Toob internet services have been installing their broadband in our local community, bringing Gigabyte internet to our homes.
We have been using BT Broadband for over 2 years now with connection speed 71MB with upload rate of around 19mb, now it time to take this to the next level.

Hello Jack! Thanks for taking the time to share such an in-depth review of our broadband, which I can confirm is 100% full-fibre from our exchange directly into your home (FTTP). We love your passion for all-things network; if you have your own router or mesh system you can plug the router directly into the ONT (black box on the wall) via ethernet and it should work seamlessly! We're reach out to you separately to chat through some future collaboration options so keep an eye on your inbox 😊

My current Asus router is setup for a FTTC connection currently, with their Radius login details. Do I need Radius for your connected?

Thanks for the video. Very helpful. Was surprised at the damage done to outside of property to install the box. Holes in the wall to install lines etc. Is not as bad as it looks. Or do they come back and patch it up.

I bet they don't come back and patch up the oversize hole in the wall !!😢!???

I am getting this installed on Monday. Hope it is as fast as they say. Customer with VirginMedia broadband for 21 years! they just cannot compete on price and speed now.

I have access to toob and I’m always Testing on it, and the speed is always there. Uploading files are fast.

I like your passion. I cant see how it would be coxial at any point, it would be full fibre the whole way (as per the Toob comment). Also (my guess), as you are doing a speed test via WiFi on a mobile and I suspect that your WiFi (and possibly the phone) is the limiting factor here, you would need WiFi6 APs (and a phone with WiFi6 capability) and connecting via 5GHz (not 2.4GHz) within close proximity of the WiFi AP (where the signal strength is maximum) to fully take advantage of the full 900Mbps, the device you are testing on would also need to be able to handle processing that much data as well.
With full fibre it doesn't have the same SNR issues that you had on copper lines (which is what it takes a while to train up on to get maximum speed).
I am based in Ash, getting Toob connected tomorrow, will feedback my findings.

I’ve got the latest iPhone which works well on speed testing at higher speeds. I’m now on virgin media so it’s coax to my flat and the router comes with Wi-Fi six and ethernet port 2.5 gigs and I’m able to see speed of 1200 down and 140 upload on my virgin line

I'm curious about the statement you made regarding the cable from the pole to your house possibly being coax - I'm fairly sure if it were they would not be able to call this FTTP. It would be great if you could get some more information from toob and clarifying this.

Jack, I also live in Camberley and recently swapped from Virgin to Toob. No complaints about the speed/fibre connected services, however their Wireless singnal strength in the home is terrible. i'd like to replace the toob router to BT homehub 5/6, Any advise on how i do this without Toob offering port forwarding? Thx

The purple cables are for his LAN but sadly, they won’t last if in the sun as external CAT5 (or whatever they are) will degrade badly due to UV. Probably the least technical review ever made. Took marketing should at least teach him the company name. FTTP - it’s in the name. No COAX used

    • @jacktechtips

Purple cables are my own cables which I’ve been replaced with proper outdoor black cables.
