Robert may I ask what your Aquasky light settings are? I just picked one up for my 40 gallon saltwater FOWLR tank. They said at the store the marine 3.0 is mainly made for coral growth.

Hi Scott. Thanks for the question. These lights are designed to sit on the rim of your aquarium. However it may be possible to mount the LED under your hood if you have enough space. I would suggest leaving space on the top of the fixture to provide proper cooling and air flow.
Depends on your tank size and depth. You would want the "Marine" light. We have the Fluval Marine (1) on a 65 gallon in our photo studio with softies and polyps that are growing and spreading. We have seen noticeable growth over 6 months. If you have a bigger deeper tank you would probably want two lights.
Affordable, yes. Lighting, Great App? Needs A LOT OF WORK!!! Light defaults to midnight if your device loses power, no am / pm setting dobsetting the light is maddening! Just two of the downfalls I've found.
@@ryanbrand3946 Just use Dynamic Effects for it... I just set up an effect of moonlight in the dynamic effects tab for 3 hours starting 1 minute after sunset ends.
I’m not impressed. I can see the light quality is poor compared to t5 or t8. But it is option loaded. but led won’t meet the full requirements of the plants or color enhancing red lighting that t5 or t8 can deliver.
I have 2 35 watt aquasky 2.0s on my 55g saltwater tank and couldn't be happier. My anemones love them they keep growing and splitting.

How does this work if I have a hood that normally covers my tank?

Scott, have you ever thought about removing the hood and getting a glass cover and setting up the light on top of that?

Just bought this way too expensive for what it is. And tbh it isn't much better than my way cheaper fluval.
It can grow plastic plants, great!
