Been dealing with lithium batteries for years, and I hate to break it to you but it is common for batteries to swell. They produce gas and are known to swell, and granted it appears the issue is the device did not have the applicable tolerance added to accommodate this (mechanical designer). And when used outside, the heat will cause them to swell (Even the plastic case will, its referred as dissimilar materials, they expand at different temps.. However, there is an acceptable level and I if those packs had visible breaks along the seams as the packs pushed them apart, then I would be concerned.
In fact if you take a EV car battery apart you will find they are sandwiched between two pieces of frame, with bolts designed to sandwich the battery. It is a science, as if you compress a swollen battery pack (do not recommend it without safety precautions) you can actually watch the voltage increase. EV car batteries even have channels for antifreeze to run through/around them to cool them down to prevent over swelling in the heat as well as keeping them warmer in the winter.
But looking at what you posted, you have one company making the device (ring) and another company making the batteries and Ring simply did not accommodate for the thermal expansion of the battery under use.If the voltage/amperage usage is under control, so is the battery.

Thank you so much for the knowledgeable response. I feel much better about the situation, since my chief concern was safety. The good news is, that they reached out today and said that they would exchange the batteries...do you think it's too much to ask them to like and subscribe😉?

@@dondgc2298 In my case, the example was a Company I worked for. The Boeing Company battery issues. I did not work on/with them (I worked in Defense not commercial) but my Chief Engineer did and was the one who went to the main facility to solve the issue. He was gone for a few weeks.

@@DrTac It is always good to resolve a concern with a customer. If you still have the old batteries before sending them back, put them in the refrigerator (not freezer) for a few hours then see if the swelling is better. I can't post pics, but I just realized I have had one that has been in mine for 2 years or so. One cell has gone far beyond that level of safety (4 cel pack) and will need to be replaced.

informative and unfortunate - on a side-node the shutter-speed on your camera does not like your light source frequency ;)

Yeah, I love firearms. I love shooting them, talking about them, and learning about them...but I have a lot to learn about cameras, lighting, and editing software. I'll check it out. Thanks for the advice.

Interesting video- definitely not your usual content. However, I’m curious to hear what transpires- seeing how I have a ring system as well. Please share updates. I have had issues with ring recordings where the content was viewed by ring personnel without consent. Good luck and please keep your fellow viewers posted about your ring customer service experience. Thank you 🙏!!!!!!!

Thank you. I really appreciate you helping me out with that. We gun guys (which is essentially all of my audience) tend to be extremely detail oriented and once a flaw is noticed, it cannot be unseen, thus it detracts from all other aspects of the video and its content. I’m glad you caught early in its distribution.
