Nice video - thanks for these clips. The SZ buses are pretty good - both diesel and trolley. They still use conductors on all services, though they are trying to get people to use the ticket machines which are on every bus (within the city there is a flat fare of 1lev); however, the machines don't work well, so conductors are still here for the moment! Services have recovered to pre-covid levels, and the buses are well-used; masks are worn consistently. Stara Zagora is a lovely city, and the buses give a good metro-quality service around the shopping area, with four buses per hour minimum on main roads; the Passenger Information screens at bus stops work pretty well, but (unlike UK for example) buses are listed by route number, not order of appearance; it took me a little time to get used to this! The system map at bus stops is not very clear; there is a street-map as well which is more helpful, but sometimes I have found myself explaining to native Bulgarians which buses go where... As well as the city-bus network, these buses also serve many of the attractive villages outside the city - usually 4 or 5 buses a day (including Sundays); other villages and nearby towns are served by minibuses (маршрyтки) or intercity coaches, all of which call at the bus-station (автогара). The railway station is served every 15 minutes by routes 3 and 8, but most other routes are a pleasant 800m walk through the station park, which has just been renovated.
