7:40 there was actually a story where a guy went into the wrong house (he thought he was going into his friends house cause it was similar and the key was in the same spot) and cleaned the entire apartment. Imagine the owners surprise when they came home to a clean house. Maybe that's what Jack needs lmao
I just keep imagining walking through your door and seeing laundry folded, dishes cleaned, dinner cooked, etc., when you know you didn't do it. Would you be paranoid that someone broke into your house or would you be grateful or nonchalant about it? Like "yeah, I had a home invader once, but he did all my chores for me so we're cool"
@@kupkate04 Honestly I would just change the locks and get a better security system. But would totally be nonchalant. Mainly annoyed cause my ADHD would make me forget where EVERYTHING was since it was moved.
The thumbnail to this makes me realize how perfectly primed Jack is to make an Analog Horror short film of his own, framed around a lets player hearing something in his house, investigating it, and Spooky Stuff happening but with a genuine, serious vibe about it.
13:00 what you should really do in any home invasion scenario where you know they’re in the house is just leave the house. Don’t lock yourself in with a stranger. Go outside and call the police. Then just wait. If there’s a car get the license plate number. If you see them leave record them. Simple as.
What if there's more than one? Like person number 2 is the getaway driver, or just a lookout. Could be just as risky leaving the house as staying inside. Also have to consider the area you live in. I live on a residential street where neighbors are on 3 sides, but if it's more isolated I'd feel like the noise of trying to leave would draw their attention more than just hiding.
@@kyuubinaruto17 if you’re so isolated that you have no way to signal for help you have to be able to help yourself. The only course of action when you are that alone is to own and have proper training in the use of a gun. This is one of the many reasons guns are so commonplace in rural areas
Jack : “This music feels way too happy-“ Me: *Spiraling down a horror fueled nostalgia nightmare from the fleets of broken Christmas toys in my basement.*
I could believe that the number of overlapping "Top of the mornin' to ya, laddies!" clips was anywhere between 5 and 5,000. Sean's been remarkably _consistent_ in his delivery of that line, at least since he grew out of his 'Awkward' phase.
Out of every horror game I've seen, this is the only one that had me genuinely curled up not wanting to watch the screen. It's the slow and deliberate pace, the constant feeling of not knowing what's behind you or around the corner, and the pressure of having to act fast while the game is forcing you to move slowly. It's genius and I hate it.
I had the exact same “is this how normal people feel?!” moment when I got my adhd meds so hard agree that it’s a mood. But I’m also watching this while unmedicated and procrastinating on my work 😅
The feeling of joy for Sean when he figured out how the puzzle works and was able to complete it quickly the second time around. Its so warming to see someone develop a greater understanding and support for functioning on a 'normal' level I was diagnosed with ADHD late last year (i'm 27years old) and I can completely relate to the medication actually helping me feel like I can function properly without being distracted
Yup, my first day on it I was like, I can THINK now? I was also able to notice things around a room more because I guess my brain was less tunneled in on the one think it thought was important at the moment
Jack: aiming for extremities is actually really difficult, that's why people are trained to go for center mass, and that's why vests are really quite effective. Even the best people with a firearm have pretty terrible aim when they're required to fire with any level of speed

