yo i just subbed a few days ago. had the flu I literally watched your vids 90% of the time. love your choice of movies, and you a pretty smart stand up dude. glad to support your channel!
I would never ever call this underrated. Now.. Sadly forgotten and under seen in The current day? Absolutely. This film had an amazing run . It just kept growing and growing..I Believe it literally took sixteen weeks after opening before it finally hit #1 at the box office. This is the film that officially launched Ben Stiller up a level.. And the third big film from the Farrelley Bros after Dumb & Dumber and Kingpin... This movie firmly put Cameron Diaz on the A list... And just such a fun ensemble all around..
@@kyleroberts5798 I don't know though.. You had Carrey and Zellweger.. even then we never got that rumored spin off.. I think Shallow Hal is more underrated. Jack Black just hadn't got that critical mass quite yet sadly I think most of their films suffer in the current age as they were always about people different but showcase then front and center and as heroes. Characters like Warren or Harry and Lloyd and even Charlie would at that time have been played purely for laughs.. Or pity.. But rarely were they their own characters. I love the scene in this film that when Ted actually touches the headphones and Warren just says"bye Ted" which tells you do much about how he has changed his he and even the audience feels about Ted by the end. Unfortunately stuff like this which might have been seen as progressive then is now "problematic"..
"We got a bleeder!" Fun Fact: Cameron Diaz admitted to Jay Leno to being the dead body inside the body-bag. What Script Fact: Dropping Ted on the stretcher wasn't scripted. When it happened, they cut to make sure Ben Stiller was okay and then thought it was so funny they left it in. Lost In Translation Fact: Lee Evans' English accent in the movie was characterized by a film critic as "quite possibly the worst fake British accent in a movie" he had ever heard. Lee Evans is in fact English. However the accent he used in this film was exaggerated for the role. Father's Cameo Fact: Cameron Diaz's father was on set during filming, so the Farrellys decided to throw him in the movie. In the scene where Ben Stiller is released from prison after being wrongfully accused of murder, Cameron's dad is the inmate in the front with a beard and long hair jeering at Ben.
I always hear people saying English accents are so bad in movies and then I hear English people and I go yeah that sounds right to me. Especially when u hear different dialects
This is one of the funniest movies ever made. The scenarios just keep unfolding. "Twice last year!!" My favorite line. That little look Chris Elliot gives when Mary says he looks....good. This movie came to my town for a week maybe, left, then it got super popular and came back and sold out. I had a little cardboard Puffy in full cast for my car. It was very popular.
I don't know if this movie is underrated by today's standards, but as someone who saw it when it first came out, I can definitely say it wasn't then. It was one of the biggest hits of 1998 and everyone was talking about it. It was one of Ben Stiller's breakout roles (at least for comedies), it got a Golden Globe nomination, and it came up on a lot of lists of modern comedy classics for years later. Even the song during the end credits had a revival on radio stations afterward.
When you said this was the year you were born I died lol… I was in the 7th grade and had the misfortune of seeing this at the theater with my parents. All I can say that it was both a memorable and awkward experience. Especially with my mom sitting next to me hysterically laughing nudging my arm during the jo/hair gel scene.
Another Cameron Diaz movie that is hilarious is "The Sweetest Thing" with Christina Applegate, Justin Bateman (who is always a hilarious 'straight-sarcastic' character.
In the end the creepy P.I. wound up with Mary. Top 70's/80's actor Matt Dillon & Cameron Diaz hooked up on set & were an item for a couple of years. 🖖🌎❤️
Anyway it's not like belly laughs but I will tell you one of my favorite movies from that time frame was another Ben Stiller movie where he was kind of a minor character it's called reality bites and had a fantastic cast and it was basically about you know trying to get into adulting main characters were Winona Ryder and Ethan hawke there was a few other characters who I recognized from other things but I don't really remember their names I had a fantastic soundtrack and it just makes me feel like it's at the 90s again every time I watch it janeane garofalo was in that friend group
How in hell have you avoided this movie for this long?! You're a Primate! This movie should've been devoured years ago! All the best, ps - it was the 'romantic movie' that held you back - this is not 'a romantic movie '- it's a comedy!
This movie definitely isn’t underrated it’s highly rated and was very popular when it came out. This I would say is straight comedy, I think most comedies of the era had a romance aspect. If you do like Rom Coms check out Better off Dead, one of my faves and some other 80s movies
I cant believe you didnt mention how fuckin hot she was. Its still ok. Bro her legs are longer than you are tall...😅 It was believable that everyone was fallin for her. Perfect casting.
Bro I was starting my senior year of high school that year I graduated in 99. This is a straight-up classic the fact that you were not expecting it to be funny bro it's funnier than it's romantic I mean there's a romantic aspects everyone wants to be romantic with her but let's not get it twisted this movie is hilarious
Check out The Farrelly Brothers other movies. Kingpin, Dumb & Dumber (you've probably seen it), Stuck on You, Me, Myself & Irene, and Shallow Hal. All very similar in tone to this film, and all are great fun.
Underrated? This is a classic. I'm surprised you were unfamiliar with it. It is widely considered one of the best comedies of all time and is one of the highest-grossing rom-coms of all time. I could tell from watching your reaction and not relating to certain things that you probably never saw other classics like The Mask (Jim Carrey's iconic performance, the gorgeous Cameron Diaz's first movie ever, and the best dog performance in movie history) and My Cousin Vinny (the most classic police contextual misunderstanding in movie history and Oscar Winner for Marisa Tomei). I also wished you showed your reaction to Brett Favre being her bf, "Brett." Ha! I watched this reaction and ate my ItsAPrimate "Better Call Saul" meal because where the @#@# is Season 5, Episode 4? It's nearly 10pm already! :) Kidding. I'm sure it'll be here soon. You da best- man! Great reaction, as usual. So glad you're now familiar with this CLASSIC: There's Something About Mary! Keep'em coming! But Better Call Saul next - PLEASE! :)
If your junk gets tangled into a zipper, you rip that zipper apart and destroy the article of clothing in the process. You don't unzip it and hope for the best.
Hey man, since you're checking out Ben Stiller, I suggest you watch The Secret Life of Walter Mity. It's a really good and underrated movie by him, in which he plays a more "serious" but sympathetic role
Check out The Heartbreak Kid, Going The Distance, Saving Silverman, Bubble Boy or Just Friends for more raunchy rom-coms like this 1! You'll enjoy them! Please believe!
This is the director's cut, which includes a few scenes that I personally think are not very good and a few other scenes that linger on a bit too long.
104 movies is nothing at home my record for movies seen at a cinema in one year was in 1997 and i saw 84. We had a thing back then called dusk till dawns where they showed 4 movies starting at 11pm.
I was a big fan and I’m probably in the minority in noticing this but I have major misophonia so the loud ass knuckle cracking directly into the mic before the movie even starts is a deal breaker for me. Edit that shit out next time. God damn.
I used to be highly addicted to speed like highly and i never cleaned once infact that felt like i was wasting my high i use to play ps4 game non stop while on gear.

