I would really like a sequel to Angel of Darkness with the same writer, voice actors and some possible part of the original game's team. That game is a gem and I think it's really no exaggeration to say that it has the best storyline in the entire franchise.
Aspyr has hinted at announcing new Tomb Raider games in the remastered style. I think they want to continue The Angel Of Darkness trilogy. It's quite possible that we'll get the sequel to The Angel of Darkness story on February 14, 2026. That ultimately depends on how well Tomb Raider Remastered 4-6 sells. In any case, we have a lot more hope with Asypr and Saber than we do with Crystal Dynamics. Crystal Dynamics has also admitted that they never played the old games themselves. Until the day Remastered 1-3 were released.
@@MirkoM-h2iyour expectations are extremely high. It takes more than a year to make a brand new game. I know they take 1 year or less to remaster 3 games but that's because the game itself is made. They improve graphics and controls to a pre existing game. If there ever will be a sequel to angel of darkness it won't be until either 2027 or 2028 minimum
Angel of darkness is so special to me. The music alone. That version of Lara was amazing. It's all just so nostalgic and I can't wait to play the remaster!
There's been heaps of improvements made to the PC version of Angel of Darkness by fans over the years. In terms of consoles, having that game improved is going to be awesome. It did away with the grid based layouts, and so having smoother controls, more in line with something modern, would most likely heavily improve how Lara controls for those that don't like or want to play with tank controls.
yeah, a lot of improvements have already been made in the aod restoration project, but since the announcement of the first half of the trilogy there's been no word form the devs. i do hope that they've got hired for this
I said it many times here, I am afraid that's not gonna happen soon. That is if they decide to do it, but yeah, those games still feel pretty strong. I actually replayed them recently. It was a proper trip down the nostalgia lane.
Kurtis having stealth is cool and all, but when talking about his abilities, the important part are his supernatural abilities. They were cut from the original so he only used them in cutscenes and basically ended up a slower version of Lara with only one weapon and less ammo. These disadvantages were originally supposed to be balanced by his psychic abilities and his special weapon. In the remaster, he won't get all the original abilities (as far as we now know), but he'll at least get a psychic shield and he'll be able to use Chirugai (a bladed disc that he can throw). So that should be fun! Also I'm very much a tank control player in TR1-5, but as AoD isn't grid based, I think I'll try the modern controls there. They will be probably closer to what was originally intended anyway.
Same here I hope for missing levels on Turkey, and other countries and dual pistols and shooting from cover on wall. And Kurtis powers and his own missions and fixed controls and this will be the best tomb raider game ever!
@@nepaliprayasgurung2594turkey? As in there were some levels in turkey in the game (I don't remember anymore)but they removed some of them, or as in a whole brand new location that we never played in?
@Stogiewise Turkey was cut content aswell as Castle level in Germany, some say they had few Egyptian levels in the sand and deep inside caves there are Egypt Tomb levels that are cut. And Kurtis had his own 7 to 10 levels specifically made for him that's cut out. And many more features that are cut out. To be honest the cut content that is missing in Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness is absolutely huge. But I'm glad Aspyr is trying to bring cut contents back nobody knows how much they'll restore. But I hope it's 95 to 97% cut contents get restored and we're all happy!
Honestly the LAU trilogy needs a remaster if only to give a consistent version of Legend and to fix the atrocious camera in Underworld. The TRU camera feels more tied to Lara’s animations than being its own entity like on the previous two games so when she jumps or tries to vault a ledge etc it seems to lurch forward too much. It’s really off putting.
@joethealternativegamer3935 Much like all the others, yes. This was the game that sold me on the series. I have it & the strategy guide in my collection.
