Hi Axel. Looking good, all your hard work and dedication will be worth it when in a quiet bay, watching the world go past knowing you built it, like no other. Awesome.
Thanks! Really looking forward to that first day at anchor! Any bay will do 😂 But a beautiful one with crystal clear water is the one I have in mind 😂 And a beer... Or two 😂 Thanks again
Thanks! That is very kind of you to say. Im getting there. Even if i dont get it perfect, shes gonna look good. Some more work to do when I get back to OZ. Thanks again / Axel
I,ho I,ho it’s off to sanding we will go. The boat is testing how much you love it. Once you slog through this part the fun starts. That’s all you need to keep thinking in your head, also a few pictures of sunny white beaches you have sailed too. Great work and background music.
Thanks! Appreciate the comment. I´m actually looking forward to more sanding. Insane, but true :) Even more looking forward to the white sandy beaches. The whitest one I have seen so far is a little beach off the island of Nosy Be, Madagascar. Amazing!
Looked at a lot of cats and man yours is big, love the way you put your video together ,getting better each video, port side looks so nice 👍 good job 👏 it’s going to look fabulous 😎👍🇬🇧👍
Thanks Chris! Yeah, she´s a big Cat :) 45 feet or so, with the pointy bits. Thanks, Rox is doing most of the work on the videos and we are both learning all the time. Boat building and video editing. We really appreciate the comment. Thanks again. / Axel
Coming along nicely, I feel for you though, we just got out of the boatyard at the end of October. My shoulders are feeling good once again, good news it will be done one day, one fine, beautiful day! Thank you!
Thank YOU! I hope that day will come soon! I had to leave the boat due to Covid in September. Really looking forward to some more sanding now 😂 I'll be back in oz as soon as I get a chance! Thanks again for the kind words and have fun out on the water!
LOL :) Yes... a bit like that. I can feel every little mistake, but I know they will not be visible to anyone but myself.... Just a little bit more.... :)
:) I think I might have run out of juice in the camera... Sorry. More paint coming up, and waaaay more sanding :) Glad to see you are sticking around. Thanks Dale / Axel
Well, looks like practice does make perfect, you are improving, second hull is looking great, sounds like this work was done some time ago so my comments about using a fairing board probably don't need repeating. You mentioned trying to improve your sander....could you make a thin ply disc with Velcro (hook front and loop back) pad spacer/stiffener between the disc and the sand paper to try and reduce the amount of pad deflection you are getting (you would just have to be very careful the whole thing doesn't dig in....so would start with light broad diagonal sweeps (your oblique abdominals will hate you for it....so a shot of beetroot juice after everyday might help), cheers
That was the plan. I didn´t actually get around to it so the main shaping is still done with the fairing boards. I think next episode should contain some work with the boards and using a powder to help me fair the surface. The material here is from August some time, perhaps even July, before lvl 4 lock down in Melbourne. I love beetroot juice! Best mixed with orange juice :) Gets a bit of an earthy taste without :)
More of a boat sanding channel for now :) Sorry. Hope to show more interesting material in the future. More cutting and glassing and electrics coming up, I just don´t know when. You danish? Mads, at sail life is really producing interesting material for those of us that like this sort of thing.
Sorry Vivian. I miss it as well. I am stuck in Europe for now. Can't get back to Australia and the boat because of covid. I hope I can return this summer some time. But Australia is basically closed for foreign citizens. I just contracted some help, so will be seeing some results soon, I need to save some time. Once I get back I hope to have the boat in the water after a few months of work. More building coming up. The contractor I hired will do more fairing. I have shown a lot of that, so won't miss too much 😂 Good hearing from you Vivian. Hope you follow along once we get going again.
Back for more I see :) Hope I don´t bore you to death with sanding.... there was a lot of it just before leaving the boat. But also a bit of battery stuff :) Coming up
G'Day mate I just found your channel a few days ago. I think you and the boss are going to have a Awesome boat good luck with it. PS I am from Lakes Entrance so just a few hundred Ks to the east of Melboune Cheers Rory

Great stuff..
Thanks. Perhaps a bit uniform with all the fairing, but moving forward at least. Thanks again
Good job!
Tack :) Sounds like a Swedish name to me. A bit of a tedious task, but necessary.

Thanks Jason, appriciate it!
I used to build coffee tables with jarrah in Perth and labour over every blemish. It was later I realized no one else could see them.
LOL :) Yes... a bit like that. I can feel every little mistake, but I know they will not be visible to anyone but myself.... Just a little bit more.... :)

When is Rox coming back? After its painted? Lol...you need to put a ring on that hand when she is willing to help you build that monster. 👍
Ha ha :) Rox had to go home and back to work for a while. Now both of us are out of the country and we cant wait to get back.
