The only thing bad about the A5 (Which I absolutely love, though I've upgraded to the Phenom) is that it DOESN'T fire competition level paint that's fragile like HK Competition. It works great on a medium/durable recreation grade paint. The Phenom (with cyclone feed), my main gun has the same problem. The 98 and A5 are the best value in paintball. I highly recommend them for people considering paintball as a occasional recreation (once, twice a month for a year) activity.
Would be cool if you do an efficiency test on a A5, so we know typically how much pods it can shoot. No one has a video on that, I know its a old ass gun but it is still being purchased up to this day.
If you are looking for a gun that shoots fast and won't break your pockets, the Tippmann A-5 with a response trigger is a beast. The only thing I suggest doing is replacing any o rings or old valves that that come from the factory. Just replay it with something new, because who knows how long theses guns have been sitting in storage room.
Ive literally had my tippman a-5 for 11 years and still runs great with e trigger id be tearing fools up with positive k.d each time i play paintball . A-5 super reliable at an awesome price. And plus theres just so much u can put on it as well.
Society 1 no need for it. it's definitely worth buying! It was my first marker almost 5 years and it's still slinging paint, only problem I have is the composite body shells are cracked from being used for so long.
The Gryphon, for some reason, is very, very accurate. More accurate then other tippmanns for reasons no one has been able to figure out. It's light (the plastic body can crack) and has a double trigger, BUT it is what it is, there is no adaptability.
Unfortunately they stopped making the pro carbine, I've owned one for years, I've fire all 3 and the carbine seems to have better accuracy though it's not very fast, though I'm usually not throwing much paint anyway
I totally agree, back in the day I ran Tippmann 68 special the predecessor to the 98 custom. I played for about 16 years, then life happens. Getting back into it now and picked up the A5. I have had e-markers in the past. But I am a Woods player so I wanted strong and reliable for getting back into it.
I have it on mine. Works great for an alternative to an E-trigger. I opted for it instead because it gives me full auto capabilites at a cheaper price.
Worst pain I've had is getting shot in the fingers.. stings but goes numb after a few seconds.. and make sure you're wearing a cup of course because some people absolutely suck at aiming
I have a tippman FT50, always giving me a high velocity... I cannot lower it down by using velocity adjuster screw. Cutting a little in drive spring will help to lower the velocity or will cause more problem in the marker?
seeing my comment my from 3 years ago and still buying a used tippmann 98 custom for half the price it will perform just the same as a a5 just slower and im fine with that. a few upgrades will be just as good as a a5. i still want a speed ball gun but this will work till then.
@@BStant23 I have the a5 modded and all that and the 98 custom is just normal so I go with the a5 but the 98 is really good as well sorry I'm not to good at explaining
I wear contacts now, but when I played with glasses on, the JT Pro-Flex mask was very comfortable. With glasses on, you will scratch the inside of the goggle lenses. This is not a huge deal, but it will happen. You might not even notice it because you have glasses on. I wear wrap around sunglasses now and they don't make contact with goggle lenses at all. Honestly, best way to play is with contacts on. I can see the field much better and my vision is not obstructed.
IMO theres no reason to get a 98 anymore. Either spend the extra money on the tmc and you get magfed and hopper fed and has the tacticool look most new players want. Or you could get a gog enmey which is lighter, quieter, more consistent, smoother, easier on paint, and the new bolt assembly makes it much more reliable and easier to service
4 years later, the 98 custom and A5 are indestructible markers. You can find them on Craigslist, throw in some new seals and the guns work great. Plus the aftermarket parts are all over.
I.play.baseball don’t buy a gryphon. It’s not worth the money. Chances are, if you’re looking for a good speedball gun, u should look into the more expensive ones like DYE or Empire.
Been ages since i played paintball. Still got my 98 (the one with the gills) i bought back in 2000. Glad to see its still rocking.
Btw the a5 doesn’t really even need atc because the cyclone feed system practically eliminates chop
I have a tippman a5 and it is a great gun

I have the A-5 with E-grip, and i love it!
Ive had my 98 since the early 2000s and its still an absolute monster.
Holy shit!
My son just bought an e-gun. I told him it’s the player, not the gun, so long as the paint is shooting at correct velocity.
Same here
I have the A5 with the 14” Pathfinder barrel. That cyclone feed is so reliable. So much fun!
Does a longer barrel increase the fps?