"Not Another Teen Movie" is another hilarious movie.
Jakey Jakey, about to make a big...mistakey...
Along Came Polly is another Ben Stiller film i highly recommend has Jennifer Anniston
This is why I don't use hair gel
🤣

🤣
I just realized the cop at the bathroom window is the next door neighbor to Charlie in Me, Myself, and Irene. 😂
And the bad guy, Dickie, was in this movie for a second as the guy Tucker/Norm threw the pizza at.
The scene with the dog being electrocuted, burned & washed made me want to hurl the first time I saw it a few months back. This movie is crazy
Another Cameron Diaz movie that is hilarious is "The Sweetest Thing" with Christina Applegate, Justin Bateman (who is always a hilarious 'straight-sarcastic' character.

Watched this twice in the theatre back in the day and the audience were roaring with laughter for some of those scenes.
7:11 Younger? I'm 47 and did that a year or two ago. And yeah, there was some blood.
Saw this in theater at 27 yro at the mall in Coconut Grove living The Life. South Beach Bum '98-'01!🤘😎
Instant Classic. Good Times!
See ya!
✌️🌎❤️
17:38 man every time I see Harland Williams I giggle just how you did😂😂he is so silly hilarious. If you haven’t seen half baked check that out
90's rom-coms were the best man! they dont make them lie this anymore thats for sure!

HI, TED!!!!!
I cant believe you didnt mention how fuckin hot she was. Its still ok. Bro her legs are longer than you are tall...😅 It was believable that everyone was fallin for her. Perfect casting.
This is IMO the greatest Rom Com of all-time.

Movie 43 was 🤢🤮
I saw this in the theater with my dad when I was 21. Some parts were awkward.
If your junk gets tangled into a zipper, you rip that zipper apart and destroy the article of clothing in the process. You don't unzip it and hope for the best.
I love this one, Primate! 💦 I'm so glad I saw it in the cinema. 🔸 Congratulations on four years of reacting! 🎆
Has anybody requested the movies (Deuce Bigalow) and (Shallow Hal)??
Super funny movies... I'm still waiting on that (Enemy of the State) reaction.
Funny movie. Definitely check out King Pin, The Heartbreak Kid, and Say It Isn’t So for some more funny comedies.
I saw this comedy in the theater. It was a great experience. Great reaction bro! 👍🏿
Hey man, since you're checking out Ben Stiller, I suggest you watch The Secret Life of Walter Mity. It's a really good and underrated movie by him, in which he plays a more "serious" but sympathetic role

This is the director's cut, which includes a few scenes that I personally think are not very good and a few other scenes that linger on a bit too long.
