Coach you said it in the discord. This looked like a team whose coordinators spent last week interviewing instead of game planning and preparing the team. I want to thank you for all the work you've put in this year, and I look forward to your analyses next year. Good luck to the Ravens the rest of the playoffs.
As a ravens fan, I was thinking of the way the Ravens were knocked out in the AFCC last season but you're right coach, tonight had echos of that 2019 Ravens-Titans game. Head scratching coaching decisions and the QB pressing at points in the game when it wasn't required
How is this Ben Johnson fault? The plays were there but Busted ass Jared Goof, couldn't hit anybody, he turn the ball over 4 times and had a lucky touchdown, Goof sucks and the Lions won't ever see another Nfc champ game as long as he still Qb. Sean Mcvay booted his ass for a reason.
@@syminite1did you watch the video at all or are u just talking out of your ass genuinely? 3rd and 1 and gibbs is averaging 15 ypc and were throwing it with no rb in the backfield? Giving it to jamo to throw when were down 10 in probably the most important play of the game/year? Wtf are u saying?
@syminite1 yeah true but what was that jamo trick play? Or how about 3&1 and you've been gashing them with the run up to this point and you go 5 wide. Don't even attempt to run. Yeah Ben has some problems

I'm just thankful a true X's n O's guy that isn't just rage baiting cares about my favorite team (I have a soft spot for Lamar too) thanks for you consistent coverage Coach have a great offseason!
Ben Johnson was too busy trying to impress Tom Brady… and he failed to put Goff in a situation where he could adequately manage the game through the run game with well timed play action; instead of risky 3rd and short empty backfield pass plays. The commanders could not stop the run game.
This was a rough night. For my Lions, my liver and my sanity but very much appreciate the video coach! I most have asked "what are we doing?" With the play calling 3 or 4 times but the the Jamo throw honestly left me speechless. That's a regular season up 14 in the 1st half play not a 12 minutes left in your season one.
I think your hypothesis about the coordinators doing interviews is probably more right than we realize. I also think there was a sudden lack of pressure and urgency with the bye week, the adrenaline wore off. Campbell also made mention of not knowing the opponent they would face and I think that uncertainty may have delayed the prep or affected the gameplan in a way. All that to say we just weren’t ready for the one that counted most.
Spot on with your reaction. I was sharing your thoughts on pretty much all points. There really should be rule against interviewing during the season too. How can that not be a huge distraction.
This loss reminds me of the Giants beating the Packers at home in 2011. Packers were 15-2 and Rodgers broke tons of records, they are one and done in the playoffs (offense was off the entire night) and next year Joe Philbin is the Miami HC.
As a lions fan, it's frustrating seeing people on social media make excuses for the lions ("the injuries caught up to them"). You can't have watched this game and not seen that the Lions were outplayed on both sides of the ball by Washington. Also, you might be on to something regarding the head coach interview process affecting playoff performance. I can't understand how else the Lions were so unprepared for such a crucial game in a season where the coaching and preparation was typically excellent.
@@wallhackio399 agree. Very unusual game. The Lions did not play like they normally do on Offense. Which is independent of any analysis of their Defense.
Injuries have been a part of everything that's gone wrong in this season and this game. Ben Johnson still did a really shitty job in crunch and did some really weird shit trying to push the pace to catch up and it just ended up looking like the Bucs game all fucking over again. Both of these things can be true
Good video. Disappointing ending to the season. That 3rd and 1 call really felt like the beginning of the end, and it mirrored the worst aspects of Ben Johnson as a play caller. No question he's really good but I question his situational football decision making. People clown the Eagles for the tush push but to me it's them saying "we have an unstoppable play and will use it to keep our offense on the field or ensure touchdowns." For the Lions, our tush push is the run game and going for it on 4th down. You run the ball there. And if you don't get it, run it again. Or QB sneak.
Thanks for the vid coach. Hard to watch the season ended with a bad performance and a loss. Part of me understand with the amount of injuries. Lions would struggle against top team. How they lost was bad. They don't hv the composure, different feeling from the regular season.
