    To anyone reading this who is currently pregnant with fibroids...YOU CAN DO IT!! It is amazing creating a positive community where we can uplift each other with this painful experience!! I had 3 small and 7 large fibroids from 2cm to 15cm causing a deformed bumpy pregnancy belly and agonising pain! In the moment, trust me I know its hard!! But when you will come out of it and have your baby you will realise how STRONG you are!! Trust me you will get through it!! You are already doing it 💕

    • @FutureBilinguals

      @@sandraakosuaarkorful4509 I gave birth last year to a beautiful healthy baby girl. C section was no question because of the amount of fibroids. The pain has TOTALLY gone, but i feel the fibroids are still there. A year in now and my belly is still big (kinda like i was 4/5months pregnant) because of the fibroids. I can feel them when I press down. But no pain. Thank god! I have had an MRI recently and they have reduced in size but some are still pretty big. I am planning on removing them at the end of the year as I will have another baby in the future but refuse to go through that pain again!!! Join me on my channel as I will be talking about my operation when it happens, the healing, pain etc when it happens. And dont hesitate to keep in touch if you have any questions. I am more than happy to answer as I know how much of a difference it makes. I didnt really have anyone to ask or compare with. I used to search on the internet to see any similar stories but most of them were horrible and scary and not encouraging at all. So I am here if you need it 😘

    I love hearing stories like this and I hope more and more women are encouraged! I had a laparoscopic myomectomy and when I got pregnant afterwards, I still had a few smaller fibroids on my uterus. I went on to have two vaginal births after myomectomy! Vaginal birth is still option for fibroid mamas-- surgery or not!

    So happy I found this video! And I’m so happy that you were able to deliver vaginally and she’s so beautiful! I am currently 38 weeks 3 days, and I have a fibroid that is measuring approximately 16 cm, and I wanted to know.. did you go into labor on your own or were you induced? My doctors are pushing me to induce because they’re “unsure if my uterus will be able to contract properly for labor”, but I always envisioned having a natural labor, so I want to avoid induction if possible.

    • @TheFortitudeFix
      @TheFortitudeFix  2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Hey Virginia, I’m glad you found this video as well! Congratulations to you, you’re almost there Yayyyy!!! I went into labor on my own at 39 + 4 I believe then I had her the very next day (2 days before her due date). My water didn’t break on its own but I did lose quite a bit of my mucus plug and contractions began on their own and got stronger, closer together. I did walk up and down my stairs a kabillion times the day before I went into labor. There wasn’t any talk about induction in my case. I know we all are different but I would make sure I fully understand why they are unsure…are there things that led them to believe this, I would also let them know you don’t envision an induction at this time, is there a way to reach middle ground? Ask how far can we push an induction since you want to see if your body goes into labor naturally. Are there any safe/natural ways to speed things up that they advice before an induction - things like that! I’m so excited for you, you’ve got to come back when you’re ready and let me know how it all goes! I wish you the best labor and delivery (and postpartum) experience ever! Thanks so much for being here 💜

    After my procedure to block blood flow to my fibroids (8 in total) I did some research on how I can help shrink them quicker. Vitamin D came up everywhere, especially for Black women. All my other fibroids disappeared except for one that can shrink to as small as 5cm. I got pregnant and it grew to 7cm…I’m 28weeks now and it had never grown beyond 7cm. I keep taking 1000iu vitamin D3 to keep it stable.

    • @Peendee
      @Peendee 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@nosisavilakati1969 hi Nosisa. The procedure worked very well for me because it did not cause scars on my uterus/womb. And 7 of my fibroids disappeared. I had a great predictable cycle after the procedure. And now I have a normal healthy pregnancy.
      It’s important to ask the specialists who do your procedure the following questions:
      1. What type of fibroids do you have, where are they and how does their position affect your fertility?
      2. How soon can I try for children if I want them?
      3. Can they arrange for a blood screening test to give you an understanding of your hormone levels? So that you can work to control them in future.
      PS: it’s important to know that people who usually choose to have their fibroids cut are told that fibroids will grow back within a year or two. With UFE, I haven’t had any new growths since February 2019.

