After using it for a bit batching out some wood this week, I am overall pleased with it. Is it a Domino, No, Is it much cheaper and get the job done. Yes. Biggest issues for me are if it moves on you at the wrong time you can get a bit of a kickback. With your hand so close. Not a good feeling. You have to hold it very tight. Small pieces take some clamping finesse with such a large opening on the fence if you are close to the end of a board. I am going to work on some modifications to hopefully add a clear dust collection shroud which will also protect hands a bit, and add a plexiglass plate to the fence to close up the opening since I only use 5mm and 8mm dominos. That should help with support a bit. I do like your clamping jig idea there and am going to make one of those as well. That will help alot of those issues too. All in all I think it is a great alternative and gets the job done as it should once you get used to it.
Hello, can you provide any detail on how the side-to-side motion is facilitated? You can clearly see from the video a linear guide rail for movement back and forth, but it is not obvious how transverse motion is created.
@@steviedb9 it has some spring tension but all done by hand the front to back rail is only guide. You can make circles basically with the router. Only limit is your stops in both direction
What's the maximum length a mortise can be made? Also, is it possible to use on a face? I'd imagine it would work if a fence is removed, but it would need an adjustment mark on the base.
Love the product, but I have trouble with alignment. I mark my pieces on the face side, with the two pieces side by side. When I'm trying to line up the mortiser with my mark, the pointer on the fence covers the mark completely. I can estimate, of course, but am I using it correctly? It feels like the pointer could have stopped a centimeter or so short of the edge of the fence.
Hi, the stop blocks can be adjusted for alignment. Remove the front fence by loosening the four bolts and overextend the carriage a bit to expose the stop block set screws. Align the carriage to the base.

Any plans for Milwaukee router? I’m on the Milwaukee platform and would love to not have to buy into another tool group
Great design. I bought a Domino 500 a year or two ago and it’s used on everything. Way too expensive but this is a great alternative. Well done.
thanks. It is not as good as a festool. just a versatile jig for trim router.
nice job. Make version two with angle adjustment and possible dust collection

Angle adjustment is a top feature for loose tenon joinery.
As of Jan 2023, out of stock. Any idea whe the Makita version will be back in stock?
What a great design! Would be even beter if you could do miters with it too.
Very well done sir, with a little refinement I think that this is definitely a potential contender for the domino.
This video looks different than the one you are selling on the website you linked. Do you have videos of the new design?

Around 2 inch. The fence can be taken down to use on face. Yes, marking will be helpful
Do you make your own lose tenons, and what size router bit are you using and what size tenon?
Are you considering doing another model with angle adjustment?
That would be too expensive and much more work.
