The phone seems to be the perfect package in a perfect size for the average people, but still i think the power users will never even consider compromizing the screen size after a 5" for example. How is a camera button useless...? That's a freaking great feature most cheap out in and skip. Just because other manufacturers say you don't need it, that doesn't make it bad. I hate taking photos on new phones without a button and awkwardly tapping, or even worse trying to take self/group photos without being able to find the screen button or making it focus wrong.. (yes I know we have front facing cams, but their quality is always poor, so I don't use them). Plus good luck trying to do one handed photos without dropping the thing if it has no button.
i love how just around 5 years ago, 4.3 in was considered as a huge phone and anything above 1500 mAH was considered a powerful battery...the rapid growth of technology...wow!!
Also, the Xperia Z1 Compact is supposed to be small. It's for people who find larger screens unapealing. it's called COMPACT because it's pocket sized, it's intentionally small. That con should not be put up there.
They gave it a rating of 9 with con for small display and minor UI issues. I believe that it should get higher rating because its point is to have a small display, so that con is invalid, besides that the minor UI issues are only minor so that does not justify taking away one whole point off

I love Sony and I enjoy using my Z1, and this probably is the best 4.3 incher at the moment. My only concern is the bezel of xperia line up, could have been smaller. The bottom one is a waste of space.

I love the comfort of physical keyboards and owned several smartphones after the HTC device, I always come back to a physical keyboard. That's why I'm currently using a Blackberry Q5. However, the camera is terrible, the screen size is laughable and the app store is empty. I had to root the device in order to enable android apps on the device. Still the Z1 looks gorgeous, has great specs and if the battery life is more than decent, I might go for this device.
I agree. I found my way into the world of Sony Mobile via my awesome Xperia Pro. The problem is only that it is getting too weak processor-wise as todays apps are getting more and more demanding. But I am having a hard time switching because no one offers QWERTY keyboards anymore and I don't like the small longitudal QWERTYs found on e.g. blackberry.
Can I have a question? I have a G2. I use it everyday. I bought it 3 weeks ago. I use it mostly just for social media and watching youtube videos and texting. So I started my day with a 100% with Wifi on and 0% brightness only. No mobile data and auto-sync and silent mode with vibration. And after 5 hours of screen usage and its afternoon already and my G2 is like 50% of battery life already. I tested my G2 on sleep mode for hours starting in the morning with 95% of battery with the same settings (wifi, 0% brightness, silent mode with vibration) and after for 10 hours staying my phone for that. My battery is about 60% - 65% of remaining life. I tried to be efficient on my G2 and still didn't make it through the day without charging it at night. What do you think should I do? I called LG and asked me to go to their service center to know what is the problem. Do you think its a worth a try to go there and have a replacement??? It's an LG D802 Unlocked.
My friend are you kidding me ? :D This is the best battery stamina i have ever heard of on an Android high-end smartphone EVER! Lol! My htc one s lasts 4 hours (and not always) with moderate usage! Your LG G2 is doing fine under heavy usage and you should never expect to not charge your device at night if you use it through the day! You will always charge it at night! Plus,give the attery a week to settle down and you should see even better results! You have a very nice phone and you should be happy with that battery results! :)
AkOsIrAnUto9980 I have an Xperia SP with a 2300mah battery and standby like you say will last over 7 days. Honest to god. It actually tells me it'll last 14 days and uses only 8% battery a day with wifi, data, bluetooth off and not needing to touch it.
Can you tell me something about battery: Can I remove non-removable battery? I know it sounds funny but I really want to know. Z1 compact has slightly better specs than sg s4 but main differences are batteries. pls answer
I really like the specs of this phone and I was really looking forward to getting the white one until I saw this review. The fact that its not all white in the front bugs me. Also the fact that the pixels go down all the way to 8 when taking 16:9 pictures is kind of weird when my old Xperia Ion went from 12 to 9MP. Despite those 2 things I still cant wait for this phone to come out.
The only thing I hate about Sony smart phones is that onscreen navigation bar which is always there. And the only way to get rid of it is to root your phone and install a 3rd party app. In my opinion there must have been a better solution.

best high end compact phone ever made. period. it puts iphone 5s to shame. it has so many high end features. pretty amazing.

Thank you. I'm just used to have a phone which is samsung galaxy ace 2. It has about 1500mah battery. And it would last me a day with moderate use.