Eveline just recently discussed her neurology too - I think you guys a blessed to have found each other. It's so nice to have neurologically atypical people in positions like yours. You're lovely folks, you make us laugh and feel connected, and you normalise the discourse surrounding mental health. Many of us out here value that a lot, so thank you. My diagnoses kicked my ass at first, and we still haven't found a way to manage the depression because of my physical reactions to those meds, but I turned to academia a while ago and discovered that I also have a massive capacity for learning in certain paradigms. Earned a gang of degrees (and a massive pile of student debt lol) and currently doing a PhD investigating how certain aspects of video game design may impact human cognitive connections to digital environments, and play mechanics, which might be able to produce elevated social and education outcomes for people with learning disabilities. So autism and ADHD are kinda of my superpowers now. I suck at socialising and relationships (except my cats - I'm so fkn typical!), but I excel at languages and HCI, and am looking to move into machine learning once I complete my doctorate. Thanks for being here for us, mate. You are an important part of many people's lives.
Neurodiverse is generally the preferred terminology now, since neuroatypical relies on othering people with conditions that mean someone has diverse neurology. Or to phrase it differently, it relies on the idea that neurotypical people are the 'normal' ones, while neuroatypical implies not being normal. Neurodiverse on the other hand doesn't have that implication of being "abnormal"- just that one is diverse in regards to neurology.
@@alchemysaga3745 I'm in my 40s, and when these issues were being investigated in my tine we were called 'atypical'. I get that terminology changes over time, but I will make my own decisions about how I address myself and my conditions, thank you very much. Further, I prefer to be 'atypical' rather than 'diverse'. Typical is what you just did: mansplained something no-one asked you to. Atypical is what I am: not typical, different, AKA something a little bit special.
@@danknfrshtv Not male, for one. Meaning quite literally can't be "mansplaining." For two, I'm autistic, have ADHD, depression, anxiety, and OCD- meaning that I am *literally* neurodiverse and am presenting the information from within the demographic it applies to. For three, I already had the idea that you are neuroatypical (as you prefer to be called), so the assumption that I didn't is rather baseless. Point four, I was referring to your use of it towards others, as your freedom of choice to use a term that has fallen out of favor, doesn't apply to use of it towards others. I literally gave you information on new terminology, and why that terminology is generally preferred, *because* of your use of it towards others. Instead of considering whether using terminology that is apparently outdated towards others was appropriate, you instead blew a gasket and made wild assumptions about me that were completely baseless because you took offense to someone giving you new information. Information that was presented in a neutral and educational manner, by someone who that information is relevant to. You then assumed that, because I 'disagreed' with you, I 'must' belong to demographics that you rather apparently dislike, and thus 'must' be in the wrong and bad, which you then used as an attack that was obviously meant to demean. One made without consideration of the possibility that you could, in fact, be in the wrong. In your haste to 'retaliate' to being informed of the use of an outdated term which could cause harm, you also revealed that your reasoning behind that choice of terminology is one that is rather concerning. You outed that your use of it is because you consider "typical" to be bad, worse, inferior, and that you use neuroatypical because it makes you feel superior to others. Which there is certainly some irony to you saying that you use neuroatypical because it makes you feel special while using typical as equivalent to rude and harmful behavior, when your reply itself is framed as being intentionally rude and *intended* to cause hurt. I could get into the other factors of how your use of it in founded in one of the very reasons that caused neuroatypical to fall out of common use- such as the implication that neurotypical individuals are 'less than' you in your eyes- but it's blatantly obvious that you have zero concern for the reality of how problematic the term became. Instead, I will simply comment that you did a magnificent job in displaying your ability to make a completely incorrect comment, but to do so while displaying truly impressive degrees of ignorance of the amount of hypocrisy that you have clearly based the entirety of your identity and self worth upon. Something I can guess is rather typical of what people think about you. And is certainly the very typical mindset of someone like you.
I love the stress this game managed to build up inside me with the countdown and with the music getting more and more intense. Plus the fact that this just feels so real, It makes up for quite an unnerving experience.
You literally just posted this on the same day somebody actually broke into my house, it was 6 a.m. this morning. Me and my partner were asleep and I heard something outside my bedroom door messing with the bathroom door, thinking it was one of the cats I didn’t think much about it then I heard a voice so I quietly open the door and there is just dude just standing there. I honestly thought it was my partner’s older brother because he comes in and out of the house all the time but apparently that wasn’t his older brother. We told him to leave and then we called the cops immediately. Apparently the dude was high on out of his mind and got confused on who’s house he was in and looking for some guy named Robert. We have no idea how he got in but he didn’t seem dangerous, I don’t think he stole anything but it was still really scary. This demo was a bit short but it was good!
Yes we are all okay! It was scary. The first thing I went to do was check on my baby after he left and then looked around to see if anything was stolen. I am making a short video about it in a bit. I have no idea what the dude would’ve done if we were still asleep because he was literally right at the bedroom door. My cats love people and so they would not even do anything to an intruder.
9:03 "Is this what normal people feel like? Like your brain actually works" Can't speak for everyone else, but my brain surely doesn't work most of the times either, Jack.
This game reminds me of the game “at dead of night” that jack played awhile ago but didn’t finish. I would love to see jack go back to that game and play it start to finish. Its really entertaining to watch, let alone watching jack play it.

