    Ignition problem, fuel pump, tires? REH second thoughts. Maybe we need to go back to gravity gas tank, magneto, and kick starter, tubeless tyres. KISS

    Great job on this set of videos, good job on the edits. What camera did you use?

      It's all GoPro Hero 9 or 8. Nothing special. Thanks for watching

      Thanks! The Actual SM500 route was created by a guy named Andy Simons - check the description in the video for a link. The only choices I made was the route to get there from Saluda NC which was pretty fun - see Day 1 of this trip.

    Sorry John. The camera on the moving helmet just drives me nuts and jerks my eyes right out of their sockets.

      Sorry to hear that. Don't watch the video with the section of The Tail of the Dragon! LOL
      Thank you for the feedback

      @@JohnnyPowRides Thanks John. I realize that there is going to be helmet movement. But Angelo edits the quick head movements out. I really appreciate that.

      @@gorrdd No worries. I hope you stay subscribed to the channel because I don't plan on all my videos being nausea cams. I have a few big events planned coming up!

      I now think that the 60p frame rate I used on this video (as a test) adds to the annoying jarring and seasick look. I haven't used it again.

    Are there people who do this route on a bike, bikepacking?

    • @JohnnyPowRides
      @JohnnyPowRides  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes - tons! In fact we say almost no one doing it on motorcycle, but each day saw probably between 5 and 25 cycle riders. Saw a few hikers too, but by far it's the bikepackers where it seems the most popular. Most go North to South it seems. The closer I got to the end the more I saw. I was very amazed. Riders of all ages.

    What is the best time of the year to go up there? When it's not so hot.

      I don't live there myself, but last year we did it late March or early April (can't remember) but it was perfect. It was good on this trip actually (Memorial Day weekend) but just a tad warmer than normal. When I said it was "hot" on this trip I was also wearing all that black riding gear. Compared to where I live (Columbia SC) it was much cooler!

    Maybe you should find out where your air filter is. 🤦‍♀️

      I knows it's there I've just never taken that side cover off and looked at it or what the airbox looks like, smarty cat