    Your baby is so cute! I have a 14cm fibroid on the back of my uterus that was only 4cm 1.5years ago. It goes through the wall of the uterus and beyond the outer wall. It’s grown bc I’ve been pregnant 3 times in 2years (2 losses). Im surprised your fibroid didn’t ever degenerate at 18cm. Mine has degenerated twice and it causes excruciating pain. I’m 22 weeks and am being sent to a specialist bc my doc is concerned that my fibroid is growing too close to my placenta. I’m worried about it stealing blood/nutrients from my uterus/placenta and also worried about hemorrhaging during delivery. I don’t want to have to get a hysterectomy at birth 😔

      @TheFortitudeFix  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jazzy! Thanks so much for commenting and complimenting Nova 😊! I totally empathize with all of the feelings you shared! My fibroid was outside of my uterus (subserosal) so it didn’t cause any issues. When I was pregnant the first time, I definitely had similar fears and concerns! What helped me was finding others with similar stories, positive stories, being very open and honest with my care team and asking all of the questions at every appointment! CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy and I am wishing you the very best experience possible now and during labor/delivery! 30w pregnant with 3 large, 10 cm subcerosal fibroids. So far the worst part about it? My doctor always making me feel either like an idiot, or like straight up an irresponsible person, she always says stuff lile "why did they let you get pregnant", "why did you not get them out", "did you not know that you had fibroids? Oh you knew, why did you not have them taken out". I hate it even more than the pain because, no, lady doctor, you don’t have any right. My fibroids were 2.5cm the largest 1 year before i got pregnant. I'm an outlier, they grew way more than what they were supposed to, and I suspect it was because of the hormones they pumped me with to do the IUI. Ladies, you are magnificent, and we can do it. Don't let anyone discourage you.

    I had large fibroids when I was pregnant with my daughter, too. They didn’t cause any issues in my first pregnancy and I was told, just like you, that they wouldn’t likely cause issues in my next one and that it was safe to conceive. Well, I got pregnant and they doubled in size and they have 100% caused issues. I’m 24 weeks and my biggest fibroid is 18 cm as well. Preterm labor, growth restriction, placental abruption are all risks that I am now being closely monitored for. Not to mention that I haven’t stopped bleeding since I was 14 weeks. I’m at the hospital now because of low fluid levels due to the fibroids and my doctor anticipates that I won’t make it past 32 weeks (tops) because they baby will run out of space to grow. I would definitely consider getting them removed before having another baby. It’s just not worth the risk.

    Hi, thank you so much for sharing your story. I also had a fibroid as big as your actually, bigger. My biggest measurement was 19cm. Similar to you, only found about it when I was pregnant. I delivered successfully as well. My fibroid did make sleeping in certain positions almost impossible and painful. Apart from that, it caused no other issues. I am 6 weeks postpartum and I was told that uterus is much bigger than usual probably due to the fibroid. Did you have that problem of uterus not shrinking back as fast? I was told if my uterus does not strink back it is not a medical emergency, but I can have excessive bleeding during my periods. This is concerning to me. Also, I do not want to look 6 months pregnant forever.

      Hi Jane, thank you so much for watching!!!! Congratulations on your little one!!! I had a virtual postpartum video appointment at 6 weeks I believe then I didn’t see or hear from anyone at my doctors office until I demanded an appointment at 8 months postpartum. They did not comment on the size of my uterus but the fibroid had decreased in size! I feel like it definitely took a while for my uterus to shrink but I did see a noticeable difference around 5-6 months or so. I just had to give myself grace and trust that my body just needed time! I’m so glad to hear you had no other issues with your fibroid and have a successful delivery. Thank you for sharing your story with us 💜

    7 weeks 4 fibroids, 3 small and one let's just call it medium lol. I can't remember the sizes in cm. I had no idea that I even had them. Which completely makes sense to my belly being so big, given a fact I work out regularly, and his stomach would just not budge lol. Although I am pregnant now, I've also been bleeding and spotting the last 2 weeks, but so far things are still progressing. I go back to the doctor Tuesday to make sure that things are still progressing. So thank you for this video.❤

      I remember them saying the could cause risks but the type I have and where they were placed wasn’t a huge issue. That is a great question but it would be better suited for your care team. My fibroid was smaller but grew to 18cm during pregnancy. If your fibroid is already 13cm and you are not pregnant at the time, definitely be sure to ask how that fibroid may grow & if it will impact your pregnancy in the long run. To my knowledge, fibroids don't really hinder conception ability...it's how the fibroid may impact the pregnancy and vice versa. Thanks so much for watching :-)

Keep an eye on your symptoms and ask your care team to watch them closely as well! Congratulations!! I wish you the best pregnancy and delivery experience ❤️

    Can i became pregnant with subserosal nd intra mural fibroid

      That is a great question, it may be better suited for your care team as they know your health history and particular situation more than I do. Typically a fibroid doesn't interfere with conception (sperm joining with egg) so the question of becoming pregnant usually isn't what concerns people, its how that pregnancy will affect the fibroid and vice versa. I hope you get the answers you deserve and desire. Thanks so much for watching.

      Congratulations on your pregnancy. I hope you have access to some assistance in dealing with your depression. I know it can be hard but try to stay positive. Positivity is wonderful in pregnancy. I ate pretty much whatever I wanted when I was pregnant and did not follow a specific plan. I’m sure it’s different for everyone but I’m sending all the prayers and positive thoughts your way 💜