I’ll just say I want these 2 coordinates to go. They were Clearly outmatched - not focused. And Goffs fumble was so infuriating, then all the picks. Oline was another bad surprise. The idea that this is the last shot together adds pressure
Thanks for the breakdown. Confirms some of the thoughts I had about the game. I agree with the analysis regarding the coordinators. I wonder if Goff knew something considering the way he was pressing. Success brings its own set of challenges. Hopefully, Campbell learns from this and we come out stronger next year.
Coach thank you for all the videos. As a Lions fan you were part of this special season. 15-2 is special but we wanted more. Just lost for words. It's over.
9 incompletions at 23 second playoff start. Coach I love your analysis but can’t give JD enough credit production is production and it’s been consistent
Lions finally caught up with their injuries and Amik Robertson breaking his arm on the second play a huge blow.. Hat off to Jayden Daniels taking advantage of the lions depleted defense and executing 4th downs and red zones.
Coach i love the content, and am so thankful for you covering my team! I wholeheartedly agree with you on this video BUT one point I think Daniela gashed us deep when he needed to multiple times. His deep ball was what we needed tn for Jamo to have another walk in td. Other than that I agree on the coordinator point! Focus on the team you work for! It’s not fair to the players and both sides looked off tn! Wonder why!?!?
His better throws were i think one really deep pass and two Over concepts. More inaccurate on 3-4 shorter throws. Kind of notable. The Deep Pass that Joseph tried to defend was a big one. Clearly.
If lions run the ball 45 times and cut the tricks, feels like they would have won by 10. They gave their defense no help. Even when they scored it took so little time their already weak defense became exhausted on top of it. Coaching malpractice.
The defense gave the offense no help? They scored on nearly every possession. None of the offensive turnovers even lead to the defense coming back on early. The 1st interception was the pick six if anything defense had more time to relax, the 2nd interception was to end the half, and the 3rd interception was to seal the game. The defense didnt give themselves a break.
I agree with you 100.....Ben johnson made some horrible calls I think bc he wanted the spotlight.....also AG is a mid level coach....Goff played bad tonight but this game will make him a better player.......coming from a gutted lions fan.....this hurts.......The coordinators and the decimated defense were the reasons why we lost.
What do you mean ceiling? Is it the NFC championship game he took the lions to last years? The super bowl he took the rams to? The MVP caliber season he just had? Even Tom Brady had terrible playoff games.....the lions are gonna be fine and be contenders again next year.
Both of our coordinators took their eye off the ball. I know the defense didn't have the horses, but I didnt see any game plan. The offensive side of the ball looked reactive and like they didnt have a plan. That starts with Ben and it trickled into execution on the field.
Your analysis is spot on! Ben Johnson got too cute on the red zone play on the third drive. Instead of running Gibbs we fumble and that was the play of the game.
You're the only one I can listen to right now 😭😭😭😭 You hit the nail on the head about Ben Johnson. He goes away from what works 🤦. Did it last year in the NFC title game when the 9ers couldn't stop Monty.🤷🤦 Ego trippin
I don't think I've ever seen a staff coach as desperately as Glenn and Johnson did. 50% blitz rate and just completely abandoning a run game that was gaining chunk yardage is absurd.
I think you’re absolutely correct. Possible coaching fatigue and distraction issues, lack of game readiness. This is a textbook example of something I saw early in playoffs and was criticised for saying that coaches win or lose playoff games. Many want to single out a player, usually a QB and shoulder that player with the entire loss. There is always a much higher probability of coaching performance impacting a win or loss simply because of the extraordinary amount of responsibility and responsiveness that is the job. Terrible play calling led to a QB trying to force a result and no one can completely blame him, considering the absence of coaching support in play calling. Goff did not have his best game but he certainly wasn’t benefiting from attentive coaching. Playoff teams with interviewing coaches is a recipe for disaster and this game is quantifiable evidence of this. Ben AND his staff assistants out flitting around looking for a new job before the job they hold is seen through is unforgivable. So now, with Detroit coaches failing to meet the anticipated expectations this Detroit team gets imploded and next year is now a rebuilding year instead of a follow up run for the title. The absence of duty of care by Detroit coaching staff and abandoning their HC and players is as despicable as it is heartbreaking. That said, congratulations Detroit Lions fans and HC, you people all but define everything I have loved about the 2024 season and football itself. You have a lot to be proud of in Dan Campbell and the players of the Detroit Lions franchise. See you all next year!! ❤ ✌️ Go Seahawks
Game came down to unnecessary passing. It was sooo much like watching past Ravens playoff games, it was scary. Commanders weren't stopping the run at all, yet the Lions kept forcing the pass plays. That said, Goff had been passing really well all year. He just had a Brett Favre type bad game with head scratching decisions. JD played great. He didn't make mistakes. He didn't take unnecessary risks. The moment wasn't too big for him. I've been inpressed by him all year.
