      Thank you. I'm glad you liked the lesson. Did you prefer this format or the previous format with the split screen (me on one side and the blackboard on the other side)?

      @@JennyMayolinEnglish Yeah, I prefer this format. If you go with the white background then the text would be more prominent.👍😉

    Hi.I need to ask you something. I'm gonna settle in the U.S and I'm gonna settle down in the U.S are the same ?

    • @JennyMayolinEnglish
      @JennyMayolinEnglish  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Alper! Not exactly. 'Settle somewhere' means to simply go and live there, whereas 'settle down' suggests making a comfortable life for yourself there, probably with your partner and/or family. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching 😊

    What's the difference between meet, meet up and meet up with?🤔

    • @JennyMayolinEnglish
      @JennyMayolinEnglish  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question! 'Meet' and 'meet up' can mean the same thing when we talk about people coming together in one place, 'meet up' is more informal in this situation, e.g. Should we meet up this weekend?. You can't use 'meet up' when you talk about the first time you saw the person, you must use 'meet', e.g. Where did you meet your best friend?. 'Meet up with' should be used with an object, e.g. I met up with my friends last weekend.

    • @MuhammadAli-ms8dh
      @MuhammadAli-ms8dh 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JennyMayolinEnglish 'Meet up with' can be used for both formal and informal situations?🤔

    • @JennyMayolinEnglish
      @JennyMayolinEnglish  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MuhammadAli-ms8dh I would use it more for informal situations. The more formal version would be, "I met my friends (for coffee, etc.) last weekend.

      2) She used to meet up/meet up with her school friends at the weekends.
