On every video about this stuff, like literally 99% of them, there are bunch of people saying that black people are just too sensitive, you'd think there were absolutely no racist people in existence based on this reaction, but racism is hella common, and for a lot of people they think it's funny and edgy to say anti-black things. Yes, if she had combed it before she jumped on the shower, she 100% would have saved it. She could have saved it anyway by putting conditioner in her hair in the shower, and pulling gently on the ends of her hair to kind of pull the knots out from underneath, if that makes sense. I've had long hair all my life. There's a way to get out ALL knots without a lot of damage. Lol
She was literally being racist asf in her videos like did anybody actually WATCH. And this is exactly why we say the things we say not that it changes anything. This is a prime example of why telling black people to “educate” y’all on our culture is the goofiest shit ever. Y’all ignore the most blaring red flags of racism and give these people so much grace but let a black person do anything and y’all are down their throat 🙄. She’s patting her head saying “do you like my natural afro clearly fully taunting comments that were accusing her of cultural appropriation. The fact that that is her response shows exactly why she would get braids like these and unironically, it’s always the same kind of yt girl getting braids. @nicholasmaielli3806 wasn't a joke her entire video was her making fun of black women. Then when the black women told her how her hair wasn't going to be ok with the braids bc she don't take care of it right she got mad. But look who's hair fell out. She should've listened
Yeah, she doesn’t know when to stop, I really don’t think people wouldnt of had an issue with her hair if she actually had content and a better attitude. She has no real content and made her terribly done braids content along with antagonizing blk women.
And what were those women saying to her? Not condoning her saying that, however, If you threaten to bash and stab someone because of their hair, then...💁♀️ if the shoe fits.
Exactly! I'm sure you've untangled way worse than that as well. My niece didn't comb her hair for over 2 months once. My sister in law brought her over to my house and explained that not only did she not comb her hair for over 2 months, she washed it the way it was. (Up in a messy bun with several pony trail holders wrapped around it.) Mind you, she is half Hawaiian and has very long (below her butt), thick, curly hula hair. I grabbed my conditioners to make my extra strength conditioner concoction and my combs that I use to detangle. She starts whining because I guess her Mom tried to get it out for over an hour. SMH, she should have just come to me to begin with. Well it only took me about half an hour to get it out. No pain or yanking or pulling. She was so happy. So I decided to call her Mom at work and mess with her. Lmao 😂 I told her Mom that it was too bad and that I wasn't able to get the knots out and that I had used my last resort and cut it out. Well in her family, having the hula hair is a must. Their Papa pays them $200 a year to not cut their hair. This being said, my sister in law freaked out! She started screaming and cussing me out. I could tell she wanted to strangle me. 😂😂😂 I told her I was just messing with her and got screamed at again. 😂😂 I was told not to ever joke like that. That I had given her a heart attack and she was freaking out because she didn't know how she was going to tell her family. Then I got to give her a hard time because I was able to get it all out in no time and she had been to cosmetology school twice and still couldn't figure it out. Good memories! 😂😂😂

That’s why I immediately went to an African hair salon when I realised I couldn’t handle all the knots. They combed it all out and my hair was fine ❤ the ladies there were also really sweet
As a low porosity coarse curly haired woman in a family of straight hair, it was videos from black women on TH-cam that helped me manage my hair. There was a black family that braided the top of my head when i was a kid a couple of summers, probably the best my hair ever looked during the summer as a kid because they felt bad about my hair 😂 my hair was constantly a "rat nest" as my mother put it and would often mat up. Hair types matter!

