Tomlin, (first of all, great lesson, as always) but I have a question. Is the embouchure for a straight note drawing with an “eeeee” shape in the mouth, and then for a bend more like an “oooooo” shape? Does that make sense? When I draw while “pronouncing” eeeee it’s definitely a higher note than when I pronounce oooooo. Is that my bend?

Could you use a guitar tuner to see if you're hitting the b flat?

perfect timing- this is put to use as i learn your Pink lesson on a C harp with all those 3 draws/bends!! (that i think i am overshooting like you also mentioned!) nice one sir. i've never thought to use one of my other harps to get the reference tune! i normally used a piano but this way is much more exact with the sound and all, especially if i have the mostly the same models.

Do you articulate your bends? If so, are you articulating it with your tongue (uding sullables) or like your throat/glottal articulations, or whateber it's called 😅

Hi Tomlin. When you click on the link to get the handout for this, it links you to a handout on 3 draw whole-step bends instead of 3 draw half-step bends as you intended. You may wish to update the link. Have a good day. Greg

Tomlin, when I bend the 3 draw, there becomes a point during the bend where it sort of feels like my voice breaks which immediately shifts the pitch down much lower than I'm aiming to get. This starts just around the 3 draw half step bend. Is this something I'll have more control over later after building muscle in the throat and tongue???

Tomlin Leckie Thank you very much but my next issue is I don't have a way of finding out the sound that the differently pitched harmonicas make for the frame of reference

So on 2:47 it's not better really, it's just bender.
    :O
Thanks for the cool advice once again, Tomlin!

Have you found that people with dentures have a more difficult time bending ?

I did at first but I just kept playing with them, I have partials without them now I have trouble directing the flow of air. So I got somewhat used to them. Many of the old harp players did not have all of their teeth, Sonny Boy Williamson for example.
