This is a wonderful album. One of my favourites. All the songs were new despite being played live. I still consider this group of musicians to be one of the best ever compiled. I suppose for this reason my favourite tune is "We Belong Together". The title perfectly sums up how a feel about this group.

Tom Scott - New York Connection. This was the first album I bought featuring Steve Gadd.
Dave Grusin - NY/LA Dream Orchestra. Because it is great (and a live recording).
Richard Tee - Strokin'. Because I adore the duets with Richard Tee; "Take the A Train" features on this album.
L'Image2.0 . Because it's a band setting of equals and reunited Steve with Tony Levin.
Eric Clapton - One More Car, One More Rider. It's a live recording covering a lifetime's work of Eric Clapton. Steve is all over this album/DVD. And he always plays the song perfectly.

Great Choice....my favorite too as well as Gadd playing live with Al Jarreau in Japan on Spain with Lenny Castro on percussion. The solo is brilliant.. This Apple Juice tune sounds like a cut from Tom Cat /Tom Scott & the LA Express....similar composition and melodic structure with John Guerin on drums. Gadd is a great sub for Guerin's style.
A great choice, an wealth of great playing. His solo with those hi hat catches would snuff the life out of an asthmatic.

wow. I had forgotten I was at one of these nights. I remember standing in line early with my sister to get a good table up front, and it was COLD outside..The problem with seeing and hearing it at 20 years old instead of older is you just don't understand it as well.. Same as seeing/hearing the 3 Quartets band in Boston.