But it also becomes a problem when they start mocking black women stereotypes ,, like she did in the video with the patting her head and saying she has an “natural Afro”
I'm Caucasian and I got a weave and it made my hair wayy healthier and stronger once I took it out. And I have FINE hair. The ladies at the salon did an amazing job and added textured hair while braiding and really educated me on how to take care of it. It looked like my natural hair and it was my favorite hair and salon trip that I've ever had! Like sometimes keep things to yourself and respect others if you know it's controversial online. She MADE it disrespectful by her behavior and actions when she had a good opportunity to educate people and respect others cultures!
If your hair was done up like this, it isn't "weave." That term is usually reserved for when you get your hair cornrowed down and the fake hair is woven into those rows with thread. There are different terms for hairstyles such as extensions, braids, weaves, wigs, and perms (which aren't really perms, but we call it that anyway?) Anyways, happy learning.
Although you are 2000% correct, she got what she deserved. She was being disrespectful and trying to taunt blk woman so this happened. If you want to wear braids do so but it's not what you do bout how you do it. When I was younger I braided several non-blk women hair and they never were disrespectful about it and neither was I.
How was she taunting black people. And when did braids originate from a black country? They are so ancient that we don’t where they started from but it was most likely the Middle East.
Meanwhile Black women are constantly being told their braids aren't correct for professional settings...and laws have been put in place so that they aren't discriminated against. This girl antagonized black women...she could have rocked her braids and STFU about it. Karma got her ass.
Yeah I’m a black woman and I learned the hard way. I didn’t know I was supposed to comb out my hair first… I washed my hair and thought I was gonna have to shave my head… patience and determination is what got them knots out. 😂😂 it can happen to anybody. Just learn by asking questions before you go out and do stuff.
i hope ppl in the comments can CUT THIS BS abt this girl having good intentions, or thanking OP for explaining what she did wrong calmly. The girl did this to mock black people cut and dry. She did her makeup differently to look much darker ONLY when she was wearing the braids , put on long nails ONLY when she had them braids in and did the aggressive head pat stereotype while LAUGHING. Patting your head is normal if you have in cornrows, feed-ins, loc styles, or wigs with long nails, but its almost never to that extent. Furthermore, that trope is so common when trying to mock or satirize ghetto ppl, you can probably find it in at least 3 shane dawson videos from back in the day💀 And to the ppl saying her lil "natural afro" comment at the end wasnt malicious need to go finish MIDDLE SCHOOL first bc you know damn well thats not what she meant. The term "natural hair" is synonymous to the hair of people within the african diaspora. Have you EVERR heard a white person refer to their hair as an afro? The term Afro was MADE for black people to rebel against the pressure to hide their natural hair behind relaxers, wigs, etc, something thats not an issue if you grew up 100% WHITE. She's obviously doing this to make black people mad, but yall wanna give her chance and chance AGAIN without ever learning why black people are upset. Its not hard for white people to learn about the risks of dying your hair for the first time or side effects for getting a perm, so why can yall do it for hairstyle thats obviously COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from what you're used to? ONE google search couldve told her how to how to properly take care of her hair. ONE google search couldve told her how to take the braids down for straight hair properly. Another google search couldve told her how to detangle matted hair at home without having to cut it, but she couldnt be bothered. She didn't even have to read actually because of TH-cam. She even had so many tiktoks of black ppl, in comments and duets, TRYING to educate her or at least warn her on what can happen if u dont take care for it properly, but she didn't want to listen. Black people have spent time and time again trying to explain to others not only this but the systemic racism still VERY PRESENT, but we are just seen as being "too aggressive" or "bullying". She was rude and saying disrespectful/racist remarks to them and then said it was okay because her children were mixed. I’m black, I could care less who wears braids but it becomes a problem when you try to perpetuate a racial stereotype because you have them, or you don’t bother to learn why certain hair types(I.e. non curly/textured hair) typically can’t handle the style. I try to keep my mind open enough to comprehend younger generations. My dearest friends are 15-20 years younger than me. I do not get the braided hair issue at all because when I was 13 I had a sleepover birthday party. Some of the girls were black and they asked if we could all do each other's hair. Of course the request was met with an enthusiastic yes! It was actually a lot of fun. Dana braided my hair. I didn't keep it that way long because I don't have the face for that style. The experience however was a bonding experiencing. Girls being girls and "prettying" each other up. Here in 2023, WTF happened to that kind of connectedness???
I think what happened is that those girls grew up and were discriminated due to those hairstyles. There are lawsuits currently due to blk women being discriminated against due to those hairstyles. Reality happened.
That's because kids have to be taught to hate. When you see someone as basically the same as you you don't have to draw any useless lines and excluding people and telling people they have to stay in their box and can only take part in things that are in their box. People no longer want unity. They want control.

i appreciate you not banging on her simply because she was white with that hairstyle. its nice to see people not only be respectful, but try their best to help out and explain why it didn’t work. also, the proper term to describe her hair would be “fro.” the reason people got offended with “afro” was because it stands for african-fro, which she does not have. i wouldn’t put her on full blast for that, but y’now, i don’t know the full story and whether or not this was intentional.

And who cares! She trolled black women, made songs about hanging black women- all because some black man is giving her dick. I guess she doesn’t know, as many of you don’t seem to know- black men give everybody dick. Period.
Braids look beautiful on black women, but just from what I’ve seen and my opinion I think black women need to be told and reminded that their natural hair is beautiful, and it’s more then fine to wear. I know my cousins that are black felt that it wasn’t “acceptable” or as beautiful to wear their hair natural. Which is so beyond f*cked up. I don’t want to speak for everyone but I wonder if that’s how others have felt. You can’t deny the beauty that comes from a black womens hair, radiant as hell skin, and lucious lips, so gorgeous!! And I’m over here with my 5 shades of pale ass skin haha. 😂
I think she looks good too. That’s not my issue tho. I have no opinion on braids and racism and all that stuff, nor am I black or white but it bothers me because I can just feel the itch. I have middle eastern thick hair but even my hair would be going through it. To care for medium thickness hair or even just regular thick hair that way can be really putting a lot of stress on the scalp and it can weaken the hair strands like crazy because our hair can’t handle as much tension. It just hurts me to see beautiful girls do this stuff without understanding that it’s not just a race thing you also have to think about the health of your hair.
She just didn’t detangle her hair properly. That’s why it turned out the way it did. Also, she wasn’t patient with her hair when it did tangle. Her hair wasn’t ruined, but I understand the frustration when your hair just stops cooperating. She cut her hair and it grew back lol so she was good 😂😂😂
Why are you taking the time to explain and understand the actions of someone who isn’t concerned at all about understanding you? Y’all weird ass black women are embarrassing as hell. Learn self love and stop being a pick me.
All she had to do was douse her hair w some super duper good conditioner and let it sit an hour Racing to get braids but don’t have the common sense to know how to detangle This wanna be “sista girl” is simple Plain and simple
I would completely understand if a mother doesn't have time to take care of her hair due to the overload of her routine, or a person wants to cut their hair to donate it, but what this girl is doing isn't detachment, it's self-destruction.
She didn't forget, she didn't know. Braids require knowledge before, during and after care.

Furthermore, that trope is so common when trying to mock or satirize ghetto ppl, you can probably find it in at least 3 shane dawson videos from back in the day💀
And to the ppl saying her lil "natural afro" comment at the end wasnt malicious need to go finish MIDDLE SCHOOL first bc you know damn well thats not what she meant.
