i learned a lot listening to John growing up. my favorite Door, he's the one that taught me what a ride cymbal was. seriously underappreciated drummer. so theatrical. the man played so many non-rock beats in The Doors. he deserves much MUCH more credit as a drummer than he gets.

This man's a legend. Not only for his drumming, but for the way he's defended the band's legacy and refused to sell out despite being offered millions and having Robby and Ray against him!
@Deniz General Motors offered $5 mil!ion(?) to use 'Break On Through' in a Cadillac commercial years back, John Densmore & Jim Morrison's estate refused.
Living legend. A monument for entire era. And he is not an old man. He is the same guy from the 60’s, just his body got old. Thank you, John Densmore and Robby Krieger. You are awesome.
Hi John. I lived on Densmore Ave. It’s a small street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Your music will entertain and influence and inspire people not even born yet...that’s got to make you feel special.
Music...The manipulation of thought and feeling. Creating resonance and dissonance simultaneously. I love The Doors! One of the most influential bands to shape societal thought in all of history.
The greatest thing about John is how much he has mellowed as he’s gotten older. For so many years after Jim died, John openly resented him. But as he’s gotten older his views towards Jim have been more positive and you can tell he appreciates the chance he was given to work with such a genius

The Doors have been my favorite band since I was 12 or so.....I'm 35 now, nearly 36. I just recently listened too all the records from front to back in order.......drank some wine and stayed up until like 7a.m. lol and just had the best time. Just so unique, so rare, and I miss them man. I mean they are right here but I miss them.....its a wild feeling.
L.A. Woman is my favorite album by far. It has a feel to it like everything came together all on one album. It's a shame you never had a chance to tour for that album. Every time I hear ROTS, I focus on Jim's whispering - the last thing he would record in studio.

John played with finesse. Your average joe blow thinks what makes a drummer great is only how hard he hits the drums
He is under the top 30 drummers (said the rollung stones Magazine)
John - Even though I'll probably never play the drums, I could take drum lessons from you all day long!

You should man try it out