I agree Jayden made the throws when he needed to and ran when he needed too and played within himself and took what the defense gave him and Goff did the opposite
When we came out in the 3rd refusing to run the ball I got so frustrated that I actually turned off the game. I was just SO PISSED at Ben Johnson his head has clearly moved on to other things. Absolutely pitiful performance not only is Gibbs DESTROYING them but Goff has clearly gone into one of his panic modes. Run. The. Ball...
Also agree with what you said about Jamo adjusting to the ball in the end zone. He could have at least made that INT contested. He could have went after the ball aggressively. I don’t pin that on JG. That was a TD pass one on one where you give your guy the opportunity to win the battle and go get the ball. Jamo waited for it to fall into the breadbasket and enabled the INT.
Agree with everything you said. I think they were trying to force Monty into the game too much. I love Monty, but first game back after what was nearly a surgery required injury and after Gibbs had a hall of fame performance… Gibbs was clearly deserving the ball MORE. We ended up in too many 3rd and longs and our offense was sputtering. Then, like you said, throwing to Laporta was working, to Gibbs was working, to Saint Brown, Tim Patrick, Jamo and Kalif Raymond was working… why are we trying to get cute and put Jamo in a position to make throwing decisions with the season on the line. Jamo should’ve ran or thrown it away, but you can’t fault Jamo… he’s not an experienced QB, he’s a speedster… that’s on Ben. Then on defense, we played scared of JD running. We stopped JD from running pretty well, but at the cost of letting everything else go. IMO the defensive game-plan was backwards. We should have stopped everything else and forced Daniels to carry their team on his back. If he does, tip your cap, great job… but don’t let the resting the team have their way just to stop Daniels from running. They let everything go on defense, and played dumb on offense… made the crowd a non-factor in fairly short order. The coaches did not earn the win.
Nothing to analyze on this. Defense couldn't stop a nose bleed, and the offense rushed to score points and turned it over. That said, 31 points with 4 or 5 turnovers won't win you games, but it's still kinda impressive. Break time from Lions content for this fan for a bit.
Coach your so Right Gibbs was on fire.and Goff played the worst game of thr year. He's still my man but he had a rough game.We were out coach I thought we were going to run the Ball
Lions lost their starting CB on the first play. They lost one of their safeties later on and were using another one who had played 1 play prior to that. They had 18 guys on IR on defense and had used 30 different combinations during the season. No other team had to face that. Offensively they made mistakes that they normally wouldn't but defensively they were just under the 8 ball most of the season and it caught up with them. 15-3 is nothing to be ashamed of at all. And this is a young team that can only get better. They'll learn from these past couple of years, get healthy and hopefully will become even better next year. As for the Commanders, they are good solid team and have a real bright future as well. Hats off to them. They played really well and deserved to win.
This is the first video I have looked at about football period since 11:30p Jan 18th. I had turned the game OFF after the pick 6. At 11:30, I checked the final, and score shocked me and totally hurt my feelings hurt. I felt so bad for how much work the team put in all year and all they sacrificed. I'm licking my fan wounds and hoping the team is holding up after how shitty this was.
The conflict of interest is real! I believe you have a point with the coaches putting together a game plan with 1 foot out the door. I also believe with the amount of injuries on one side of the ball, it has to show through at some point. While going through the season, they basically were able to live off of adrenaline from week to week and would put together a great defensive performance, for what they had, every couple of weeks. That week off just took all the momentum away and they couldn't get the juice back, especially playing a red hot playoff team. It really reminded me of the Buffalo game as far as the defense is concerned. The offence looked like they forgot who they are. Like you said, feed Gibbs! If not, feed St Brown. If not, feed LaPorta. To me, they should have been getting St Brown involved more in the offence too. For whatever reason, St Brown always has trouble with the turf in Ford Field and has been tripping all year on it. Don't know what they have to do to get him comfortable on that field, but they need to absolutely do something. Gibbs was by far and away the best player on the offence and should have had a lot more touches. What are you saving him for at this point in the season? Why the pitch count now. It reminds me of how the Lamar Jackson lost in the playoffs last year. Where he's sitting in the pocket and no one is open down field, but he's not taking off and running for the yards. Like what the hell are you doing? If no one is open, run! Like his coaches were telling him not to run to save his body, but you are about to lose if you don't. I'm sure there was a lot more to it, but that's what it looked like last year in that loss and an outsider watching. I that's what I felt like this year watching Gibbs not get the ball.
