This is true. Aegean's food is delicious but small portion. Although Aegean has much more better breakfast than Turkish Airlines. Specially on the flight ATH-FRA.
Which airlines do you take from the US? I did Turkish Airlines last time and Emirates the time before that. I used Aegean for flights to and from Athens and the islands.
Aegean have been selected Best Regional Airlines from Skytrax!(4 times in a row..from 2012, 2013, 2014,2015, 2016) Aegean we are really proud for your services to every passenger
If I am not mistaken, but I think long haul destinations that are in Aegean's best interest such as Melbourne, New York, Toronto etc are code shared with other Star Alliance carriers. This is why I believe Aegean airlines will not purchase/lease long distance planes (330's/350's) in the next while.
Hello, the reason you explain is one of those, but for the moment A3 is trying to have a very stable position in the market as a regional airline and offer maybe a few connections via ATH airport. In case of A330 many wish for them but for the moment its too risky for the airline, although when they will get their new Airbus they will be able to operate a little bit further, but towards the east I think.
@@AirFlightTravels In fact Israel had control of the place more years than Syria, and annexed it in 1981( its disputed tho) however since then Israel have not annexed any other territory so its not "expanding", there is a issue in the west bank tho. Anyways lovely video! Amazing quality I just found it thank you :)
Regarding the A340s: when the old Olympic Airways was restructured into Olympic Air (which eventually merged with Aegean), it didn't inherit the old OA's 4 340s (The state couldn't find investors wanting to buy the new Olympic Air, unless they streamlined unnecessary assets like the A340s). The A340s remained state property, and there were very few buyers interested in 4-engine aircraft by the 2010s. 2 of them were scrapped, and the other two were parked at LGAT. There was, I believe, a German buyer in 2010, but their offer was rejected. Not because of "political corruption", but because political parties are afraid of being punished by voters for "selling off state assets at low prices", even something that's starting to become obsolete. I think they were eventually sold in 2017 to an airline in Iran, for less than they would have gotten in 2010.
Thanks for your comment. One is flying in Iran for sure, but it's a scandal at least that the planes remained for so many years unused, at a time that those had value, they could sell them. Maybe beacause of bureucracy maybe nobody from the politicians was willing to risk, maybe because the state never acts as an entrepreneur. As for the corruption, you can call it whatever, you can investigate how much the state for Olympic paid. The figures are there.
@@AirFlightTravels Very few buyers were interested in the A340s when OA was being restructured in the 2000s. The state *did* "act like an entrepreneur", exactly as you say they ought to, and waited for higher bids that never came. The state throwing money into OA long predates this. You're injecting outdated info into the wrong decade and you have the storyline wrong.
Best AIRLINE in Europe for service and great hot meal and even free Wine - but P L E A S E - your video making is one of the worth seen - please EDIT before shown online
Hello Jorgen. Aegean is a great Airline indeed. As about video, it is edited. The problem is the shooting. Not proper equipment all the time. If you check the last video it is different. Very stable and well edited. Regards
I love these Airlines reports

Thanks Niki! Yeah, Aegean still is holding the competition level high.
Turkish airlines gives much better food at 2 hour flights

We know, THY has the best catering service and food quality in Europe, but Aegean is just second.
Then I am lucky that I traveled many times with both :)
I like also this kind of old departure boards!

That isn't Syria in the background of the Galilee shot; Israel has full control over that portion of the Golan Heights.
You are right. I saw an old map. As Israel is expanding if you see Google maps there are 3 different border lines there with dates.