As far as durability, the 98 is like the AK of the paintball world.
i won the 98 custom give away
Do u like it??
FLASH graff Yeah I’m so thankful
@Jay _TooGoated yea lmao I forgot about this it was so long ago
@Jay _TooGoated polish the internals for sure
Your paintball field is amazing plz don't ever change it
Now that the A5 is $280, is it worth the extra cost? Could get the emek for the same price
Would you recomend getting a bt4 slice rifle for a begginer woods ball player

Are you guys gonna do a gryphon review
Society 1 no need for it. it's definitely worth buying!

I still like both but is the a5 just as reliable as the 98 custom? Is so I will get a a5
I got the 19th like also I like your new intro it's much better then the older one
the a5 thread is also compatible with a prolite
Tippmann A5 and the $98 are literally the AK 47 of the paintball guns.
I'm new to paintball . Can you review a Fronts with the best hopper for it or the cyclone syst. Thanks
He totally doing hotel vs etek 5 they responded to mine and someone else's comments on just that
Unfortunately they stopped making the pro carbine, I've owned one for years, I've fire all 3 and the carbine seems to have better accuracy though it's not very fast, though I'm usually not throwing much paint anyway
i just got both of these from my grandpa so ig this is a W
With the hoppers I found that if you have a long hopper neck you don’t need to worry abt jams
Just increase chances of breaking
Can you Compare the 98 custom versus the phoenix
The A5 could be compar to a AK47 of paintball gun.
98s and A5s are like the AKs of paintball
I totally agree, back in the day I ran Tippmann 68 special the predecessor to the 98 custom. I played for about 16 years, then life happens. Getting back into it now and picked up the A5. 98 with ACT and a cyclone feeder and response trigger.
Is there a “response “ trigger for the A5? You only mentioned the E-trigger.
yes there is
I have it on mine. Works great for an alternative to an E-trigger. I opted for it instead because it gives me full auto capabilites at a cheaper price.
I meant to say Cronus with the best hopper or a cyclone syst.
Does being shot during a game of paintball hurt less because of the adrenaline ?
Logan Graham probably
Logan Graham depends how confident you feel
It isn't painfully after a few seconds to minutes. Directly after the shot its most painfull.
The worst is a small bee sting that's it
Worst pain I've had is getting shot in the fingers.. stings but goes numb after a few seconds.. and make sure you're wearing a cup of course because some people absolutely suck at aiming

is the a5 switch a safe switch or a full auto switch?
Stylze
Safe switch
There is a safety but if you wanted a little wheel that switches to full auto or semi auto you would need to get the e-grip
chronus vs 98 custom?
I have both
Which is better?
@@BStant23 I have the a5 modded and all that and the 98 custom is just normal so I go with the a5 but the 98 is really good as well
sorry I'm not to good at explaining
Does a longer barrel increase the fps?
I imagine that it similar to an actual firearm. A longer barrel gives a bit more velocity but the added weight could also be a factor.
They start to fall off at about 14 inches
My country the a-5 is 500 dollars
I got both these guns
I would like to see the the t15 vs 468 guns
I've been lookn into this myself. I'm pushing more towards 468
Defender vs dam
Dominick Carfagno dam
I would go with the 98 since I own that one
empire dfender vs dye dam
my question is what mask do you recomend for a person who use prescription glases.
I wear contacts now, but when I played with glasses on, the JT Pro-Flex mask was very comfortable. With glasses on, you will scratch the inside of the goggle lenses. Jt outkast rewiew

I like that the A5 has field experience and a market full of parts. I can make the A5 magfed for like 150 dollars if I want.