Have you ever noticed that Aspyr and Saber put more effort into development than Crystal Dynamics? I'm so glad that the Embracer Group bought Crystal Dynamics' studio and also bought the Tomb Raider franchise. With Crystal Dynamics, the franchise has been plodding along slowly for years. I don't think they even know after the Survivor trilogy how to connect Survivor and Classic Lara. Which proves once again that the Survivor trilogy is just trash. I'm so glad that Aspyr and Embracer Group have former core design employees on the team. They know the franchise better than Crystal Dynamics. 😊
I don't like the direction they took with TR2013 and I much prefer the originals. However I can't agree about the effort bit. Have you not noticed how well optimised the newest trilogy was? Very robust and runs extremely well in a variety of hardware. Aspyr and saber left bugs in the original remasters. I've just been playing TR3 and for example the drill bug in London is still there.
My dream is for Saber to finish off the Core Anniversay Edition. I never thought we would get a fixed AoD so them finishing TRAE isn't that crazy anymore 😅
@ Core Design’s 10th Anniversary remake they did first but it got cancelled. Looking at screenshots, the design doc and the leaked alpha build, it was going to be the Black Mesa of Tomb Raider. Instead it ended up the Duke Nukem Forever 2001 of Tomb Raider. (Crystal’s Anniversary is the DNF 2011)
Hope doesn't do nothing, scream and demand for them to continue this story . No more father and mother issues,no cry baby Lara . Angel of Darkness was the epitome of Lara
Been a fan since '96. Angel of Darkness is genuinely the best TR game in the series. I will never forget the day it released, even with all of its flaws, the hype was MASSIVE. The fact that fans who know the games inside out were hired by Aspyr/Saber to develop these remasters is why they have all been so faithful to the originals. It's not perfect, of course, but AoD's story has SO much lore and world building in it that Crystal Dynamics just could never come close to because they do not understand the character or the original iterations for that matter. Fans have truly saved this franchise during its longest hiatus (going on 7 full years since the last title...) and I think supporting that passion is so much more important than the uninspired crap Crystal Dynamics puts out.
Maybe you want to check out Tomb of Ash. Last year in april he made 2 long videos talking with the original creators of the first 3 games and with the creators of the expansions while looking at all the improvments that the remasters brought. With people working on the remasters in the chat answering questions. Very interresting. You can expect that he will do the same thing this year for the next set of remasters. So propably around april the magicians will tell us something about their tricks.
Maybe we should finish have them go back and look with the original game designers and get the information left in the books for the two angel of darkness post games before we get the other three remastered so we can finish off at least the original Laura’s timeline that was set up
Im most excited for 4. But i am crazy excited for all of them for sure. And im def excited to see Angel as it was meant to be and see what real fans at Saber may have also added to it. So happy Lara is getting treatment by fans of pre established Lara. I do hope they continue AOD story but put her back in Tombs in the future. I'd even take these graphics and platforms. I'd rather have less detailed graphics than a Lara and game i dont recognize as what I grew to know it all as in the first place. Im very happy for you. You seem excited for AOD. I feel ya.

Srrsly, the modern ones were essential for me to play it (even tough i never had dificulty with tabk controls before, with Resident Evil for example). If it was only the graphics and modern controls id be already sold on the 4-6 remasters and now we are getting the full version of the AOD experience (the best they could do probablu to play) . Just to exemplify what i knew about AOD: Lara didnt even had her dual pistols in the game, and now they are putting it in the game, wich is AWESOME!! COME ON FEBUARY!! COME ON!!!

But the main story is finished with Underworld basically. Legend trilogy if it happens, ain't gonan be next year or I'll eat my Legend disc. Those games were more complex to make than Core Design games, no way re-creating them will be easy as Tomb Raider I-VI.
Tank controls for AoD weren't quite the same as 1-5. I'd love it if they added the exact original tank controls to AoD but I doubt they have. The PS2 controls broke my brain back when it came out...I had to wait 18 years and finish it on PC with a fan patch 🤣
AOD has its pluses and hopefully the remaster will make them stand out, however it’s very of its era and was made to capitalise on the success of Buffy, the Da Vinci Code and the popularity of “Angels” being used for popular media- Dark Angel, Angel, Charlie’s angels, The Crow:City of Angels.
