Very interesting talk. However, I think it also depends greatly on the discipline you're engageg with since the level of competition to get a position can vary greatly.
@@PostdocLife Thanks for your reply. I meant to say that the decision to engage in a postdoc also depends on the opportunities one might get. So, if the competition is fierce one might grab the single opportunity they get before them. Whle if there are more opportunities in a given discipline, one might have the chance to decide or to choose among different alternatives. Anyway, it's not a criticism to what you have argued in your video. It was just a comment to add another variable that might interfere in the decision to do a postdoc or not. 🙂🙂
