Okays, I'll speak myself out... Sauna has nothing to do with sexuality. It's a place where you get all the stuff of the week out your mind, can relax and get your energy back. A little like Japanese hot baths and springs maybe. Especially in the past it was normal to have a family sauna. The tradition is still alive, though some modern families don't have family sauna anymore. So for me, sauna is more about having relaxing time with the people closest to you, not a place to date with strangers ;) If going sauna naked feels awkward to you, it's inside your own head, taught to you by your culture. My personal opinion is that one way to keep health body image in this world of perfect photomanipulated ad models, to see normal people naked now and then as well. But, I have to add, I got it. Joe's just joking about things as much as possible ;)
TubeKettu Precisely, it is in ones own head thought by one own's culture, but it is real. Remember that Joe is an American, and in his culture being naked in a Sauna with others is considered public nudity and is highly sexualised. Finnish Sauna Culture is a very big culture crash for the average American. Joe could have Finnish ancestry, though, which could make it less exotic and strange for him.
Dovenpeis Yeah, actually you explained in a better way what I tried to explain ;) How to feel in different situations is very often learnt trough social culture. And of course, the culture is not common only to a nation, but every family, city etc. has it's own variant of this common culture.
It's the whole Puritan influence. Remember that it wasn't that long ago that women had to wear collars up to their chins and skirts down to the tops of their feet and it was considered slutty to flash your ankles lol.
I am Swedish, I was in Finland last week. Was great, liked it and I find it ridiculous that other Swedish people ridicule Finns. Maybe it's because I am from southern Sweden.

Hell, I've served a few firefights along some Finnish Soldiers, and can see why my family is made of Infantrymen since we immigrated to the United States
+Trenton Greenrock How the fuck is it your homeland if you've only visited the place once? Do you even speak the language? 110 years ago Finland wasn't even independent yet.

Michael Lojewski I met to say the Netherlands I got those two confused, and also I didn't even talk about the people I was looking at the country side and towns
+Michael Lojewski Maybe it's because of your father? Maybe people just happened to hate your father because he was making everyone mad with the way he acted or represented he's thought's. I have never even heard a single finn even use words "norwegian" and "hate" in a single sentence. Finnish people rarely even talk anything about norwegians, except maybe about economy and that kind of stuff. Where are you pulling this shit from? "if I go there with my Norweigan passport they will fucking hate me for just having a Slavic name" You have never even visited finland and you pull this shit out of your ass?
5:00 "this is an American tradition, now we are officially married", LOL. Joe, you are one of the funniest people on TH-cam. I just found your channel about a week ago, thanks for all the laughs.

Finnish people are very proud and serious a lot of the time, but when it comes to humour, I think the safe option would be to go for gallow's humour. The Finnish soul is deep. It's deeply serious, deeply silly, deeply depressed, deeply hilarious, deeply philosophical, deeply drunk, deeply reserved and deeply brave, etc. It's a people of extremes, except most of those extremes are well-kept and hidden away, waiting for the right moment to emerge. But they always linger in our minds. When Joe asks the girl on the beach if Finns cry in the sauna, and her response is: "Not right away!". That pretty much sums it all up, right there. :)
20 yrs ago I had a Finnish exchange student! The Girls at his HiSchool started coming to my home all the time saying they were there to see my Daughter and Son. I dated a Swedish girl in College, she smiles a lot and was working on her Masters in Music. We dated for the entire year, she moved in after the first quarter and was like a good Wife! Helsinki is like a normal European city. I live there and like it a lot but there is other cities too in Finland, you know.. Looks like all the tourists just come in to Helsinki and they don't even realise that the huge airport is in Vantaa, not in Helsinki. Tourists don't even visit Vantaa xD They just rush in the capital city with an exensive taxi to eat in Mc Donalds. I recommend travellers to go in Heinola, Kuopio, Kotka or some town that is not so international. but if you are black, don't go to Lapland without a body guard. Those people are so fucking racist there. (but not in South Finland)
When I watched the video where he visited Sweden I was like "Wow, chill, why so much hate on Finland.", but then I saw this video and was like "Okay, now I get it.".
Pay attention to what? English is a world language. In Europe, especially Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland there's English movies and music every where. How are we suppose to not pay attention to it? But I have to say that from the countries I just mentioned I'd say Finland has the worst English speakers.
Still have to remember that besides material help, there were lots of Swedish volunteer fighters fighting for Finland and Sweden also took in many Finnish refugees during the war(s). It's a touchy and complicated subject for sure, but I'd rather be thankful for the things they did for us rather than complain about the things they didn't.
FinViltzu X That´s where you are very wrong. If you read history you´ll realize that a great number of so called vikings from Sweden and Denmark settled along the western coast of Finland and gradually became "Finns" before anf during the so called "viking age" more known as the "iron age".
CoolerFin There were Finnish and Estonian Vikings as well but they came 150 years after the Scandinavian "Viking Age", These "Vikings" or "Pagans" came across the Baltic Sea and raided Sweden many times but they didn´t only raid Sweden they also raided other Finnish tribes. Some historians call them Baltic Vikings. Finnish vikings from Karelia attacked the swedish capital of Sigtuna in 1187 and killed the jarl, bishop and all the christians in the city. This attack among many other attacks was the driving force behind the swedish expansion in Finland.
meisseli mjaaha Not all of you. People have divided opinions on Scandinavians. Apparently Norwegians enjoy the highest esteem. As for Finns, I only met two in my lifetime. They, too, left nice impressions.
Modater Nasser Finland was part of Sweden for 700 years... but it’s more like sibling rivalry, not hate. The same kind of thing is between the US and Canada too.
Akito Ogawa I am not quiet, at all, or shy. I just don't feel like I have anything substantive to contribute at this time so I'm abstaining from polluting the environment with pointless noice emanating from my mouth. I wish everyone would do the same.
I don't think that sweeds hate on people from Finland more than they hate on sweeds. I haven't got any problems with Finland though I'm sure I'd get hate from you guys if I went there. But it's problably all exaggerated so yeah :)
IfoundNathanMcGuiness "I'm sure I'd get hate from you guys if I went there." If you behave yourself, you'll get a fair treatment. Usually the Swedes in Finland don't dare open their mouths so nobody really notices them.