Lion needed to run the ball more; Washington couldn't stop the run. Lion had to play time possession game.Lion was the better team; the loss is on the coaches bad game plan. Lion defense didn't have a pass rush and didn't play the option well.
I am much more impressed by Daniels than it sounds like you are. The coaching and playcalling no doubt plays a big role, but his composure as a rookie is nuts to me. The way he stood in front of free rushers and calmly converted in critical situations reminds me a lot of Joe Burrow
Good game from him last night. Lot of quick throws, based on pre snap counts or Option based concepts. I didn't see a generational performance that others did. But saying he didn't play well. I just didn't see a historic performance from the standpoint of what he was asked to do. His OC and the scheme handed him a lot of easy throws, and he still did miss 3 or 4 short ones. Think he's a fantastic player. I did in last year's Draft. In fact I wondered why he wasn't talked about more. But, specific to last night, I didn't this tremendous performance that everyone else did against an over matched Defense
Makes since. Really interested to see if he has a sophomore slump when teams get an offseason to adjust, I just love his temperment and the way he has put his best foot forward in critical situations through the season
After watching this game and you video do you think they just over looked the commanders thinking as good as they were playing they thought they only had to worry about the eagles ??
I agree with the criticism of the 12 on the field, but torn on the decision not to call a timeout. This game was shaping up in a way where we were going to need those timeouts at the end and even if we called the timeout, I think chances we stopped them on the 4th was very slim. We hadn’t stopped them the entire game. Very easily could have burned the timeout plus given up the TD. But definitely the chances of getting the stop are much higher on 4th & 2 instead of 1st & GOAL..
I think my real assertion is that when both coordinators are getting multiple interviews, the work flow is interrupted significantly. It is a theory, for sure, more so when both coordinators are looking to move up. The Lions didn't look like the Lions at all last night after the 3rd Possession. So impatient against a Defense that is there for the taking.
I think the whole energy seemed off, even with Campbell. I didn't mean to exclude him here, figured the coordinator situations were obviously connected to him. I woould personally say "If you want to go interview somewhere, consider yourself relieved of duty now", and see how things go.
I think it’s dumb that there’s coaches being hired right now before the season is even done. Teams should not be allowed to interview OC, DC, HC, waterboys while the team is still on the playoffs. Such a dumb thing that should be addressed.
Interviews should not happen during the most critical part of the season. The Bears and Raiders can wait a few weeks to decide on their head coach, it will make zero difference on their end, while it makes all the difference for the current team in the most critical part of their season.
Defensively the lions looked lost. They’ve had hard time with running QBs and option plays for two years. But offensively Geoff made some terrible decisions thinking he could win the game in a single play
Lions biggest issue has been for a long time is team speed and athleticism on defense. Secondary probably the least athletic in the divisional round. Between Lions a Rams toss up. Even before injuries. Commanders took advantage
Gibbs is a beast, I don't think I've seen a more dominant game, from anyone to only have touched it 14 times on the ground is just terrible play calling... Thing about great coaches has been there will to go with what's working, or come up with a gameplan for the opponent and just sticking with it... No reason not to have ran Gibbs more, and shortened the possessions and made Daniels press. Instead those 4 down conversions did the opposite and Goff pressed. I'm telling you he looked at it like I need to be perfect because these guys will score until we stop them and he kept messing up... IDK if Dan thought about that with the aggressive play calling or its just the nature of his play calling, but that looked like the thing that rattled Goff and had him pressing, then he throws that int pick 6 and it was over....
