5, a 90 HP 8.2 litre unit usually found in the Curtiss JN-4 Jenny aeroplane.
Another great video , thanks for bringing to us . Love to get to Prescott one day. I always chuckle you and others look at a car and say , great original condition !!! did they originally get produced with faded paint , rusty panels and worn out upholstery !! A great collection of vintage and classic machinery , Cheers from NZ
Thank you for an excellent video. A truly astounding display of quality vintage engineering, although I'd feel anxious about travelling in the specials with all that exposed macinery thrashing around. And that supercharger on the R4D ERA between the driver's knees would emasculate the driver if it ever let go!
I think you were right the first time about the old dodge being Australian. South Australian. The Dryest state on the Dryest continent on earth and just the place to find old classic cars and trucks. Check out South Australian farm clearance auctions. For great old classic trucks machinery and yes cars. Nice video mate I always enjoy thanks.
I agree with your thoughts on vintage conservation and not (over) restoration. They’re only original once… keep the driving! Awesome show, wish we had hill climbs here on the other side of the pond
Well done, Rick - the best footage of VSCC Prescott I've seen. Quality! The black Lancia is the 'Steady' Special, built by the famed automobiliste and journalist Ron 'Steady' Barker, who died about 7 yrs ago.
Thanks! If you know of anyone else who might find it interest, pls forward the link. Ta for the info on the Lancia, I'll look out for it again in future.
Fantastic video, a bit off everything you certainly know you cars,I love the Austin 7,s as I had a Nippy in 1959 I was 14yrs old I got it for xmas it cost my parents £5.00,I drove it round a disused air field at Anthorn near Carlisle,it went for scrap in the finish,if you only knew what they would have been worth in later years.!!! R Jones.
@@oldclassiccarUK I will have to watch them,I also watch shed racing with Ivan,I love his banter,There is VSCC meeting on the 28th September,I don,t know how go it is,I was thinking of going but it is a approx 600 mile round trip as I am nearly 80 it might be a bit to far to drive, Loved your video, you thank Russell.
The Dodge Brothers worked closely Ely with Ford before beginning to market their own product. Their logo would not have vev appealed to Henry. On the other hand he could put prejudice aside when selecting an archecrecht to develope River Rouge. My neurosurgery proff in med school was that archetect`s very remarkable son.
A friend of mine, his dad had a Bristol and he couldn't understand why whenever he needed to work on it ,it was fairly easy to do with openings enabling easy access then a chap told him it was a car used by the Bristol factory in the Monte Carlo Rally .Is that true?
I believe I saw that all the electric starters, the remote handheld types used in place of the engine crank, seem to be all the same in appearance? Can anyone tell me if these are original (old as the cars) or are they of a modern design? It there a manufacturer name standard to these? Thanks?
Re the Dodge tourer RHD, maybe from Sth Australia. All the states had [ still do] state letters [ NSW, Vic. etc] . Sth Africa had no need to do this.? . Cheers. NZ.

Hi from Australia.. thanks for the video..
The Dodge original number plate with "SA" is from South Australia
I was going to post the same comment, but then I saw yours.
What an incredible vista of motor cars. Utterly fascinating. Thank you so much for taking the time to film this gathering. Your commentary is really enjoyable too! 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it
Thankyou for a superb video.
Brilliant day out, to be surrounded by all of that variety of motoring history. Wish we had something similar in Canada.
Magnificent. Now these are what I call classic cars.
If there is an event that is a "must see", this would be it. For now I will accept your excellent coverage and commentary. Thanks, Richard.
Glad you're liking this one, it was a fun day
Fantastic video😮😮
Thank you
Many thanks

Thanks Derrick!
Hi Old Classic car, thank you for capturing the 'Code Brown' moment.
That was close..!.
Ha yes the driver did very well there, my youthful assistant captured the scene on his camera as mine decided to have a flat battery at the wrong moment!!
It was me driving, glad I got away with that…
Marvelous day out thank you. I watched your V8 Pilot video yesterday. Enjoyed that too. Cheers.
Cool, thanks for looking in!

Looks to be a fun one.
- And it was.
I’m surprised that there’s not a lot of Wipe-outs, and failures.
Great video.
📻🙂
This is really good
Must watch it in segments

Thank you for this i missed this year but won’t next year
There's another VSCC Prescott at the end of this month! using the long course iirc

Really enjoyed this video, you mixed up the action and sights very well. I liked Harley's "code brown" comment also! Funny!
Cheers, thanks for the feedback and for watching
Your accompanying ragtime music is really enjoyable
Thanks, it was a fun video to put together
Are those Camando Cody type helmets required? They are both too heavy and restrictive to vision. Poor design.

The Austin sounds like fun, thanks for watching, there are loads of videos like this across the channel now

Yes indeed you have exceeded your previous work, thoroughly enjoyable😂
Thank you kindly
Ivan Dutton had a nice segment from this on "SHED Racing". Thanks for your presentation. His wars a week or so bac,.
He was seen in the background...
The Dodge is indeed from Australia, it belongs to a very good friend of ours and is used very regularly and very much loved!
Thanks, yes definitely a highlight for me in the orchard area :)
Seems a good number of quite wealthy sports men and women.
A few £ certainly helps

Indeed, Dodge produced many of the Ford's castings before turning to producing their own cars. Thanks for watching.
A friend of mine, his dad had a Bristol and he couldn't understand why whenever he needed to work on it ,it was fairly easy to do with openings enabling easy access then a chap told him it was a car used by the Bristol factory in the Monte Carlo Rally .Is that true?
I suppose it could be, it's the kind of car that would have been used on the Monte in the early 50s
I believe I saw that all the electric starters, the remote handheld types used in place of the engine crank, seem to be all the same in appearance? Can anyone tell me if these are original (old as the cars) or are they of a modern design? It there a manufacturer name standard to these? Thanks?
Why do the HRGs have special dispensation?
Probably due to their sporting heritage I suppose

Hi, yep feedback suggests it is in fact from South Oz, thanks for watching
what avista for the eyes and ears
Dodge is from South Australia
Yep that seems to be the case, thanks for watching
Has anyone brought a Squire?
I didn't see one, not many built though
