- In memory of Bob Saget, let's take a look back at an NBC game show that ended much sooner than it deserved, and a format that I believe is due for a revival.

1v100 was a banger show. I'm sad it didn't get the love it needed.
I was surprised when I saw the total episode count was so low. Feels like it was around long enough and had a big enough impact to get more than 28 episodes…
@@bcschneider53 Yeah I couldn't believe it when you said it only had 28 episodes.
@@Espik_23it had 3 seasons I think
May Bob rest in peace. Thanks for this review, and I agree. 1 vs. 100 SHOULD'VE lasted much longer.
I agree. I will host the show.
I have a suggestion. Do the UK game show Bridge Of Lies.
This show was amazing!
Indeed it was. Hope we see the format come back soon!
God rest his soul🙏🏾
Yes this show should’ve had a longer run.
1 VS 100 was my all time favorite NBC game show, the GSN reboot was okay but they took away from my favorite help "Ask the mob" which 2 people are randomly selected 1 has the right answer and 1 has the wrong answer and the other remaining wrong answer is blocked off.
Do you take any suggestions for more shows? If so, Power of 10 would be good!
I definitely want to take a look at that one eventually. I must confess I haven't seen nearly as much of it though...
You should've mentioned the questionable practices of the GSN version, namly that all the questions were asked to the mob pre-show and they stacked the questions to ensure a few mob members were eliminated each question and the 1 was highly unlikely to reach 90 mob members eliminated (with not a single person getting to that point in the 40 episode GSN run despite it happening several times on the primetime version).
Is there a source for all of this? That sounds a lot like rigging, which became a federal crime thanks to the quiz show scandals of the late '50s...if it actually happened I feel like it would have been (and would continue to be) much bigger headlines...
I remember that episode with the million dollar winner.
A Hallmark question, AND ALL OF THE LADIES GOT IT WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was my very first thought & reaction: WHAT IN THE WORLD??!!!!!??? How does a MAN get a Hallmark question correct, BUT ALL OF THE LADIES MISS IT???!!!!!!!!!!!???? JUST HOW?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????
If anything, I would think that the LADIES get that Hallmark question CORRECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn I totally forgot about this show! I watched this when I was in my second year of Jr. college. Regarding the Battle of the Sexes episode, it seems women are not as smart as they turn out to be after all!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Oan of course, may Bob Saget rest in peace. It was so sad how he died unexpectedly. We all were shocked all the same.
was figuring you were gonna make a video about this considering recent circumstances, been watching a lot of the GSN Version on Pluto TV Lately.
Also, had a weird pipe dream the other day about a Grand Slam Revival, upgrade the count from 16 to 64, and put a million dollar prize instead of 100k, randomly thought about it and wish it would get revived.
64 would be amazing, though I’m not sure how many you could get back for a single tournament…then again, Jeopardy! brought back many more for the 2005 Ultimate Tournament of Champions, so I’m sure you could get a good group of big winners together again.
Pluto has been great. Beggars can’t be choosers, so I’m grateful for the shows we have gotten, but I’m still holding out hope for shows like Saget 1 vs 100, Classic Millionaire, and Greed at some point.
Colin's Tribal Council I think Grand Slam could definitely go for a revival, considering that on the current season of Jeopardy, Season 38, 2 players have won a little over 1 million dollars.
Plus, I know a person who won $73,000 on The Weakest Link hosted by Jane Lynch, and I know of another person who won $70,000 on The Chase hosted by Sara Haines.
Now, with the pandemic still going, would the webcams work for the Mob these days? I mean, other game shows like LMAD are doing it.
I've always loved 1 vs. 100. Great show right next to Deal or No Deal.
Crazy how Deal became a pop culture icon while 1 vs. 100 faded into relative obscurity. NBC really had a good 1-2 punch with those two shows.
@@bcschneider53 Oh well, So much for that to happen.
At least there were other versions of 1 Vs 100. One for the UK that aired on BBC One From 2006 to 2009 & the other being an Australian Version that aired on The Nine Network.
Fun Fact: Number 7 at 2:42 is Meghan Markle, who is now the Duchess of Sussex
I was wondering if someone would notice!
@@bcschneider53 Did you specifically include that clip as a sort of "easter egg" lol. Also I'm British so if I didn't notice that I would be in prison
@@ciarrid2146 Definitely had it in mind as an Easter Egg
Ben Schneider I do agree with you that 1 vs 100 is due for a revival. In fact, being a current follower of trivia game shows, I actually have ideas for additional "mob" members, aside from inviting back Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter.
My ideas for "mob" members are:
Ogi Ogas
James Holzhauer
Buzzy Cohen
Arthur Chu
Matt Amodio
Amy Schneider
Natasha Lily (who won $70,000 on the most recent season of "The Chase" on ABC)
Imagine if EVERYONE in the studio (not just the Mob) had gotten that Greeting Card question wrong.
Probably the only way "either you will win or they will win" could be proven otherwise...