I needed this therapy. Went to DC for the inauguration, watched in a BDUBS full of Commander fans. Had to sit and experience this failure. By large, I have a lot of respect for their fans, they were mostly gracious
When the Lions Offensive coaches Montgomery and Johnson say they call a running play no matter the personell because it doesnt matter who carries (when and where) because they have faith both Monty and Gibbs are "complete" backs....was essentially the Lions undoing tonight along with turnovers, Monty should have been used in short yardage and goaline carries as he looked a step slow comming back from injury (as he should) and Gibbs was electric from touch 1 and should have been permitted to tote the rock close to 30x's. He (Gibbs) also never was targeted much as a reciever which would have really forced the WAS LB's to be exploited more and The run D for Detroit was not consistent by any stretch of the imagination! Nor was the secondary very sticky in man or able to pass off an assignment in zone, just a very inept game plan and failure to make in game adjustments as it unfolded imo. Secondary for the Lions got beat deep like the safties were too focused on the RPO burning them and keying on tackling (which was also piss poor) instead of staying home deep and providing help for rookie and 2nd string CB's like Arnold and Vildor. I firmly believe that this isnt remotely the same outcome if Giibs is fed more totes and Amik doesnt go down early. All in all it was a lackluster effort and showing and hope whover the Lions land as coordinators and draft picks have us right back in the post-season with less distractions and injuries when (not if) they do with Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes at the helm!
That’s what I thought about during bye week too. The interviews the coordinators were getting didn’t just affect me, it clearly affected the players… I think Ben was selfish by going toe-to-toe with pass plays.
Man it feels almost on purpose that maybe out of line but he is looking to go elsewhere maybe him and Tom have an understanding crazy I know !!!! Naw idk
They shouldn’t have not gone away from Gibbs….They couldnt stop him..and that would’ve continued to open of the pass…Goffs decisions combined with Cute Playcalling and the defense being decimated lost them this game in my opinion
Didn’t see this one coming. Them winning changes everything. I had thought it would be ravens vs lions for the SB. I thought that would be the script. I was wrong. I can now see the ravens losing this. The nfl wants to push the Allen narrative.
If they play 10x lions would win 8-9, the defensive game plan can only be pulled once and I put a lot of it on Geoff because he was making choices like they were down 30.. I bet Washington because of the points and the lions struggling against options concepts, add in defensive injuries and I figured Washington would at least be in a shoot out. I don’t watch the lions like you but it’s nearly impossible for a defense to play sound without getting tons of reps together and the defense that was on the field isn’t what they had all season, the league it too competitive to win without your guys. Overcoming 1-2 positions can happen but 1-2 major players at every level plus a few back ups. Overall i blame Geoff tho
Goff played very poorly. I think Ben Johnson was the leadoff hitter for that dynamic. They both performed in a way that doesn't represent their body of work. Weird ending. Very similar to the Ravens in 2019 in a lot of ways. Coordinators really not coming in prepared.
I think if they played the next 7 days everyday the lions would win everytime. This is literally just the coordinators focusing too much on their headjob
Within any other Business this conflict of interest wouldn't be tolerated. How or why the NFL allows it is crazy. We don't have access to what's behind the scenes but human nature is just that. Just a side note, when I seen Jamo throwing a 25, 30 yd pass between multiple defenders resulting into yet ANOTHER turnover... I turned it off.
I thought it was impatience and arrogance on the offensive side for the Lions and a over hyped 1 seed. They played 3 teams that are left in the playoffs and lost two of those games. Goff is an issue, imagine what the Lions would be with a guy like Lamar. Their defense was just bad in the two games that mattered Buffalo and Washington.
The lions will have to reboot now. Ben is gone, more than likely Glenn too. Talent on defense is quite limited, what Dan does moving forward has my full attention I honestly Hope he succeeds. Side note, I don’t believe in Ben Johnson the head coach he’s more OC than HC
Coaching Malpractice. It’ll never be admitted publicly, but we know what went on. Injuries on defence limited us, putting pressure on us to score on every drive. But still, this was a game that will have me pretty bitter about the whole coaching hiring tree. Will I hope for these 2 coordinators going forward. Absolutely not.
