Someone has covered the outside with wood to disguise
    it's origin.

This vessel. was , for a while, in Foxtrap Newfoundand, I met the guy that built and lived on it, the local port authorities, we concerned for the guys well being , he would from time to time move it around the coast docking where he could. He was tied up behind a MacDonalds in Manuals Newfoundland, until he was asked to move on. My boat had a 100 watt Solar panel aboard that I was not using, so my wife and I gave it to the guy to put on his creation, as we did not really need it... I laughed out loud when I saw this video and my Solar panel fixed to the top!.... Having seen this creation up close,.... Like most people I am shocked that it made it across the North Atlantic!... Rick is bit of a different fellow, he could be seen on his solar powered Tricycle up around Manuals / Topsail Beach here in Newfoundland. Bit of a free spirit that walks to the beat of his own drum for sure. I bet if he had known that his floating home was going to survive the journey, he definitely would've been on board. No doubt that seeing that it did make it, his personal thoughts and beliefs about "Government Types"... that looked down their noses at him, and discouraged him from attempting the crossing...... are now confirmed. I don't know for sure.... but it would not surprise me to discover him someplace, now constructing a new one!.... Watch for it on an Irish Beach Near you!

She is standing right there in the water surf. Almost all dressed in white with what looks to be maybe blue under the white at the chest level. You can see right through her. Written on one of the inside walls of the boat, shown at 3:30 in: "I, Rick Small, donate this structure to a homeless youth to give them a better life that Newfoundlanders chose not to do! No rent. No mortgage. No hydro." The last two words are some humorous (but good) advice; but most importantly, it implies that this craft went all the way from Newfoundland in Canada to Ireland (at least 3,020 km), but I found out that it is at Newfoundland that the Gulf Stream heads East to Ireland. It doesn't prove this was the case, but it implies it, and the Gulf Stream could make that happen. The fact that no one is on board is not that big a mystery -- either:
    1. It broke its moorings and drifted there (especially possible if helped by strong outgoing tide); or
    2. The occupant(s) got washed off somewhere at sea; or
    3. The occupant committed suicide solely by abandoning the boat, or in conjunction with some other method; or
    4. The occupant(s) was (were) picked up by a much better-seeming option; or
    5. The occupant(s) was (were) abducted or killed.

There's no mystery when its obvious what happened to it. Even the boat itself tells its story and its easy to fill in the gaps you just need a brain.

Or did it drift down to Panama, pick the Locks, navigate through the Caribbean, up the Gulf Stream and get to Ireland that way?

It's a pretty good 'Home-made' boat by whoever built it - so hat's off to the builder[s] - if they survived whatever trip he/she and/or their crew was attempting to make in it. I love working with wood myself and have projects going using recycled pallets - all the time - at present and am re-using old Red-gum fence posts that I asked a local fencing contractor in my area to supply me with - instead of taking them to landfill. Saw off the rotting bits that went into the ground and you still get re-usable lengths for a shorter 3-4 foot high fence which can be extended to at least 6 foot again [if desired] even after sinking 18 inches of the base of them into the ground making a fence every bit as strong if not stronger than a professionally built - new timber but poor quality [very thin pine palings] paling fence that buckles and falls apart after a very few years.

As the creator of the vessel wanted it to be used, perhaps it should be used in a way that was not considered.
Ie no matter where it goes ashore in the world it should be repaired and refloated.
After all it landed in Portugal before Ireland so it could be a floating anomaly, just log every point it lands and just keep refloating it to see over the years how many places it lands at.
Get the govts involved ie not destroy it on sight, and just leave it floating around in the sea.
You never know it may save someone's life and it may provide a huge amount of information.
So long as you don't end up with a sea full of floating unclaimed boats, stick a mark on the boat to say the last location it landed and put it back, let it keep going.
Then every nation say after 10 years should hold a mass get together with the creator of the boat, then 20 years and so on, and when he dies it passes on to the town to nominate a representative picked from eco living people living there.

There is a lesson to be learnt from this. A boat is more likely to survive the ocean if it goes where the ocean wants it to go. Or from a human perspective you survive longer if you go with the flow.