I think a good horror concept in general is something that has the potential to be real. For example, people see "Threads" as the most highly regarded horror film BECAUSE a nuclear blast is definitely possible.
Yeah I think horror games are scarier when it's a very real possibility of a thing happening. A home invasion for example is very possible. Aliens abduction? Not so much.
Would love to see Jack play The Testing Chamber or The Advisor. They're a mix between personality test and Horror / RPG so I think it would be right up his alley.

I absolutely love horror games with realistic themes, the idea of someone stalking me or breaking into my house is an uncommon but not impossible hypothetical. It’s just so much scarier than a ghost or demon, really builds up tension :0
5:48 idk who’s gunna be scarier the murderer coming into your house, or going into a strangers house to murder them for them only to be clicking on their screen endlessly without a thought in their brain.
I think its just a general fear we all have, I know if I hear any odd noise at night my mind immediately jumps to "someone's in the house, I'm dying tonight" It's definitely worse when I'm out rural as opposed to in a city
Hey Jack (Sean), been watching you for a while now. I'm a recovering addict, I'm currently 3 months clean. I'm working now, just got hired at Lowe's, I'm striving for a license and a home of my own. I love music, I literally listen to Tool daily. I also love a perfect circle, Starset, and Breaking Benjamin. I do so much for my recovery, and it isn't easy. But I strive for what I want. And I want to meet you one day. I watch your videos here and there, and more so I aspire to be positive thanks to your influence and the impression it has left on me over the years. You're a great person, and I hope to one day meet you. Thank you for everything you do, Sean. ❤️
3 months clean? make it 4, after that keep going. You're doing an amazing job trying to better yourself, I hope you're proud of yourself, cause we all are.
When jack said he wanted a home invader who was actually nice he reminded me of that one lady who got arrested for breaking into someone's home just to pet their dog and wash their dishes :')
As someone who's just starting ADHD meds, Jack being amazed at what he can do and wondering if it's really this easy for neurotypical people is very relatable
I understand his fear of having someone sneak in and I didn't know how strong my fear was until my boyfriend started doing graveyard shifts after a couple months of being with each other practically 24/7 after we both lost our jobs. He'll leave for work at 10pm and I'll go to bed for around 12-1am and even though we have a very small "basement suite", I was terrified that someone would sneak in and hide before I go to sleep and I don't want to lock the bedroom door because I want him to be able to walk in when he comes home, and I can't lock the door that leads to the rest of the house because we share the laundry area. Thankfully I've gotten used to it over the past month, but I still get a little nervous before I put my sleep mask over my eyes.. Leaving the fake candles on helped a lot though!
Hey Jack! Just wanna thank you for everything youve done. Ive been through so many tough times, and you never fail to make me smile. Thanks for the memories, and never stop making these awesome videos!

I would suggest the 'Fathom of Fear' games if you haven't already.
Jack talking about his meds is such a mood though, sometimes I’ll get something done and I’ll be like “THE POWER OF MEDICATION”

That PhD program you mentioned sounds amazing and I hope so much is learned, studied and applied.

@@danknfrshtv
Not male, for one. Meaning quite literally can't be "mansplaining."
For two, I'm autistic, have ADHD, depression, anxiety, and OCD- meaning that I am *literally* neurodiverse and am presenting the information from within the demographic it applies to.

This demo was a bit short but it was good!
dang that's spooky, glad things ended up alright though!
Holy crap you good bro?
Yes we are all okay! It was scary. The first thing I went to do was check on my baby after he left and then looked around to see if anything was stolen. I am making a short video about it in a bit. I have no idea what the dude would’ve done if we were still asleep because he was literally right at the bedroom door. My cats love people and so they would not even do anything to an intruder.

I think a good horror concept in general is something that has the potential to be real. For example, people see "Threads" as the most highly regarded horror film BECAUSE a nuclear blast is definitely possible.