Ppl shted on A.G all year and he didn't deserve it....he was working with shadered glass pieces on defense the whole time. This is one of the rare games where he got out coached/schemed. Bills kinda count but it was talent involved also. GET GLENN SOME HELP
Yeah I was not nearly as impressed as everybody else, played a good game. But I'm not blown away with a bunch of Bubbles, Screens, and Drag routes. Another Lamar. LoL
@ as much film as you watch I know you see it. The specialness of Jayden is undeniable. I’m one who believes Lamar is the best individual player ever. Even I have to admit this Jayden guy is extremely special. I can see him and Lamar end up being top 5 QBs of all time. This season for Jayden is what 2019 was for Lamar. The thing for Jayden now will be consistency year in and year out.
@chrischilds368 I didn't see a special performance last night. I just didn't. What do you want me to say? HEY THE GUY MISSED 4 EASY THROWS INSIDE OF 10 YARDS BUT HIT A BUNCH OF BUBBLES, DRAGS, AND OVER CONCEPTS AGAINST AN OVER MATCHED DEFENSE. That's not a generational performance to me. Sorry to disappoint you. All time? LoL
@@all_22_films Jayden has completed the greatest rookie season of all time, undeniably. For a rookie QB to be this smart. This great of a decision maker. It’s uncanny. He has the elite decision making of Lamar but as a rookie. These guys are going to wreck the league. I don’t see how you watch JD5 this season and have not seen special.
@chrischilds368 he's had a very good season. Watch the videos before the Ravens and Lions games to see what I said. He did not have a special performance last night, which is what I evaluated in this video. I'm not interested in being reactionary after a game against an over matched Defense. This focus on the QB only reveals a level of imbalance of perspective by a lot of people.
Turnovers that turn to points for your opponent, and bypassing your play makers for cutesy plays in key downs, and advertises "injuries" to many and deep on your Defense. The old saying "Defenses win Championship" Oh so true! Losing Hutch, McNeill, Barnes, Davis, Rodriguez, Cominsky, and Robertson, all of this and more showed to be to much.
Coach you said it in the discord. This looked like a team whose coordinators spent last week interviewing instead of game planning and preparing the team.
I want to thank you for all the work you've put in this year, and I look forward to your analyses next year. Good luck to the Ravens the rest of the playoffs.

Absolutely
Ben and Aaron were on Zillow all week rather than on the game plan.
Excellent analysis, spot on every word you said, detroit could do with your services😊
You hit it right on the money coach the vibe was most definitely off with this team.
Weird look from a OC when your RB is shredding the Defense ... to go away from it in key moments.
Good video as always
Coach thank you for all the videos. As a Lions fan you were part of this special season. 15-2 is special but we wanted more. Just lost for words. It's over.
Dispite the devastating end to the season it’s been a great season for lions fans. I appreciate your analysis all season coach!
9 incompletions at 23 second playoff start. Coach I love your analysis but can’t give JD enough credit production is production and it’s been consistent
Anytime the lions had an opportunity to take the lead goff threw an int.
Lions finally caught up with their injuries and Amik Robertson breaking his arm on the second play a huge blow.. Hat off to Jayden Daniels taking advantage of the lions depleted defense and executing 4th downs and red zones.
NO MORE COACHING INTERVIEWS DURING THE SEASON!
-
THIS GAME PROVED IT!!
I knew we were done when Amik was done and Ben decided to throw it on a 3rd and 1, even though they couldn’t stop Gibbs.
Clearly.
Johnson reading his own press clippings!!! He will be an average coach !!! Book it
Definitely will be rooting against him and AG for this disaster.
If lions run the ball 45 times and cut the tricks, feels like they would have won by 10.
They gave their defense no help. Even when they scored it took so little time their already weak defense became exhausted on top of it. Coaching malpractice.
Gibbs is a monster.
The offense gave the defense no help? Is what i meant to ask
@peterjabattack1 I don't think this will make Goff better! He can't put the team on his back, and has reached his ceiling.
WE WERE OUT-COACHED, PERIOD
Your analysis is spot on! Ben Johnson got too cute on the red zone play on the third drive. Instead of running Gibbs we fumble and that was the play of the game.
You're the only one I can listen to right now 😭😭😭😭
You hit the nail on the head about Ben Johnson. He goes away from what works 🤦. Did it last year in the NFC title game when the 9ers couldn't stop Monty.🤷🤦
Ego trippin
That rookie qb is nice. Give him his credit
Exactly on the road in Detroit as a rookie. Did his job an more as a rookie
I don't think I've ever seen a staff coach as desperately as Glenn and Johnson did. 50% blitz rate and just completely abandoning a run game that was gaining chunk yardage is absurd.
