I have no idea how many spoons my dad lost in the garden because he wouldn't buy a trowl. Then we moved to Montana and all the measuring cups disappeared to measure oil and gas for the chainsaw.

I loved your stories tonight. Lee-Ske guarding the gate while Cora took a break and Cora sharing some of her special yogurt food. Makes me happy to know they are bonded. I’ve never heard of a dog coming into heat right after delivering. All our mothers were well past weaning. I’d say it was about 4 months after delivering. It’s best to let Cora rest at least one heat cycle in between breeding but your vet will advise you. I raised German Shepherds, it might be different for Anatolian Shepherds. You’re going to have a blast with the puppies. They are so much fun. I used to laugh when they all would get in their food dish - what a mess but so hilarious. Cora is a wonderful mother. At a month you may want to help her and them out and start putting a milk replacer in with puppy food. They’ll be shredding those nipples and that’ll give her a break, she’ll still nurse them until she’s Had It. What a super dog. My mother in law had 10 children and I was blessed with her last.

Check Cora's backend to see if there is a discharge. She shold have "cleaned" within a few days after having the puppies, but if there is still a discharge now, she could have retained a placenta and that can cause a nasty infection and even infertility in the future. Since it's almost impossible for you to get her in the car to the vet, you might check if a mobile vet can check her and treat her if needed. I can't wait to see the pups start tottering around - they are their cutest at about 3-5 weeks. Cora's a good mama and Leeske is being a good, protective daddy.

Just a suggestion: move the "pest goats" in with the donkeys until you can sell them. As far as the Emu, Cog Hills Farms, Jason has a male emu and Nugget follows him all the time. He also pecks his shoes. When Jason starts paying him attention, sometimes Nugget lays down to get pet. Maybe that'll work with yours too. Love your videos, don't stress too much!

Our vet suggested we start offering puppies puppy chow mush as soon as their eyes open. He said they'll crawl all over it at first. I would just say to keep this in mind and use your judgement as to when to start. Look for weight loss or obvious signs of hunger or Kora not being able to keep up with pups needs. You have a wonderful litter there. Puppy breath is the best!

They come back in season when the pups are around 4 months, no need to worry yet. They lose some discharge for a few weeks after whelping it's normal. Cora will leave the pups for longer now to get a break, she knows they are OK. You are doing a great job.

She reminds me of my dads dog, catahoula ridgeback with a leopard mix in there. She had 13 pups and they were a riot as they grew and messy. I only partially helped with the pups but it was pure chaos. Very smart dogs and puppies.

Oh I just love all the animals. The puppies are growing in leaps and bounds. They are just the cutest. Also the goslings are super cute. I didn’t realise they would be so yellow. I certainly hope the geese will raise them and keep them safe. I know it’s nature but it still seems cruel that they may be taken by hawks or such. Just be aware , infection can also give off an aroma like they are on heat. Maybe good idea to just rule that out.
If she is having a bloody discharge at this point, 3 weeks past whelping, take her to the vet immediately.

Some male emus whether they have a female or not, may take a shine to us humans, following us around, strutting around and circling us with their neck feathers puffed out, putting on a lovely display of their handsomeness for us.
Oh I just love all the animals. The puppies are growing in leaps and bounds. They are just the cutest. Also the goslings are super cute. I didn’t realise they would be so yellow. I certainly hope the geese will raise them and keep them safe. I know it’s nature but it still seems cruel that they may be taken by hawks or such. I also can’t stop laughing at Yoshi following you around. You spoke too soon saying he was over the “stalking”. I think you may be right about the Alpha thing with him. Love your farm Kevin.