I'm from Finland and it's maybe best land of the world. So good plase!!!!!
Why are Nordic countries so awkward? I've noticed that.
because we are fucking retarded
meisseli mjaaha
Not all of you. People have divided opinions on Scandinavians. Apparently Norwegians enjoy the highest esteem. As for Finns, I only met two in my lifetime. They, too, left nice impressions.
They're really nice people, excellent to be around as they are honest and trustworthy.
Because we're pretty anti-social, I would've thought that you'd notice that.. We don't small talk.
you are pretty awkward
"whip it good"
näyttää iha ville myllyrinteeltä:D
i love Finland so much because Finland is a beautiful country
You should visit! Possibilities are surprising for nature and city people. And most finns are mellow and helpful regardless of little shyness.
End the EU - end the Fourth Reich And what's that? Don't come where? To your basement? I doubt that counts as a tourist attraction..
i am from finland and i really like this video :) it was nice to hear what he thinks about finland :D
i love finland
😂🤣 their hatred for each other is very funny!, they look almost identical, they are like jealous twins
Modater Nasser Finland was part of Sweden for 700 years... but it’s more like sibling rivalry, not hate. The same kind of thing is between the US and Canada too.
I miss this mans videos
@@kingwinter2024 lol
The people he’s talking to can speak English better than 95% of Americans.
Can't believe I didn't find this God sent human beimg until 2020. Best channel on TH-cam.
Finlandia es el mejor pais de el mundo Suecia se ve muy arrogante
This people are more shy than asian .XD
Vähäpuheiset ja ujot suomalaiset ;)
Akito Ogawa I am not quiet, at all, or shy. I just don't feel like I have anything substantive to contribute at this time so I'm abstaining from polluting the environment with pointless noice emanating from my mouth. I wish everyone would do the same.
***** yeah....i can see you're profile pic... good ..
you're a moron...!
ur...
Why you swedes hate Finland so much? I like sweden and have been there many times but always some swedish guy comes and starts throwing shit on me.
I don't think that sweeds hate on people from Finland more than they hate on sweeds. I haven't got any problems with Finland though I'm sure I'd get hate from you guys if I went there. But it's problably all exaggerated so yeah :)
IfoundNathanMcGuiness I don't think so. I have seen Swedes here in Finland many times, and not even once did I see someone go and talk shit to them.
IfoundNathanMcGuiness
"I'm sure I'd get hate from you guys if I went there."
If you behave yourself, you'll get a fair treatment. Usually the Swedes in Finland don't dare open their mouths so nobody really notices them.
Well why do fins hate sweden so much?
***** Ok but I think it's more hate than love :( Let's just be friends :)
One of my favorite videos!
Much love from your small penised friend from the west.
