    This is the most supportive thing about TH-cam when people without financial resources (in the world) to pay for a concert of this quality have the possibility of watching it and culturalizing their souls. Greetings from Santiago of Chile 🇨🇱, South America.

    My mother was a violinist in orchestras in Illinois, South Dakota, Georgia, Ohio, Michigan, France, and Korea. I still live in he 120+ year old Victorian she bought about 3 decades ago due to the 12 foot ceilings and wide large archway. She played with friends on a regular basis with our piano, a second violin, a cello in many combos. Her love of music rubbed off on me. She played Bach most often.
    While I don't have a favorite composer, much like my mother, the Brandenburg Concertos have always been a favorite, along with Vivaldi's four season. I especially love when it's done on period instruments, which this entire chamber orchestra seems to be using. Andnot just because it's called the Baroque Orchestra since that doesn't always mean period instruments.
    Very well done.

    Classical music is a sublime conversation between composer and listener. The notes, carefully crafted by masterminds like Bach and Haydn, resonate across centuries, inviting us to engage in a dialogue with the profound emotions and ideas embedded in each piece. It's a conversation that spans cultures, generations, and the very essence of the human experience.

    • @thephantomeagle2
      @thephantomeagle2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's what you get from Baroque instruments, often called "natural" instruments. No plastic, no rubber, no artificial products at all, or at least no modern components. The only exception to that might be the reeds, since the original reed might be hard, if not impossible to replicate, due to the rarity of components. The small metal mouth pieces of some of the horns might be modern as well. But that's really all.
      I'm sure even the violins, violas, cello, and double bass are 99.9% authentic. Again, things like the bridges, might be baroque in style and design, but made from more modern woods, as well as components of the bows, though I'm not really sure on bows since I know less about bows.

    Every time I listen to this I feel like I notice something new. One of my favorite things to listen to is the bassoon and low strings carrying the bass movement and just sounds soo nice. Also, I find it interesting that the “historically accurate” horn playing would be with the hand out of the bell. But with the hand in the bell and doing hand stopping, like these hornists are doing, the sound is so much warmer and rounder. So even though it might not be how Bach’s orchestra would have done it, I love the horn sound much more. Bravo to the whole orchestra for this flawless interpretation :)

      Lauren, welcome to the wonderful world of classical music. As you listen to it more and more, you will automatically gain knowledge. why? because you are open minded and you start from a position of just loving what you hear. Listen to it every day and you will find yourself loving it even more. I started out just listening to the classics, mozart symphonies Bach like this one but after something like 30 years came back to it again and this time I have delved much deeper thanks to you tube. For instance I never liked opera but a few years ago started to listen to various aria's. beautiful arias, then went back to regular concerto's etc but found myself missing the beautiful singing voices to go along with the great music. every day you discover something new. It has become a spiritual thing for me, it draws you closer to the divine. The sheer unimaginable beauty of it, the perfection of it, she sheer joy it brings and peace of course. At least for me. Here is a good example, I did not know Vivaldi did operas, but this is part of one th-cam.com/video/B9YdKNUO42A/w-d-xo.html and another one, just this short one th-cam.com/video/UO76d3UK6Lc/w-d-xo.html listen to this part 02:00 - Sit nomen Domine (Largo) but really the whole thing is great along with about 10,000 others. it is truly limitless

    A música Clássica, além de acalmar e relaxar, nos proporcionam momentos de paz interior e uma sensação de estar flutuando. No caso dessa parte uma obra prima, melodia maravilhosa e um certo deslizar por entre os acordes. Maravilhoso.

    Hey they should all be playing standing up except for the cello/gambas and cembalo. At Sans Souci we had to wear the fully Monty, my wig was bigger than Handel's, a disaster when wet by rain, the talc turns to cement. They used lead sulphate in his day!

    Compare the interpretations of the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra to the ones of Orchestra Mozart under the direction of Claudio Abbado. Which do you like better?

      We nearly always come Bach to the Freiburger group.
      What also counts, IMO, is that these guys appear to have quite a few leads. I am sure that helps to create a more fascinating and broader consensus on what they are doing.
      If they had a PayPal account attached to this page, I'd send them $$ every time we listened to them. :-). Perhaps Google should arrange that. It would only be fair.

      The notion that violinists must stand for the whole performance bothers. Why are horns, originally used to improve hunting, excluded from this requirement?
      Fair's fair. If violinists must suffer in this manner, all stringed instruments should share the same fate. Make the cellists stand & hold their instruments high.