Agree. Weird reaction to the Run game really being productive ... to go away from the Run. Specifically, Gibbs.
✌️ Go Seahawks
Interesting assessment.
1000 % agree with what your saying
@Mark-dl7yz really smart the way they use him. Definitely calm and level headed.
That was brutal
You’re right they should have rode Gibbs like a rented mule
I guess youll get another data point for the interview theory with ravens this evening. Hopefully it doesnt line up
I think my real assertion is that when both coordinators are getting multiple interviews, the work flow is interrupted significantly. It is a theory, for sure, more so when both coordinators are looking to move up. The Lions didn't look like the Lions at all last night after the 3rd Possession. So impatient against a Defense that is there for the taking.
What about Dan Campbell ? He should recognize and talk to Ben about those play calls . Dan is head coach .
Goff and Ben Johnson that’s it.
Interviews should not happen during the most critical part of the season. The Bears and Raiders can wait a few weeks to decide on their head coach, it will make zero difference on their end, while it makes all the difference for the current team in the most critical part of their season.
Great point. Letting 3-14 teams somehow impact the preparation for important playoff games feels very weird to me. It did in 2019 also.
Defensively the lions looked lost. They’ve had hard time with running QBs and option plays for two years. But offensively Geoff made some terrible decisions thinking he could win the game in a single play
And this right here folks is why Jalen don't care if he's up 10-0 with a only 39 yards passing in the 2rd qtr…
Lions biggest issue has been for a long time is team speed and athleticism on defense.
Secondary probably the least athletic in the divisional round. Between Lions a Rams toss up. Even before injuries. Commanders took advantage
NO interviews allowed during playoffs NFL needs to get with the program!!! Not right .
The NFL can (and should) change it's rules to not allow teams to interview coaches until the season is over.
Gibbs with 30 touches seems like the right amount in this matchup
That’s what I thought about during bye week too. The interviews the coordinators were getting didn’t just affect me, it clearly affected the players… I think Ben was selfish by going toe-to-toe with pass plays.
Oh and go Ravens!!
The nfl wants to push the Allen narrative.
started with goff fumble and interception . then playing catch up bad play defense pick 6 BAD play calling horrible coaching & time management
I said it all year our 3 biggest killers are:
1.Injuries
2.Jared Goff
3. and Ben Johnson’s conservative ass play calling
Simple reason Daniels!!! He is a top 5 quarterback NOW
Easy they said the same thing about stroud after last year let’s stop anointing these guys too soon
I think if they played the next 7 days everyday the lions would win everytime. This is literally just the coordinators focusing too much on their headjob
Washington playing loose with house money is a joy to watch.
Washington’s offense scored a lot of points this year. lol If you can’t see Jayden Daniels’ greatness, that’s a you issue. The whole world sees it.
No one should be allowed to interview until their season is over
I know you’re crushed All 22…
I thought it was impatience and arrogance on the offensive side for the Lions and a over hyped 1 seed. They played 3 teams that are left in the playoffs and lost two of those games. Goff is an issue, imagine what the Lions would be with a guy like Lamar. Their defense was just bad in the two games that mattered Buffalo and Washington.
They werent overhyped at all, that just wasnt the normal lions
The lions will have to reboot now. Ben is gone, more than likely Glenn too. Talent on defense is quite limited, what Dan does moving forward has my full attention I honestly Hope he succeeds. Side note, I don’t believe in Ben Johnson the head coach he’s more OC than HC
The "Capitalism knocked off the Lions" take is solid 😂
I would agree there. He did a great job for most of the year, definitely.
@all_22_films amik Robertson got hurt on the first couple of plays of the game. Glenn was living in a nightmare.
It really wasn’t that shocking to me honestly
Wasted opportunity, all credit to the Commanders.
We have another Lamar in the league. He goes by JD5. Thank God he’s in the NFC. The league has NEVER been better at QB.
Just reload and regroup! 2025 will be better.
Worst play call all year having Jamo throw the ball.
Clearly it is management big dogging it and again labor- the players and fans- paid dearly.
